Sailed nearby years ago delivering a boat with my dad to Boothbay Harbor and then Camden via mussel ridge channel. Most beautiful trip, was in August about 2002. Not much wind though, had to motor with the Yanmar diesel. Saw lots of seals and porpoise, and smelled the salt sea mixed with the pines for first time, truly beautiful place. never saw so many lobster pots as in booth bay harbor, i told my dad we would get fouled up for sure in that mine field, but we made it. went into town for dinner, then the tide went out and when we came back to the dock after dinner the ramp to the floating dock was as steep as a ski jump! also i jumped in the water as soon as we hit our mouring as i bet my friend, and yeah, the water is cold in August up there ! thanks again for great story and history!
