I know this is a few years old but i went to the Omnipod Dash and use Android APS now. More control gives you microbolus and its algorithm is much more like a pancreas. Im 47 been T1D since I was 10. My biggest issues are absorption as well as insulin resistance. If I dont eat my BS are awesome but if I eat evej moderate carbsy postprandial bloodsugars go high.
Hello Caroline. It's nice to meet you. Thank you for the info that you sharing. Dexcom/Omnipod combo is great. I wholeheartedly recommend this. I've been Type 1 for the past 19 years and this is where it's at. If I come to any information such as what I shared, then I will put it on. Sorry about the highs that you have. Stay on it and stay beautiful!!!!
Instead of skin tak I use Flonase because I get a rash and seen on a fb group was told spray the Flonase and let it dry and I don’t break out a rash. For dexcom & omnipod works great
I’ve been high all day too. I’ve taken 80 units too. Lol I wasn’t due to change my pod until tomorrow afternoon but I was down to 6 units so I changed it and it was leaking some. 🙄 That explained the high sugars and the large keytones.
I put my pain patches in the same area of my inside of lower arms and it’s by far the best site for me to use! Skin moves minimally and little to no hairs in the area, and easy to keep an eye on to see if there’s any irritation, easy to keep hidden with a sleeve or just not showing that side of arm, and no tan lines as it’s easier to keep that area out of the sun. I tried to put my patch on the inside of upper arm, but the tegaderm I always have over the actual patch as an extra security, would pull on my skin at the edges so I got some pretty nasty sores. Not quite the same as wearing a Dexcom, but I’m guessing it might give me an idea of where I shouldn’t put such a device should I ever need to wear one (I’m non diabetic) I guess I’d put a Dexcom mostly on abdomen or upper butt area, my lower arms are already taken lol
You should push the air into the insulin downwards not into the insulin itself. That’s why you have so many bubbles. Insulin bottle on the table. Syringe into the bottle, push the air in then tip the bottle upside down and draw in the insulin.
Hi, I’m new to OmniPod. Is it possible for you to do a short video on how to put a new sensor on while still using the same OmniPod. I’m confused on how to tell OmniPod device, to start a new sensor. Thanks ☺️💜🙏🦋
If you have a Dexcom G6, it will be based on the Dexcom app. Omnipod is only corresponding to the Dexcom due to the glucose readout. It would be nice for both to correspond like that, but it doesn't unless there is something I missed.
Honestly I’ve never really thought about it haha. Thats just when it says my session is up...maybe it is every 10 days and I just haven’t been paying attention 😂
