If I could indicate my understanding of these teachings it would be to point to fifteen home studio albums of original songs in which the imagery was almost always the external world cohering around the internal themes and values of a life; the intimacy established with three guitars, the sore finger callouses and hoarseness of my voice, a single mulitrack recorder, the specific responses of microphones and pre-amps, the atmosphere of the island on which I live, blending with the terrains and forms about which I was writing and singing over decades.
