1:10 Love the symbolism behind Basil's album turning a page, transitioning to the light shining on Sunny as he wakes up, before lending to the darker side of the game! It's as if, at this point in the trailer, Sunny starts to realize what's going on.
I don't know what's more impressive: the fact that OMOCAT pushed through for 6 years to finish this game, or that everyone was able to still care about the game when it launched after 6 years.
Just throwing this out there for people who didn't know: OMORI was officially announced in the works in 2014, and between then and 2017 got a lot of hype, Kickstarter backing, and an official demo. Eventually updates about the game stopped and the developer OMOCAT launched a clothing brand without giving any acknowledgement about the game to the community for years. A lot of people (including myself) figured the project got dropped and the money was pocketed in favor of the brand. But a few Twitter teasers in recent months and now this, have reignited a flame in the cult following that still had hopes for the game.
@@rukasu1312 we don’t know. This is the most information we’ve gotten yet. We didn’t even know what type of game it was going to be, all we knew was that there was a sad boy/neutral boy, and that there were other, not sad people
@@rukasu1312 Omori follows an emotionless character called Omori, who lives in a black and white world called White Space with nothing but his laptop, his cat, a tissue box and a pillow. Occasionally travels to Head Space, a colorful world where he goes on fun adventures with his three friends: Kel, Hero, and Aubrey. However, a one-eyed shadow creature constantly haunts him and messes with the game. It’s basically a super-cute-looking psychological horror RPG where Omori must discover his past and determine the fate of his and his friend’s futures.
It has been 1 year already. This game is slowly getting nostalgic God bless you Omocat and your goddamn team for making this masterpiece. Paying my respect for the people who passed away while waiting for this game to come out for 6 years.
Everyone complaining about how long it took and me just sitting here not knowing about this game and just now seeing it for the first time and super excited
I am new to this too. But it always makes me happy to see people get some release they have been waiting for quite a while. (I am glad I came to know just now. I would be really fucked up if I had to wait this long
I bought OMORI on steam two weeks after it came out, and boy, I was very impressed. The storyline and plot, character designs, the boss battles, the music, I loved it all. It was one of the most great RPG games I've ever played. I've been really depressed, and I still am, but playing this game gave me at least a little entertainment in life. Played all the routes, earned all the achievements, since i had nothing else to do with my life. During last year I was so stressed, bored, and anxious. I wanted to die, life sucked ass. This game entertained me when I was at my lowest, and OMOCAT, I really thank you for that. Thank you for creating a masterpiece that made my life just a bit better. God bless you, and to y'all who are reading this right now. Have a great day. EDIT 6/5/23: Holy shit I forgot about this comment, thank you for the likes and kind messages TYSFM
@@Fran1245 I’m pretty sure that’s all you have to do. What you do in the real world will affect the dream world. Correct me if I’m wrong, I haven’t played omori in a while.
What a wholesome, cheerful, roleplay isekai game! I can assume that it will not emotionally affect me by presenting a cute storyline, end up setting us on a rollercoaster of mental issues, and killing off the characters that you feel represent you!
Why do people keep talking about "killing characters off", the only character that dies is Mari, which we pretty much know about from the beginning. Spoiler ahead And maybe Basil and Sunny if you get the bad endings, but I don't consider that to be the same thing.
Bro this is the best game to ever exist and nothing can ever change my mind thank you omocat for this absolute masterpiece. Wish I could forget everything and play again
I saw 5 seconds of this trailer and the psychological horror tag and instantly knew I needed it, now months later I’ve finally finished it and it means so much to me. Incredible game
In that battle sequence we can see the emotions that they all experienced after mari's passing: Hero felt sad because of him assuming all of the guilt from mari's staged suicide, which ended up dismantling the homies Kel felt (or at least tried to feel happy) by getting new friends and trying to better his big brother's mental state, ultimately failing, yet still managing to get back one of his friends Aubrey felt angry because she couldn't move forward. Said anger was also amplified by the fact that her parents hate and neglect her. And lastly, Sunny felt neutral because he had an alter ego mari and of all of his other friends in his dream, which lead to him opressing mari's death by making her spirit sometimes crawl around the house, yet Something was his own mind remindong hom of what he did.
@@thegeekclub8810 I don’t even know how that would even be possible, even when that stretch goal was first announced They must have found someway to do it.
@@huskymirai5824 they’re porting it to switch instead because the 3Ds is a dead console. There’s no point in doing that now. My point is when the Kickstarter was released originally they planned on a 3ds port which means they thought they had a way to do it
spoiler warning 0:50 this represents how all the characters reacted to mari's death Hero got depressed Aubrey was angry because she felt abandoned And kel moved on and made new friends
6 years it took to develop such an amazingly conceptualised game, the horror sequences were perfect, not too much or too less, the boss fights to new explorations of the lands with its secret filled paths. The routes of this game are also developed outstandingly with deep reason and meaning.
I got a bad feeling that the flower crown kid is actually dead and ended their own life. That or the flower crown kid is actually Omori. Either way this game is going to be depressing.
There’s also the long black-haired girl with the student uniform at 0:00 who is also most likely dead. Her name is Mari and she is theorized to be Omori’s older sister (she can be seen playing the same piano as Omori in some pictures on the website.)
@@drakyyy4955 I got into this about 3 or 4 years ago. I don't even remember. I genuinely thought Mother 4/Oddity would come out before Omori, but I am so happy.
Everyone is just hype that's it's coming out because, it's been forever since the first trailer. With dates being pushed farther, and farther. But now it's actually coming out! Well hopefully :'D
I remember seeing the Kickstarter trailer for this game when looking for the source of a song, but seeing it come years later after nearly forgetting about it, is so surreal. Seeing this after nearly 100% the game is also so satisfying recognizing different parts of the game in there.
I just realized that some people waited *6 YEARS* for this game. Think about it. *6 years* is more than half a decade. You could've been in high school waiting for this and now be in college.I admire you guys dedication to this game. And OMOCAT for not giving up and finishing this game.
I was miserable 16 year old in middleschool when i first heard of this. Now i am miserable 21 year old doing gardening studies and i am quite happy its finally here.
"Don't worry... Everything is going to be okay... Promise me that we'll always be there for each other... Promise me... These are all our memories together... They're a little sad now... But we should be happy that they happened... When you stood here before... Did you see it too?" In case anyone was too lazy to pause and find all of them, especially the last ones
@@camilla8435 I've personally had my own theories, like the existance of both a light and dark room that the drab and colorful boy are living in respectively (both representing an aspect of purgatory), and the red eye thing you see at the end in colorful's eye and the door in the black room being death, ect. I'll gladly go more in-depth if you wanna hear it all
@@ravenznest3822 I would love to hear it, btw, there are some clues hidden in the omori website, there is binary that ive translated which translates to ( [ ) and ( i ). i came from the tab that is the lightbulb, which just shows static with the main monster. and [ came from clicking the computer which shows text that says "please come back..." as of now there is no more hidden things i could find, but i suggest looking into that website for anything, there is a lot more to see in there anyways, like the sketchbook.
@@pastelsploosh8914 okok!! one: thats epic, and two: theory time! So the dull boy (Omori 1) is, as known, living in a white room until the door appears. From what i can gather, The room is purgatory and the door is the gate to heaven. So many extrordinary things happen beyond it, after all! The lightbulb represents and impending sense that "you can be sent to hell" or even a portal to this "dark room" seen at the end of the trailer. Now, the dark room, with bright (Omori 2) in it represents a gate to hell, as it seems much darker. The two omori's seem to have a close relationship (either brothers, best friends, or lovers, we don't know) and can be seen together. More on the bulb: maybe if you pull it the room changes from heaven to hell?? Honestly I'm so hype im ready to know the outcome truely Sorry if this is a bunch of word jargain but it was fun to write!! I'm happy to hear y'all's theories too!!
spoilers curious whether or not omori thinks sunny having a crush on aubrey is a bad thing or something he wants to repress it's a bit confusing because in headspace, aubrey seems to have a crush on omori and i don't really know if he has a crush back but in one black space 2 room you get multiple aubreys trying to go on a date with omori black space was for things he wanted to supress so it's confusing
people talk about the respect you should give to the ones who waited for this game 6 years but no one talks about the devs who spent 6 years of their lifetime developing this masterpiece
@@satorri1 its literally their fault. if you dont give someone a refund (WHEN THE PROJECT HAD ZERO UPDATES FOR LIKE 3 ENTIRE FUCKING YEARS GOD) theyd be pissed.
@@hisstatus its definitely true that omocat and her team could have handled it better, but that does not mean they should start handing out refunds. They never said the game was cancelled and if they lost budget over refunds who knows how long itd take the game to be released
@@hisstatus therefore, refunds were never promised and its not their fault for not giving a refund as the game was never officially announced as cancelled. If they cancelled it without telling anyone then that would be just as scummy as not refunding people for the kickstarter lol
Been over a year since I finished the game I still watch and listen to omori content to this day and am planning to make a whole playthrough a second time soon, also bought some of the merch, it's just such an incredible game and probably my favourite stroy thoughout all type of media
@@christa4172 i'm too much of a lil bitch to play this game. i get scared extremely easily and that shit can keep me up at night. i haven't even finished the prologue.
it's been 2 and a half years that this game has come out, but this trailer still has me in emotional feels and i wish to feel the way i did when this was announced, and when it was finally released. best christmas present ever
i just finished the game a few days ago and i’m honestly so amazed, for what seemed to be such a heartwarming game in the beginning turned into something so dark. i’ve never seen other video games handle such heavy topics in such a great way. everything from the little details to the deep backstories were done so well, all i can say is wow.
@@roxanne2271 Oh, is that planned ? I knew that they wanted to port it to the 3DS, but that's discontinued so... Well, I hope it does release for the Switch.

Right?? I definitely got that vibe. Sure, the hype has died down (considering the infrequent updates) but I also believe that this game could become really popular
I remember listening to the "Oyasumi" song all the time after school. I'm so happy the game is coming out (and how the Oyasumi song is somewhat hidden in this trailer)
Holly shit. I was thinking of backing this game in high school, and now that it’s out, college is almost over lol. Really looking forward to it.. I guess 21 is gonna be the year of the omori fandom

@@frillydress Yeah, I hope too. Sure every fandom has some rotten apples, but I really really want this to have a good fanbase. Luckily, everyone seems nice in the comments, so we might be in the clear ^^
Bought this game because of this trailer. No years of waiting, no hype, just the RU-vid Algorithm and some impulse buying. This has to be one of the very few times where RU-vid has suggested something worthwhile.
@@whooshylushy743 I got to it late (moved a lot last year and had my wedding) my little brother who oddly looks like Sunny wanted me to play it and I finally did... no regrets... were gonna do Mari and omori for next Halloween 🎃
