The Karosa B961 is an articulated citybus manufactured by Karosa between 2002 and 2006. The B961 is the successor of B941 series.
The B961 is structurally very similar to its predecessor. It's a three-axle, high floor, articulated pusher bus, which means that the engine drives the rear axle, just like on the NG272.
The mass production of the B961 began in 2002, but the prototype vehicle, also known as BK4, was built in 2000. The BK4 was equipped with a ZF automatic gearbox, unlike the rest of the series, which had Voith. In 2002 this bus was donated to the DPP (Transport Company of Prague). In 2016 the bus was withdrawn from service due to poor technical conditions.
In autumn 2003 a slightly modified variant was introduced, called the B961E. This type is similar to the original version of the bus, but it has a new front grille and glued windows (instead of the rubber mounted windows on the B961). This series was produced till the end of 2006.
Similarly to the previously released Karosa buses, this one is also very high quality. The model, textures, sounds are great, it drives well, but be aware of the slightly bigger system requirement. As you will probably notice, it can be a bit laggy, especially if the map is a complex one, like Prague. And yes, I did screw up the announcements, but it's still uses the old system from OMSI 1, I totally was not expecting that. Nevertheless, hats off to the Czech modders.
