minute 7:10. I have found that to be true. I have had so many but the spirit constrains from sharing and I have found that, as from shortly returning from mission i got a job at a company and a girl in my work place - a non member - provided her thoughts on something and I provided a scriptural reference which would provide clarity immediately to anyone on my same level of "understanding" but she was confounded and her behavior changed in a strange way. That specific experience taught me how to exercise constraint.
19:52 Am caught in the paradox between "Lay the matter plain before us" vs "to not profane the sacred things." 11 days ago vs 7 days ago. "On keeping spiritual confidence" vs "seeing Christ." It is a paradox a proving of contraries.
I was just going to ask that question. Was Joseph commanded to share it? I recall that the Angel Moroni told Joseph to tell his father and I assume that later visions that are included in the scriptures must have been commanded by the Lord.
That was an essential revelation for the restoration of the gospel. What they are speaking of here are personal revelations the go far beyond the first vision.
I am a little confused on this, are they talking about the experiences they had when being called to the apostleship specifically? or any spiritual experience that anyone has ? I had a similar experience like joseph as a boy and like Alma the younger and have shared my conversion and change of heart with many on my mission and throughout my life so to let others know that the Lord talks to all his children not just Apostles and Prophets. Is this wrong to share my testimony of the events that saved my life and help me understand the gospel better? I sincerely would like to know if this was wrong and if I won't receive any more visions cause of my sharing, thanks.
No man can say yea or nay concerning your authority to speak your experiences .. but the spirit of the Lord which is in you. These things are between you and your Father. If the Spirit prompted you then I think that's good enough😊 You will generally know by that same spirit if you spoke things you shouldn't. God will let you know.
