@@twiwatchesvocaloidstuff7159 In a nutshell, yes. However, I have recently been informed over at Discord that having the highest WTF Value does not necessarily mean that you will see everything in the game. The Stranger Movers, to give an example, does not always appear despite having the WTF 13 Value. Many players in my comment section can attest to this fact. So, keep that in mind while you're going through the game. Note: Slight correction, you need to open the door for Mari. After that, you can interact with the bed and see the event for yourself. My bad.
@@noux Yeah, I was completing the game with wtf value equal 1 (that reminds me, there is an npc in the casino that gives you different amounts of free money depending on wtf value which I used to determine mine, why is it not in this video? Even if it is inconvenient to record, it is still one of the easiest ways for players to determine their wtf value) And yet, I have seen strangers-movers, so I was shocked to see that they appear on max wtf value.
@@arlay3513 I though it’d be a hassle to record that so I didn’t haha. I am planning a follow-up video if any more events surface so not to worry. Right now, there’s just 2 (one of those I cannot get to work properly, one that you mentioned with Tiffany at the Casino) so it’s not particularly video-worthy.
glad people are investigating WTF value events now cause on my first playthrough i got the hanging body in the lost forest and i FREAKED OUT SO BAD- what was worse is that i couldnt find ANYTHING for it on the internet,,
Exact same thing happened with me and a creepy easter egg in a roblox game. I have no idea what caused it to happen, can't make it appear again, and can't find anything about on the internet. i'd say "i feel your pain" but no one's looked into it yet so i'm kinda screwed

today i ended hikkikomori route and got the stranger movers, didn't know my WTF value was 13, sadly i missed humphrey's "i f****** love air conditioning"
Aw, that’s unfortunate. Do you want to see the event for yourself? I could give you a save file, though you’d have to replay a bit of the game to get back to that area.
@@soullessangel207 yeah, to be more detailed your WTF value gets assigned when you leave the neighbors room for the first time(that one scene where auby gets stuck in the tree stump).
SPOILERS FOR ALL ENDINGS That would make sense but, in the end of the hikikiomori something stays behind sunny as he enters the car…and in the secret ending where basil wakes up something is shown vanishing from both of them as they smile representing the “guilt” being gone.
@@nicolrb2210 it's obvious she isn't she even appeared multiple times (Mari with the white clothes) and don't say "but that's just sunny imagining it" it's obvious that it's the real Mari because one time hero even heard the piano when the only one playing the piano was Mari's ghost
@@mariotheundying To be fair Hero claiming he heard music could just be him missing Mari too and imagining things since he mentioned the whole thing messed him up too and he didn't a lot of things he regretted as a result, it's all left very ambiguous.
I remember seeing Basil's grandma at the island. My friend was watching me stream it on Discord, here's how the convo went: "Awww... Basil's grandma is watching over us." "But.. I never got that on my run..." "What" "On my run, she wasn't on the island." "Weird..."
@@mewliter6902 after you kill toriel (genocide route) and you go to your room and sleep in it, idk but the text that appears followed by the slow down music that appears (in the normal version you could say that asgore was singing along but in the slowdown it sounds like toriel) I found it creepy
@@cremmy_crem621Same here, but i was so confused before laughing. The whole game not a single cuss word and then suddenly "i fucking love air conditioning" it was funny
throughout the entire game i always saw mari's silhouette when trying to go to sleep. like in the beginning of the game it was hard to see and would flicker, but by the end of the game i could see it pretty clearly. just to clarify, i'm not talking about "something," i'm talking about the big mari that shows up behind omori in the mirror.
when I first saw her on the mirror, it was night and I jumped it really startled me I got used to the something staring at him but that terrifying ghost of his lost sister? never.
Basil's Grandma being a WTF event makes a lot more sense. "I fucking love air conditioning" is a classic. The spelling bee one is my absolute favorite.

@@monke7566 That's actually how I got into Omori, too. A friend of mine showed me an Omori meme, won't stop pestering me until I check it out. Ah, the good innocent days.
I heard of omori, never bothered with it or anything related to it, and uh what's up with the air conditioning dude? not even questioning the other stuff, I'm just cracking up at it
Interesting fact: The Strangers may not always appear in some playthroughs despite players having WTF = 13. Many commenters here can back me up on this one.
@@noux wait, I'm just rewatching the video again but I had a crazy though (it's probably not even right because you can probably see values in the game files) what if there's another value that determines if you see other events not included in the wtf value?
@@stupiderandunnecessarier Our unconditional love for air conditioning and incredible coping mechanisms to depressing circumstances are what makes us a such a formidable community.
I remember on my first Sunny run, I got to the entrance to Deeper Well. When the group stopped and tried to remember Basil, I can distinctly remember Kel talking normally, then his dialogue switched from his usual self to some deep stuff, saying something about the group’s whole existence and why they were here in the first place. Hero was confused as to what he was saying and Kel basically said “Ignore what I’m saying!” and then we ventured on. Idk if that was part of the story that I kept skipping over or if that was a WTF value-dependent event, but I tried to see if I could replicate it on the other four runs I had in the game and no luck at all. And thanks for uploading the video! Finished OMORI and am happy to see that there are still so many secrets being found out about the whole game.
Thanks for the comment. I was going to hold off this reply until later because I do also distinctly remember Kel saying that. I haven’t managed to find anything in that short frame of time. I’ll look into it further. If you do manage to find it again, give me a word? Either making a reply comment or DMing me at Renoux#5659 is fine.
@@noux I’m willing to go back into the game and see what I can do. I 100%’d the game but it’ll be nice seeing how everything is triggered. I’ll send you a DM if I make progress or catch anything!
i had a similar thing too! it was like kel was having an existential crisis and hero was really confused. i think mine was actually inside of the deeper well. maybe it was an the entrance. i can't really remember, but i thought that was a normal occurrence but i haven't seen it on any of my other playthroughs.
It probably is 100% the same sound. A lot of games tend to use the same royalty free sound libraries. It's not uncommon to find the same sound, song or even textures in different games.
The only other game that I've seen have a WTF valiue machanic is Undertale (and Deltarune) which go by "Fun valiue" instead of WTF so seeing more games use this kind of thing is amaizngn
I agree. The randomness adds so much more uniqueness to your, otherwise the same and uneventful, game. Makes for a good excuse to replay the game to see some new content, even if it’s just a little bit.
@@leon30517 oh right, i honestly forgot about that I think tobi based the FUN valiue off of it as Yume Nikki is a game he liked and you can see its influces in undertale (i mean gaster, whos only appearance is in a FUN valiue event is designed to reference Ubo, a character who also appears in chance events) Omori's WTF valiues work closer to Undertales FUN valiue then the chance events imo but omori is defiantly influenced by both games
God, I remember on my first playthrough, after the cutscene in the waking world, the night where the boys sleep over at the house, when you wake up and talk to ghost mari at the piano, and then kel interrupts you. Yeah after that cutscene, there's a pretty calming music, and you're supposed to go back to bed, but I went to the bathroom because I like to check everything, and then at the mirror hellmari was behind sunny and the music completely stopped. The visceral feeling I had to hear the music stop abrubtly like that is something I won't forget anytime soon, especially with the whiplash after the emotional and touching scene. I don't believe the hellmari mirror scares have anything to do with the wtf value, but that just makes them less predictable and scarier imo
In my experience, the music only plays with the normal mirror sessions. Any mirror sessions that have the presence of Something or Mari, the music stops. Intentional or not, it’s creepy all the same.
Omori is a master at that. I never witnessed anything like it from any media yet. There's this up from the comforting words and music, then suddenly everything abruptly stops to basically tell you "It's not over yet." It's so jarring.
I swear my wtf value was super high my first playthrough, i got almost all of these, i searched up the cockroch and nothing showed up and i thought roamin cow was normal npc, the house was normal, the spelling bee was a normal npc, like seriously idk why my wtf value was so high
I got all of these in my first playthrough and I am such a noob. maybe because you jumped in the holes cuz when I find any hole or weird place I go there. just a guess
I love that this game plays with this type of value, it keeps the game fresh and keeps players on their toes for any unexpected new stuff for every play through they do. Plus it’s interesting to see new things appear especially if it’s lore.
I was so incredibly weirded out when Humphrey dropped that F Bomb out of nowhere on my first Playthrough. That was one of my favorite moments of the game lmao
I am not really sure if this is about the WTF value but there is a scene where Stranger watches Sunny when he enters the room. It happens after you win the fight against Space Boyfriend and after you stab yourself as omori, and wake up, go downstairs then go upstairs. Stranger is watching from the roof/out of room's border. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-imyRxTIUU2M.html 1:30 mark, The video is about the Stranger event.
Damn, thank you for pointing this out! Though, this is probably not a WTF event thing, more just triggering the right triggers. I’ll look more into it. Just when I thought I have seen everything about the game. Thanks again! I’m grateful.
@@ilcwm162 Correct, the WTF value is assigned to a save file when you leave the Neighbor's Room stump for the first time. And it is pretty much like Undertale's fun value, the only difference is that Undertale has specific events assigned to specific values meaning you pretty much only get one event per playthrough, while in OMORI you get the events assigned to the value AND to all the values below it, so the higher the WTF value, the more of these events you'll encounter.
@@starless267 Yes, I'm sure. The photo doesn't appear at all if the WTF value isn't enough, and it only disappears if you interact with it as Omori, so chances are it didn't disappear before because you had someone else tagged at the moment.

So its not just me who noticed the game becoming "laggy" in the bad ending, right? It makes it feel so heavy and depressing, Like you haven't confronted anything and now you just have to leave, with all of your past trauma and weight still following you. Not to mention, you never got to see your friends again, and probably never will now that you're leaving for good :(
The unused waking up image is 1. Unused but was supposed to be the waking cutscene after finding out the truth 2. Me waking up at 6am cause school when went to sleep at 5:30AM cause we have a test tomorrow
I got the stranger movers but not the air conditioning dialogue. Is this because I was doing a neutral ending? Or do you think I just missed the dialogue?
No, you should have missed it. WTF = 13 is the only condition needed to see it. Do you want a save file for the alt route to test it out? You’d have to replay a bit of the game though. Edit: I did a little bit of digging and it turns out that this event doesn’t always trigger for some reason, despite players having 13 WTF Values.
@@noux I watched a playthrough in which the opposite happens. EDit: checked the wiki and it only happens in the OMORI route. was unclear from the video.
man i know the second last timestamp with hellmari is (probably?) part of the hikikomori route (aaa spoilerssss i havent played it yeeet) but MAN THATS TERRIFYING HELLMARI STANDS IN FRONT OF YOUR BED FOR WAY LONGER THAN NECESSARY
I swear I got a WTF value of 13 on my first playthrough. I encountered: The picture The hanged body The cockroach The roaming cow The blue girl Stranger from the house The bee (tho i ignored it lol) Basils grandmother Squizzard spinning "I fucking love air conditioning" Stranger movers Tho i didnt see the hellmari (Probably because I didn't open the door for mari) And I didnt see the watermelon (Im assuming that is in snowglobe mountain which is exclusive to the hikikomori route) I both love and hate this (love because i literally got the highest value on my first playthrough and didn't even know it, and hate because if I knew I could of made a save for early in the game and not overwrite it, allowing me to play through the wtf of 13 as much as I wanted to)
Something I find interesting is that the WTF value is variable 143 in the game’s code- and you need to wait 143 seconds in the Backyard area in Black Space to be able to jump off the tiles to access The Docks.
Omori was such a fun game and honestly one of the best, after i opened the door for Mari and went to the bedroom i was shitting myself.Such a well done game honestly
Oh I never realised that my wtf value was kinda high, I saw the roaming cow and the spelling bee, also fun fact about my run through omori, I didn't know how to run, until I beat the game and looked at the controls, so the spider forest thing, and experiment 667 were tough to say the least
Oh good god. I don’t know how you managed to survive without running, or without suspecting the existence of it either. An RPG Game with no run-button should’ve been a major red flag. A snap decision to procrastinate on looking at the controls must have cost you hours of grueling gameplay. “Tough” is a major understatement. My condolences to you.
@@Forester_Master Same. I've played about a dozen RPG games at this point and all of them had a running mechanic. The only exception is Undertale but in that game, a run button would have only served to ruin the pacing.
I too also did not know there was a run button until I was basically at the end of the game…. imagine how utterly stupid I felt when I decided to press shift while moving for shits and giggles only to realize i was the only clown in the room after all
I'm seeing a lot of people talk about their experiences with WTF values so I wanted to throw in one of my own: At the end of the game when I was trying out all the endings, when I got the other ending the movers were called "Stranger". However, the sprites were that of the normal movers. Are the movers normally called strangers or did I encounter a visual glitch?
I didn't realize on my very first playthrough my wtf value was 13, sadly i missed out on the stuff from the other routes since i did true ending on my first playthrough, but i didn't know the air conditioning thing was so rare i thought it was just a funny joke meant to catch you off guard
Ahahaha. I’m surprised you saw it. I accidentally got it one time but didn’t notice because the room was too dark and I usually had my monitor on low brightness settings. It was only when I looked back at the footage did finally I see it. Needless to say, it scared me sh*tless.

SPOILERS! another secret: the “OMORI” ost has disturbed and distorted yelling of you edit the audio in some type of way, some people said those screams were sunny and mari yelling at eachother and when sunny pushed her down the stairs
So in my first playthrough, apparently I had value 13, cuz I got the “Fucking love air conditioners” line and my friend who recommended the game to me and was watching was freaking out.
Whenever something pops up in this game that's just there long enough for it to blink out of existence, leaving me genuinely wondering if I'm seeing things, I'm left only more confused by the really good and creepy sound design that says "Yes something happened but we both know you don't want to know what". Especially because it got me every single time and at that point I was impressed by how well the game devs could read me. P.S. I F-cking love air conditioning.
5:27 I love this Easter egg! it portrays how Sunny is running away from his fears and worries again by moving away and not telling anyone what happened just like like he does in his dreams as Omori!! Ughhh this game is so good
It makes sense since at the point where this happens, the psychological concept of Sunny in Sunny's mind has ceased to exist, and has completely surrendered to Omori in exchange for protection from his fear and guilt.
WAIT HELLMARI ON THE HIKKIKOMORI ROUTE IS BASED ON WTF VALUE??? AND IF YOUVE SEEN HER???? I THOUGHT IT WAS A GUARANTEED EVENT though it would be weird if you had never seen her/opened the door and then you just saw a weird figure for no reason tbh
I fucking love WTF Values! It's So cool to see ,an already wonderfull game, being stuffed with so many secrets when playing the game more and more and more
The cool thing is, even without the existence of WTF Values, this game already has so many events with such obscure triggers that I doubt it’d make a difference.

Me and a friend played the game and on our first play through I saw the thing in the corner while leaving the house but instead of seeing Stranger I could have sworn I saw Something appear. It was very late at night, and my friend blinked as it happened so I might've mistaken Stranger for Something, but I'm pretty sure Something was there. I have no idea if it was a value thing, or we just did something to trigger it on accident but I'm just putting it out there.
Hm, interesting. The funny thing about WTF Values is that even if you have the maximum value, you are not at all guarantee to see every WTF events. Maybe some specific events triggered it instead? I’ll just have to look into it sometime.
Not gunna lie that bee legitimately pissed me off. Also its like 3AM and 4:10 - 4:30 fucked me up. I been on an Omori Black Space 2 video binge and I've been mostly fine but... That shit hit me hard.
Very interesting. It's pretty funny how this aspect of the game is called "WTF Value". Is that official? If so, it makes sense for a game with lots of unexpected scares.
I’m so sad now I had a wtf value 13 my first run but didn’t know it I thought the air conditioning one was just a gag everyone saw when you first talk to the guy
Cant find anything about it on the internet and I’m not sure if this is a WTF value event or not, but I remember in two of playthroughs, after either the spiders or drowning segment of the omori route, there will be someone in your bed and sunny will back away when you get too close.
I'm not sure if this is a WTF value but I had an encounter with 'something' in one of the blackspace rooms. They followed me and would pause every 5ish seconds to say "Omori, I love you." Has anyone else experienced this?
@@goroborous All that I could get to trigger in the game. There are two more WTF Events but one I cannot get to trigger despite everything, and one that gives CLAMs depending on what your WTF Value is. The latter is really insignificant and really hard to get so I also decided to skip it. I mentioned all of these in the description. If and when more WTF Events are discovered, I will probably make a sequel. If not, well, this is it. Nothing is set in stone yet.
thank you so much! I have been looking for a video that showcases all the wtf events for a little while now, and you just pop up in my recommended, if its ok could you provide more of a description for the hellmari on moms bed, ive been wondering if its route exclusive as ive never gotten it
It’s not a route exclusive, as far as I know. I don’t blame you for missing it, it’s pretty obscure. It requires 2 conditions: -You MUST open the door for Mari at the beginning of the game. (edit) -Your WTF Value must be 6 or higher. That’s about it. Any time you wake up in the real world at night, you can now go to Mom’s room to see the event. If there are any other questions, or if you want even more detail, I’m willing to answer.
@@noux so does that mean that it’s possible to get it the first time sunny wakes up? Or because the door event hasn’t even been seen yet will it not work?
@@ValcomDrifty Edit: Yes, you do actually need to interact with the door to trigger the event. On another note, I does seem like you need to open the door for the event to trigger. My bad. Unfortunately, I have yet to test that and so cannot give you a straight answer. When I do, I’ll let you know. For now, just to be safe, let’s just leave the event until after you have interacted with Hellmari.
I was one of the few who happened to get the max WTF value on my first run, which also happened to be a Hikikomori route so I always get confused when any of these things are missing.
why is hellmari so freaking scary. you get nightmares from this . also seeing basil's grandma, it seems no videos are talking about but did she die? you can see her ghost before confronting basil in the end evening when basil returned from hospital and shuts himself off on the streets, she disappeared. but polly didn't mention anything. I actually thoght basil was already destroyed mentally and with sunny moves his fear of loss getting out of control and that he then went to the hospital but the grandma passed away (which you as player see in terms of her ghost disappearing) to know that basil really feels like he lost everything (becuase i actually think THAT is also contributor to the bad ending when he takes his life, not only the mari thing but literally his fear of loss plus sunny moving plus his grandma died as well, plus mari of course)
So is the WTF value similar to the "fun" value from Undertale, where it picks a number randomly and gives your playthrough a few rare events based on that?
Basically. However, whereas Undertale assigns events to your save file based on what number range you are in, Omori assigns you more events the higher your value is.
If you have the spelling bee, then you must also be able to get the photo event. You must have interacted with it somehow. Though RPG Maker Games, I have to admit, can be kind of weird at times, so I wouldn't be too terribly surprise. If you want to experience the event for yourself (and show it to your dad), I can lend you a save file so you can see the event, among several others if you wish.
@@noux Granted i triggered the photo basically immedeatly after getting to it, and SOMETHING didn't appear 667 spelling bee is much much later so the bulk of my WTF value must've been gotten after dream world 1. I apprechiate the offer but i'll decline. There is a lot of secret stuff in this game, like the vision at the tire swing tree in the vast forest i tried to trigger them, and when it didn't work i told him what should've happened So the effort wouldn't really be worth it anymore
@@NaviJ98 I understand. About the photo... If you interacted with the photo as any member other than Omori, the photo won’t disappear. If you have WTF = 2, the photo will disappear without showing Something. If you have WTF > 2, the photo will disappear and Something will appear for a split second. Since you got the “Spelling Bee” event, I doubt your WTF Value would be 2. It’s more likely that you interacted with it as a party memeber and move on or RPG Maker messed up somehow. There are plenty examples of triggers not working correctly in Omori.
I got the spelling bee one in my first playthrough and that has to be one of my favorite jokes in the entire game. They waited so long but the payoff was priceless
I didn't know that Simple Roach is even related to WTF Value....and Cow. Also I had "Stranger can be seen for a brief second before exiting the house" and "Spelling Bee".
What is OMORI? Omori is a psychological horror role-playing video game developed by indie studio OMOCAT. The game tells the story of a hikikomori boy named Sunny and his dream world alter-ego Omori, exploring the real world and the surreal dream world to overcome his repressed fears and secrets. He is joined by a party of his close friends as they explore the overworld and engage in turn-based battles against fantastical enemies, with status effects based on the characters' emotions. The game has two routes with multiple endings based on the player's choices. (Wikipedia, 2020)
help on my first playthrough I got the hellmari one and just thought it was a normal thing that happened in the game so you’d be scared shitless I didn’t know that was a wtf value Ig my luck was just bad
I remember seeing the "I love air conditioning" in my game since I couldnt stop laughing for a while but I genuinely cant recall the stranger movers during my play through weirdly enough. Either I forgot or somehow didnt notice
Yeah, that event is a little buggy, I think. Some players have told me that they didn’t get the event, even though they had the highest value. That event don’t always trigger for some reason.
No surprise, that's literally what it means :). It literally summarizes our whole collective experience with this value: What the f*ck. Sometimes random things happen for no reason. Other times a whale, out of nowhere, expresses its unconditional love for air-conditioning.
Considering other script names, like the script for Basil's flowers dying being "fuck off plants" and the script for the sequence after letting basil **** himself being called "not my problem," that's probably exactly what it means. The omori devs are absolute trolls
