We are on our way to Breckenridge Colorado to take part in the High Country Tour, put on by the Model A Ford Club of Colorado. On day 3 of our journey, we are traveling from Green River Utah to Gunnison CO, when we suffer a mechanical breakdown. Will this end our our tour of the high country before we even get starte?

Nice to see that there are still people out there willing to stop and give you hand when you break down on the side of the road. Please tell your cousin to remove his cap when he sits down at the table to eat. Much respect to you for trusting the Model A, Henry sure knew how to build them way back in the day. Thanks Mr. Ford..

Thank you for coming along for the ride, showing how these car can be used is one of the focuses of this channel. We need to remember people used these cars as their only form of transportation for decades. If they are restored well, you're good to go!

I have taken my hat off my whole life when I enter someone's house or sit down at a restaurant, but I'm not convinced that rule applies for outdoor eating in that kind of situation. I do it, but don't expect others.

I'm glad to see that your breakdown was minor and brief. It's great to see that people are still willing to stop and help. Thanks for continuing to take us along on the trip!

Jeff, yes there are still friendly kind people in this world, despite what the news would have you believe.

looks to me that the newest part of the car, and an unauthorized one too, gave trouble". best wishes

True that!, The only reason I switched to 12 volts is because we do drive the car great distances a lot. You can get 6 volts parts out of a catalog, but not on the road. I've had a coil and a battery go bad on me out on the road, so 12 volts saved my tail. I carry an extra coil under the seat, but a extra battery is not practical. Thank you for your comment, I hope you enjoyed the video's.

Glad your repair was so minor. That was some knock-your-eyes-out scenery.

Thank you, we had a great time, the event was very well organized and the scenery did not disappoint.

Great videos! Enjoyed seeing you in Ely on the way home. We were in the '30 Coupe along with our friend in his '29 Coupe.

It was great seeing your club in Ely. Hope everyone got home safely. Thanks for stopping out on Hwy 50, when we were on the side of the road, luckily it was only for a photo shoot!

I had the pleasure of taking that very drive in May, albeit in a much more recent Ford. Curious as to how the Model A did going over the pass above Austin. You Model A probably would fit right in at the Northern Nevada Railway in Ely. Great drive!

Eric, if you continue watching the videos, you'll see we go considerably higher in Colorado. Truthfully, I was pleasantly surprised how will the car performed at the high elevations. Thank you for coming along for the ride.

The correct pronunciation of "Montrose" is MONT rose; not "MOUNT rose".

Yes my cousin has chewed me out for that multiple times already. I stand corrected. I plead muscle memory, because we live right next to a Mount Rose Mountain, Mount Rose ski park and Mount Rose highway, just south of Reno. My bad! 😃

That's what you get should have 6 volt gen keep your hands in your pockets not under the hood

Hello Richard, appreciate your comment and viewership. On the issue of voltage we’ll have to agree to disagree. Being that we travel A LOT away from home, we’ve been saved on a couple occasions for having gone 12 volts. Blew out a battery once in extremely remote Canada, and a coil another time. Coil you can carry under the seat, but carrying an extra battery is not practical. You can get 6 volt parts from a catalog, but not out in Timbuktu. 6 volts is perfectly fine if you stay close to the barn, but way out of town 12 volts keeps you running. Have a Merry and Blessed Christmas and an amazing 2024!

I drove my Tesla and didn’t break down. Wanna race?
@modelajim1930

You would've run out of charge along Nevada's Hwy 50, there's barely any gas, didn't see any supercharges for 350 miles. When your Tesla is 93 years old, let do it! Wish we had done that when you had your model X, Model A vs Model X, would have made a classic duel video series.
