It's not as transparent as this interview (she is much more open with certain things that I did not know in the other episode) with Kandi, but she is honest with the story of her career and the things that she did share, which is respected, too! And it is a great way to get another understanding (much love and respect) of how a mighty, triumphant, and strong 💪 woman Nivea is.

After seeing a clip of this interview on Instagram. I watched the whole thing here on RU-vid. I cried so hard at the end because I was in the darkness and shame of addiction. I wanted to stop but didn’t know how. I went to outpatient rehab was sober for 3 months and relapsed. I was at my wits end! After hearing her say she just stopped because she was tired! Gave me hope that I could just stop. I’ve been sober 2 months today. Im so grateful and I thank her for her courage and honesty because she helped me. To God be the glory 🙌🏾 I’m coming to peace again ❤️

This is sad! Parents on drugs. Coming from a broken home. Being raped and molested. Over coming drug addiction. It’s only by the grace of God that she is still standing strong. I have a new found respect for her. I pray that she continues to get the healing that she needs.
If anything came from this intervies, its to PROTECT OUR BLACK GIRLS. So many black women violated as youth grow up harboring pain and resentment they fall in to the arms of men who continue to repeat the abuse. Nivea is a strong woman.

That was such a interesting statement where she mentioned how her children not listening to her as they got older reminded her of how she was being a doormat to people she thought loved her and felt useless. A lot of mothers feel that way once their children get older, maybe not to that extent… but it’s a real thing and feeling
Very!!! As long as I have breath in me, my kids will never go through the things she did. My daughter talks to me about what to do with her hair, so there is no way she would not consult me about major issues. You have to have a friendship with your kids. Not like party with them, but for them to talk to you as they talk with their friends

The phrase I am cancelling for me is: Strong Black Woman Yes, I said what I said. So many of us Black Women who have literally been through all types of traumatic stress, have been forced to have the Strong Black Woman Stigma! Nope, I'm not with it anymore. In my opinion, That phrase right there, has taught many Black Women, to be numb to trauma acting like we are Cement! No we are not. I'm happy this woman is opening up about her experience. I don’t know much about Nivea, I landed here after watching Queens Court on Peacock and randomly googling her. She is beautiful, strong and deserving. You can tell just in this interview her personality is sweet and sincere! I wish the people and men in her life would’ve protected her the way she should’ve been. Her life experiences could’ve broken anyone, but she really shines. Thank you God for pulling her through ❤
When Nivea broke down crying, I broke down too because childhood trauma, postpartum depression, mental illness, and feeling alone and unloved will try to destroy you. I’m so glad and happy that she overcame everything she’s gone through!!!!! 🙏🏾 Thank You LORD

@sassymatazzy My parents were drug addicted so I know the feeling. I raised myself from the age of 12 on. I didn't turn promiscuous but I did throw myself into work and was a perfectionist (which is never realistic). It made me highly susceptible to being disappointed in people. I wanted everything in my life to be perfect. I was trying to compensate for having such a messed up life. There's so much that selfish parents put on their children. It is ridiculous. Neither of my parents ever took accountability for their actions or apologized.
I loved this!! This is why I love Kandi, she is so willing to help.Kandi is that FRIEND that you keep!! Too bad these women always want to try and make her the villian!!

That part where she described feeling overwhelmed with the changes her body went through after the twin??.....Many women can relate after having the second or third child. It's a lot, even if you are thin. Life makes you stressed out and everyone has a valley experience. Loved this interview. Kandi just let her talk. PLEASE!!!!!!!! Somebody give her a good deal whether it be s book, a BET movie, a Tyler Perry movie, record deal, play or something.
Nivea is hands 🔻 down one of the most beautifulest, loving hearted, sweetheart, silly, funny, 🆒, kind, smartest, most REALEST celebrity's out there still shinning in the game, even though she has been through a bunch of trials and tribulations in her life and in the music industry!! She fought a very hard fight taking care of her family financially, overcoming drugs, getting stabbed and robbed by managers and record labels at a very young aged, growing up dealing with both drug addicted parents, heartbreaking relationships, a miscarriage, depression, extreme stress, and finally on to having beautiful children and resurrecting her career🥰!! She's very honest and sincere, not afraid to tell her story/testimony in raw form, without sugar coating it like most celebs do, by lying about their childhood and their journey on the way to becoming adults!! I truly respect her, and she is definitely a legend and a G-O-A-T in my book!!😉

Nivea was my favorite on The Encore. We always knew she has a beautiful voice, but the show allowed us to see what a beautiful soul she is. She wasn't with the drama. I'm so glad she left!! So happy she found her way and that she is learning to love herself again. Kandi, I love the way you loved on her and affirmed and encouraged her to go for it, AND offered your services. I pray nothing but blessings on top of blessings for Nivea. She deserves it.

This is a great interview. My mother was an Aries and she went overboard on giving and taking care of family, much to her detriment, just like Nivea, that is so crazy.
A persons sign has nothing to do with how one drowns in love for their partner. That has to do with the lack of love (affection and attention) received in the child to teen years.
I think she cried while talking about the drugs because that was something she did to herself. The other stuff was stuff that had been done TO her, but her addiction was self inflicted …..and she overcame it

It's because so many people abuse the word now and claim they're depressed anytime they are mildly inconvenienced or upset or sad. Real depression is much more.

I was in a girl group in the mid-90’s and we hung out with a lot of the older songwriters and producers, usually in the studio. One of the girls in our group got pregnant by one of the producers when she was 14 and he was around 35. We had no idea they had anything going on. I think it happened to her because her parents were never present and my mom was around constantly when I was there. This definitely happened a lot back then and it’s so sad how these predators prey on young people.
The fact that her voice was shaky almost the whole time tells me a lot of this needed to be released!!! Nivea I’m praying for you and you’re still young & GOD is still gonna do big things in your life!!! Please please please keep going to therapy & GOD 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Absolutely. Listening to her story changed my view of her. A lot of the times we say "I wonder what happened to such and such artist..." We don't realize what hell people go through behind the scenes. I pray for her continued healing.
Everybody on social media who didn't even bother watching the whole interview had a lot to say about Kandi's facial expressions but she actually did a really good job. She made it very relatable and not your typical "serious" interview. I LOVED it. I can tell she also made Nivea comfortable. Great job 👏🏾. Very sad to hear all that Nivea went through.

That cocaine addiction taught Nivea how to fight back and fight for herself. She still remains one of my all time favorites because she was authentic and could singggg; her and Lil Mo were my girls in school! Come to think of it, a Nivea and Lil Mo verzuz would be amazing! Their energy would be fire!
