Only ET was on set with the ‘Cobra Kai' cast as the original ‘Karate Kid’ actors picked up where they left off three decades prior. Exclusives from #ETonline : • NEW From Entertainment...
They keep hyping Elizabeth Shue's return but the best reunion was Daniel and Kumiko and Chozen. Daniel seeing Ali was a little awkward but Daniel and Kumiko's chemistry was intense.
Cobra Kai is literally one of the best things that has happened to Netflix and to America! I binge watched Season 1 when it was out on RU-vid Red in one day as with Season 2. Season 3 was awesome especially with Shue in the last two episodes. It just keeps getting better and better! Cobra Kai can be watched every year and never get old! Even more, it is fun to watch the original films in the middle of the seasons. Lastly, Elisabeth Shue has aged like fine wine! She is still so beautiful! Anyways, going to binge watch all 3 seasons for a second time!
@Beautiful Disaster Yes! You can still watch it on RU-vid Red which is part of Google Premium. Hopefully it does not get removed. It is obviously ideal that it is on both platforms.
@@dendanskehelt4296, They did with the flashbacks, the memories from the original three movies. Pat Morita was it. They can’t replace him with any other actor.
@@zxr8ii Yes, very true. Especially when I realize that Ralph Macchio is 59 years old. He's almost 60 and he's realistically playing the father of an adolescent and not the grandfather.
Pat Morita would be so proud to see how amazing this series truly is. I was thirteen when the original film hit the Big Screen. This series is awesome, and will be just as beloved, for the next generation. 😃
Please tell me there’s one coming for the Karate Kid Part 2 reunion. The Okinawa episodes were incredible. Tamlyn Tomita & Yuji Okumoto still have incredible chemistry with Ralph and each other.
YES! I honestly thought that Daniel, Kumiko and Chozen was the better reunion. Tamlyn and Ralph have so much chemistry still. Also to see Chozen be redeemed was so satisfying. I was honestly crying through most of the Okinawa episodes.
The entire cast has aged INCREDIBLY WELL. Even Martin Kove (Kreese) kicking ass at 76 looks believable. The fact Ralph Macchio is actually younger than the actor playing Kreese's war buddy (even in KK3) is hilarious.
I just want to say, mad props to all of the actors in this show, but I want to give even bigger praises to all the people responsible for the story and script of this show. Your dedication and love to keeping the spirit and energy of the original film while also taking this series into deeper meanings and a bigger view into the older character's pasts and feelings and the key focus on the new generation is pure brilliance. Please keep up the good work and know that we all support you and the actors. Thank you so much for your love and professionalism. May this show live long in the hearts of people for years to come.
I also love the undergog story of the show itself. From season 1 when it got little press attention to now where it's getting a lot. This show deserves so much love.
I didn’t even watch it. Since they had Chan, I was wondering why they didn’t do The Kung Fu Kid. Would have been more original. And could have made it more interesting. Pat Morita did it best. The original three movies were really more meaningful. I even liked the fourth with Hilary Swank because Pat was there. But they needed a more original storyline, was too much of a similar storyline as the 1st.
Awesome come back! It was so exciting to see all the characters again. I watched the movies all over again and just couldn't believe Ralph was already 23 when he made the first movie. He looked way too young for his age and all of them have aged gracefully. I'm counting the months to see season 4. Ah, Kumiko, so beautiful back in the 80s and now such an elegant, beautiful lady.
YES! I love it! I watch it with my daughter who is in middle school. She loves it and we watched all the old Karate Kid movies together. I’m so happy they’re doing this!
Loved Ralph in karate kid and outsider's and dancing with the Stars was rooting for you the entire time . Love cobra Kia too it's great to see everyone again. Good luck
This show is so surreal. Lots of things had to happen for it to work. Beginning with the two main characters still looking good for their age. (Daniel and Billy are now in their late fifties). And the Big 3, Jon, Josh, and Hayden handling the Karate Kid universe with respect and balancing nostalgia with new storytelling. I would like to see Freddie Fernandez (Makin Bacon) and the KK3 cast make an appearance in season 4. Hopefully this show gets at least 5 seasons.
Yep, if Ralph (Daniel) and William (Johnny) weren't in such good shape and didn't still look like their 1984 characters, this show likely wouldn't work. Old fans would watch it, but new fans wouldn't get the connection. It would likely fail. Kreese too... he has held up well for his age, and still looks like Kreese.
@@jesusmagdaleno1831 we don’t know for sure though. It all depends on Netflix. The agreement the creators have with Netflix is for Netflix letting them know in advance if they are not planning to renew the series so they can finish it in that season.
At least we all know that Daniel Larusso and Freddie Fernandez are still friends. We all know he is in the meat industry and he let Ralph teach Karate in that freezer.
I am so happy to see everyone after so many years. They all look AMAZING!!!! Was sad to know Tommy passed away. My condolences to his family and co cast members.
For that comment about Tanner being awkward in the appears. In my opinions it looks like he has stage freight or perhaps a little social anxiety. You can notice how he struggles to make eye contact and he keeps looking at the ceiling. Then you might ask how is that possible hes an actor. Many actors are sht but when they dive into their character they transform because their no longer themselves.
The showrunners of Cobra Kai are true admirers of the movies and it shows. They not only keep the true spirit of the Karate Kid but level up the quality and the story to the next level!! I was hooked since the 1st episode. As I grew up with the franchise I was jaw dropping with such respectful flashbacks after flashblacks. Especially the return of old casts. Wow. Just wow.
Watching cobra Kai was awesome but the last episodes of season 3 made 2021 a totally kickass year! Those 3 characters are the reason why karate kid is so awesome and o wish isn’t over for Elizabeth shue.. I hope she also have a steady come back on season 4 somehow!! The circle is completed now that she joined in!!
I love when older movies have any kind of remake or rehash that they use the original cast, makes it just somthing special, its not not same with different people...not saying it always sucks when it isn't, this was just a smart move and the writers well are just fantastic I instantly fell in deep with this show and even like the cheese parts just an overall good show will hate when it ends and I hope it goes on for a long time...keep it up just an amazing show and it's being done so perfectly and yeah Johnny's story is just great funny and badass lol
@@phillyguy2142 Ralph was already with his wife, Phyllis, then. He met his wife at 15. So I doubt it. But the rehearsal footage looks like she had the hots for him though because there's a scene where she kisses Daniel and it wasn't in the script.
Ralph didn’t have any crush on her. He said they went to see a movie once, just as friends, not in a date and that’s how far that went. Ralph was in every single scene in that movie, he has admitted he even felt he did not belong with the rest of the cast when they were having lunch. The guy was working all the time, most of the interactions he had with the rest of the cast was while rehearsing or filming. His friendship with Billy started when they reconnected during Pat Morita’s funeral.
@@rumblefish9 not really. Ralph met his wife when he was 15, but he was not in a relationship with her since then. He started dating his wife a year before they got married. He said in a recent interview they both went different paths and got into different relationships until they reconnected.
They keep mentioning how down to earth all the actors are. Let’s be frank here; their careers really didn’t go anywhere after Karate Kid movies. Elizabeth Shue had a good run. She looks better in this then in “The Boys”. What ever she did, her facial lines seem less defined. She’s a wonderful actress. I hope Hollywood remembers that. Ralph too. He will always be “Johnny” to me in “The Outsiders”. He was outstanding! I love this show! Thank you for making something wonderful to look forward to in this crazy year of 2020!
i have been a fan of the karate kid since 1986 and i loved cobra kai and watched all 3 seasons is there gonna be a season 4, would love to see another season
The reunió with Ali was good ,, but Kumiko and Daniel- San ; has been the sweetest in my personal opinion,,, my eyes got wet, and that doesn’t happen often in my life . Love the show ..
