Not everyone, and I would say remarkably few, learn from experience. It often reinforces their previously held opinion even in the face of facts. Learning from experience is a skill that seems quite rare.
Scott's advice about advice is good advice about advice and advising us about advisory visionary vice or ads is absolutely worth as much of your time as reading this was, if you'd take my advice which I'd advise against.

Great point; or on the 'advice' of the CDC for that matter. However, when you have dozens of reports coming out, bears at least considering, doing your homework, on the merits. Condemnation before confirmation, etc.
In Brazil we use to say something like "If advice were good it wouldn't be for free". 20 year olds love to give career advice on how to be a software "engineer" without a degree. I love it!
