Not sure if you'd like this but "The Legendary Mechanic" LN is quite enjoyable. The manhua is terrible in comparison to the LN sadly. But I would give it a look since you said you like the whole isekai, transmigration, type genre.
I would highly recommend you check out Stagtown if you like Junji Ito style horror it's so good. Also the creator behind Bastard and Sweet Home is back with a sequel/prequel to Sweet Home called Shotgun Boy and its 🔥👌 brutal af it's great.
You need to go to Atleast chapter 15 to see the whole prologue to get the whole gist of the story of Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint ... I'm telling you because there are many assumptions you made, like the the girl... And the protagonist
@@animesenpai1163 hahaha as a fellow LN reader, I can proudly say that the authors made a good job on constructing their characters and not making them fall into cliché, generic and predictable ones.
As a novel reader, this story is one of the legendary. There's so many Foreshadowing in the first arcs, the characters is so well fleshed, and the plot is... *chef's kiss*. The 2 authors (Husband-wife) who wrote this made this for 10 years until they published the novel.
I am now reading ch 350 in novel, it has few plotholes. I love this novel and would feel wholesome if the plotholes are justified at the end of the novel.
Glad you picked this up! In Korea, Omniscient Reader is one of the most popular novels and is considered a legendary series. The story is extremely long and at the pace that the webtoon is going, it's probably going to take up to 10 years to complete. It's also already been confirmed to get a movie series (5 films).
@@openlink9958 Real life because the korea doesn't want to give it to japanese studios because they really love this series. It's that popular in Korea
@@mariel7079, wtf? Does Korea not have any animation studios willing to adapt? I find it weird that you'd say that Korea wouldn't want to give it to a Japanese studio. Where are the Korean ones?
@@blaedus5318 well Korea focuses more on drama than animation. Korea's main stream is creating Kdrama's while Japan's mainstream is creating anime. Honestly it's rare to find a full on korean anime (I've only found 2 which is 10 minutes long only). Not that I'm degrading the japanese animation studios but I feel like Korea should adapt this story because it feels right than to give it to Japan. I'm still sad on how they adapted God of Highschool (I know animators are not to blame because honestly they did a great job at animating it but the direction and pace of the story the directors decide really unjustified the overall plot of GOH on the first season.)
@@mariel7079 I don't think what happened to GoHS is director fault either . Production committee probably only gave them 13 episodes . I think the main purpose of Webtoon anime series is advertisement .
As someone who’s read both original novels, ORVs novel is far better than SLs novel. They aren’t even close in that regard, but SLs manhua is a lot more enjoyable than its novel. I’m really excited for this adaptation since the team doing it did SL really well by focusing on its strengths and ignoring its weaker points.
@@hollowsamurai2707 while i agree that the story is better. After some point orv loses some of its hype for me because no matter how much the author pushes the stakes up, i can't get into it because dokja is dokja. If jin woo op god man beats bad guy repeat, orv is mc is always 40 steps ahead of his opponent. Like i never felt any tension because dokja always has a plan and a several back up plans for it. And especially with the whole self sacrifice thing, after the second or third time it lost its impact. As i said it is a good story no doubt about it but it always bugged me
What's best about ORV is the fact that most of your predictions are wrong (not meant to be offensive). What I meant to say is that it's unpredictable. The first mistake to make while reading it is comparing it to Solo Leveling because they're actually way different from each other (except the art style ofc) even with the character dynamics alone. So when you actually try to base your plot predictions off some of your usual isekai/seinen anime or manhwa, you would most likely get it wrong. Which is great. I cannot count the amount of times ORV has pleasantly surprised me with its developments and I cannot wait for you to read more of it!
@@typeouetco1626 another issue with solo levelling is that pretty much no one else is allowed to be strong other than jinwoo, all side characters are irrelevant and make no difference to the story whatsoever. people like solo levelling so much (including me) because its a power fantasy, but that doesnt excuse the quite frankly mid story
Glad to see Omniscient Reader is getting the attention it deserve! I want to clarify some things though! ORV gets compared to Solo Leveling a lot but their stories are different. SL is a power fantasy while ORV is an insane meta love letter to stories. It got plot, great worldbuilding and an amazing supporting cast. It is a slowburn with a complex theme so it takes a while for things to pick up unlike SL. Also keep this in mind. ORV is a story which needs to be read to the end to fully enjoy it.
I've been reading Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint for a long while now, and I like it even more than I do Solo Leveling. Chibi, your guesses are WAY off. But it's so good, I won't spoil it.
Finally Omniscent Reader Viewpoint (ORV) is receiving the recognition it deserves, the web novel alone is one of the most popular in korea, it even already has a K drama in the making. Thanks chibi, i hope you continue it because it's such a good read with many twists and turns. there was a mistake in what you said but correcting it would spoil an amazing moment in the next few chapters so it's alright. One thing that i personally really like is it's world building, truly one of the best (since i dropped TOG i consider it THE best) at least from the web novel perspective.
@@GLUFSAREN I've read some that give the v i b e s. But this one really takes the cake, it's world building/game mechanics are onpar with solo leveling, maybe even better
@labcoent co hahaha....... True so i might have read more than 7000 chapters in the last 6 months and have like 10000 chapters (which includes Multiple series' though 1/4 of it is just reverend insanity which is super good if your happy with dar and evil mc) And I don't think i can finish the novels i have put in the library even if i use the whole summer. Edit its 7000 not 7
Chibi reviews : it might go down a romance route Me: hysterically laughing at the same time crying Any way if your what i mean It doesn't gi the romance route even though (in my opinion ) they have one of the best fmc
After only 5 chapters and the series made you amazed. What more if you read the rest?! Get ready for more surprises! Omniscient Reader gets better and better. Enjoy and hope you spread more of the love~
@@ChibiReviews The webnovel is up there as one of my favorite pieces of fiction of all time. It's honestly really good and worth reading. To my memory, there's a bit over 500 chapters.
@@ChibiReviews yea the story has been finished for about a year or two now and they have been adapting it pretty fatefully. Same case as solo leveling, the novel was completed by the time the webtoon came out. Also the novel is kind of long for a korean work, around 550 chapters. Also btw the story gets really myth heavy and I think you will enjoy the later parts a lot more.
I remember one of the glass I have read online is the heavy "queer baiting". Unsure what that means because it's not really used in my country but most likely it indicates moments that can be taken romantically. So I am wondering if that plays out in the novel if so is it lessen in the Webtoon. I understand sworn brotherhood but just curious
Fuck yeah, you're reading Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint!. It's really good and deserves more love. Just a heads up though, it's a bit of a sore point for a good number of fans that this is being compared to Solo Leveling because the studio making the webtoon is the same. In terms of story, it's totally different and is closer to Umineko in my opinion more than anything. I do want to advise that this series plays off of the readers having an existing understanding about returnee-type stories. Some things may be lost a little due to lack of context. About the romance... ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) I'm not gunna say anything. Either way, I hope you enjoy the ride though! (And possibly read the webnovel... it's really amazing.)
Solo leveling may be hype (fucking love it), but omniscient reader is superior in terms of story and characters. Fun fact, the same studio does BOTH series.
After reading 375 chapters so far on the light novel, I can definitely say that this a masterpiece! For anyone trying to read it, I encourage and support u to do so! Enjoyy
Chibi: it is very fourth wall breaking and meta Oooh chibi you have no idea. As for if the series delves into romance sub genre or anything else Orv is the series that has EVERY sub genre in it.
I love the fact that the world of Omnicient Reader's Viewpoint is a juxtaposition of Twitch + Hunter Games. The characters are seen as tributes and it depends on the viewers, the constellations/gods, and their "donations" on how these tributes will grow and survive.
i already read the webnovel, but thank you so much for recommending this series to others!!! i absolutely love this insane story and i'm so happy knowing more people might give it a try! :D the main characters get so much development as things proceed, i laughed and cried with them during the whole time and all the twists and turns!!! T^T i'm so, so jealous of people who read the series for the first time lol
Anyone who tries to read this, do not even open omniscient and wiki at the same sentence on google, you will get spoiled even without opening the wiki. This thing is literally (almost) solo level if jin woo main powers is knowledge. Not saying one is better than the other tho Edit, the story is kinda better than SL because the main protag isn't as op as jin woo, he is just cunning and not to mention the plethora of plot twist this thing have. The amount of plot twist is as much as Mushoku tensei and as good as it
So, as a person who read all of the Omniscient Reader novel, imma just say, IT'S EPIC. Also, something to consider is the ending when you all get there. You might actually save the main character by reading. You'll understand later on guys. IT'S EPIC
Chibi dear, I'd love to recommend you a manhwa called SSS-Class Suicide Hunter. Its good shit too. And yes, just like what the title of the manhwa indicates, He dies a lot.
I can’t believe you finally discovered ORV!!! I’m currently reading the webnovel and the series is really consistent with its pacing. It only gets better from what’s been adapted into a webtoon so I totally recommend checking out the webnovel too.
Being honest here, as best girl i have to disagree, but only because i don't like her type, as a character tho, probably my favorite, what an amazing female character.
Well yeah, I guess you can say that but she doesn't feel like a real girl would do.... reminds me of those over the top tsundares but an amazing female character next to heewon and sangah
@@awanderingcommenter7635 honestly thou does any of those characters act like a real guy or girl. Hell the children are pro murder almost from the get go.
I mean, who didnt imagine to be the MC while reading a story? Who didnt imagine to be Ainz Ooal Gown, Sung Jin Woo, Kirito, Luffy, ETC. Now suddenly you are, well, thats kinda the plot of Omniscent Reader. READ IT! Its worth it
@@ARMYALEX1869 Is like being reincarnate as Yamcha, all other characters exist and you have to use your full knowledge of the story at your favor.....is like telling Goku in the Cell Saga how to transform in Supee Saiyan 4
@@SolarCDL Really hope so. The last couple of chapters show signs of progression (leveling up) and hinted some revenge, so I'm crossing my fingers for some of that sweet payback
Omniscient Reader's premise is kind of like a reverse Isekai or Matrix-like story. E.G. the real nature or truth of the world is revealed or transformed for the main character.
[The most ancient dream is intrigued by this video] [1000 coins have been sponsored] ORV is one of the best novels out there, the character development, the plot, the plot twists, everything is godly, and the Translation is also really good! I think everyone should read it , it has about 550 chapters including the epilogue (that is equally amazing and feels more a part of the novel and not a special)
I am one of the readers of the novel and I can say that the plot of Omniscient Reader and the world is much much much better than the plot and world of solo leveling. both are good don't get me wrong but man Omniscient Reader is in another lv of character development
A genuine suggestion to anyone planning to read Omniscient Reader: 1. If youre expecting a pure power fantasy series. This is not for you. 2. This series is slowburn. Patience is needed to actually enjoy what orv is really about. 3. Drama. If youre the kind of reader that cringe at the sight of a tearjerker scene or an emotional mc... Again, this series is not for you. 4. Myths are everywhere in this series. Mostly, korean myths but more diversed ones later on. If you dont like that, too bad. 5. No romance. A few ships sailed but no ships docked 😔 6. The mc is realistic to the point that others might think he's boring and not a developed character. Wc I disagree- but hey, preferences, right? Overall, I suggest everyone to cont reading orv cos it's extremely rewarding. This series is reasonably popular in s.korea and it's known for its amazing plot, depth and character devs.
I think lookism and jungle juice is really worth a read. Jungle juice has a lot of potential (I think it's basically like mha but not rlly). Lookism is good and really gets into the story after chapter 150(it's really slow paced).
@@adityajha2431 Feels like Jungle Juice is still in its "Prologue" phase as it's still fleshing out characters and setting up the world. I can see it becoming really good in the future though. Can't wait to read more.
If you like someone who is determined to help the world without expecting a pay read SSS-class suicide hunter it's a good manhwa same vibe as SL and ORV
Sorry I thought you implied that SL better than orv on your comments , I got trigger when someone trying to compared those two, of course orv is superior in everyway. People need to see that solo leveling is so simple and generic than orv. Thank to its fame, orv always get hated and ignored compared to other series. I am sorry for triggering , I am too sleepy to be alive right now.

This one is actually pretty good it kinda sucks it's like 30 chapters behind even on the fast pass stuff. Although The Boxer is the best webtoon on god
@@ChibiReviews you should watch viral hit it a really good martial arts WEBTOON where the fights make sense and he doesn’t just win by being strong and make sense why he win
Actually found this one when it was on like chapter 4 and I was immediately hooked just because of the concept and then the plot twist in the new arc an interesting perspective on his power. On the topic of good Webtoons, it might be controversial but I think Overgeared is really good, because of how simply feel-good the story is compared to most stories these days to the point of actually being refreshing, Overgeared can be compared to The Legendary Moonlight Sculptor but the former's MC actually has a mentality transformation. And the last one I want to bring to your attention is Otherworld Mercenary, because of the way how the setting works the other isn't locked to a single story, but can explore a multitude of completely different stories that become more and more complex after each one. I didn't want to spoil anything so I left out the details but do check out Overgeared and Otherworld Mercenary, from the trend of your webtoon vids I do hope you like them.
Wasn’t able to wait for the manhwa and switched to the novel and... damn it gets better and better. Try the second coming if gluttony and overgeared. Both are 🔥
I don't know how, but every time I start reading a series, I see you make a video about it. I started this same time mangadex went down, and now here you are talking about it
Im kind of upset why people would compare solo leveling and ominiscient readers...... considering solo leveling is just a generic overpowered mc fantasy
It's illustrated by the same group so it makes sense. I also like it. It's not something I wait every week for but instead a few months and then catch back up. There are some things that are a bit annoying. For example, Stakes don't matter. They really don't. MC is always multiple steps ahead of everybody and sometimes feels like I'm reading hardcore leveling warrior which also has those ass pulls making every confrontation a none issue. Else, I'm good with it. I can see that they sometimes trace shots from solo leveling but it is what it is.
