Luminescence it’s always luminescence with PD , I’m prepared to overlook average bracelets and clasps but not the lume . If it was at one of those Cute livingstore sale prices I might be swayed . AR and 200m help though. Thank you for the review.
I would love this interpretation in a bigger case (big wrists!) and without the GMT functionality - a 42mm or 43mm case and NH38 movement as opposed to NH34. My OCD tends to have me lean towards symetery so - a have quite a few no dates. I love the size and super legible PD 1649 (Tag Autavia homage) but the date window spolis it for me. So a PD1649 (Autavia) without the date or a bigger PD1784 (Zulu) without the GMT would tick my boxes!😀 Thanks also sir, for you always informative and engaging content. Always a pleasure to watch!
Nice watch. Nice video as always. I do like the watch overall. I have a green standard Spirit homage which is probably my #2 or #3 favorite Pagani. I really like the details of the dial but... and I cannot state this any more clearly... I am not going to pay nearly $200 for a Pagani. Terrible lume that would cost maybe $3 more to get on the level of Steeldive. They still just randomly put cases and bracelet end links together and hope for the best. Having said all of that, when I see one pop up on a forum or group or Mercari for $75, I'll grab one. Love that dial and crystal!
What is going on with the lume of PD? How much it will cost to get to steeldive levels, at least. So many improvements but the lume is ridiculous, but I'm a lume guy so...
Pagani is easy to deal with. Just avoid all-black or all-white dials, they tend to be boring, as blue and sometimes green dials have mostly interesting brushing or sunbursts. If you can, avoid aged or green lume. Their blue lume is better. Not good, but better. Be aware of the different bracelets. Some are good - like their oyster style, some are meh - like their 5 links, some are just bad as the oyster with the folding clasp w/o divers extension. Got me the PD1784 in blue and I have to admit that I like it. A bit more expensive than I would like it to be.
This watch has a lot going for it. I wonder how much more it would cost to have good lume, always the Achilles heel of Pagani. Personality, I would like the bezel in black.
This is the third review of recent Pagani watches where it looks like they’ve really stepped up their game… two Pagani‘s have made it into my permanent collection, and I’ve been willing to overlook the lume. I am a lume junky and it’s the one thing to tell me back from having more of these.
While I agree that the dial needs a date window, if PD had put a date on the dial, it would have been black with a white background and the complaint would be the date isn't color matched. So, they probably did the right thing by leaving it off.
No date is a massive plus. Why would a gmt need spectacular lume?? The bracelet is the deal breaker for me. I wouldn't want it on leather and natos look 💩 on anything other than a military field watch.
Very beginning right now. Let me guess .. still Bad lume.... Problematic clasp... Also probably ghost date and 120 click divers bezel instead of bi-directional 48 clicks. I sorry wish Pagani design would put effort into sharing off a mm or two and not do those display case backs on nh35s... The no date is my preference most of the time. $150 on sale is still a bit too much for all those flaws. Yet to use a PD bracelet.
NH34 comes with a date function, so it must have a ghost date when positioning the crown? Those end links are just unforgivable, the lume is pathetic and 120 click unidirectional bezel hard pass. Hope to see better homages from other brands in 2024 of the Spirit Z time.
What’s this obsession with lume? Unless you are in the military where you probably use something much more robust on active duty, it is just a watch nerd thing. Almost everyone has a mobile phone which tells you the time on a nice big bright screen. I just don’t get it (yes I know the battery can die but if it’s important get an illuminated G Shock) and I don’t care about lume ! I did when I was like 9 years old with my first watch under the bedcovers. Anyway each to their own. Peace ✌️.
I'm going to have to say it, i hate 40 mm and lower watches. I can't see them until i bring them right up to my face. And then there's this rule about watch sizes. Why? I buy big watches all the time and love that i can easily tell the time. I got a sugsess chronograph recently and while i do love the style i hate the puny size of the watch yet many belivece thats the correct size. In my opinion, its too tiny.
I’ll never buy another GMT from Pagani. The GMT hand has never kept time on both of my previous Pagani purchases. They fooled me twice so shame on me. There won’t be a third fooling.
No good lume, no date at 6 and no bi directional bezel at that price? No thank you. A watch that Pagani would have thought better... a shame, it could have been their best watch... but noo... 😑
