What a fantastic documentary for the year, thanks to three great drivers for sharing their season and some behind the scenes info with family. Looking forward to 2022 at the BTCC.
Please understand btcc, if your mission was to pull fans closer to the cars, teams, and drivers, you have hands down created that space and mission accomplished, hats off👏👏 2022 will easily have gained in double, its fan base. Amazing work here.
Awesome doco!!! What a great insight to the behind the scenes. Was great to get to know the drivers and the teams that much better. Looking forward to season two and the 2022 BTCC.
I’m not sure about Ash moving to the Ford in 2022, I was confident of another Sutton title win in the Infinity but can’t see it happening now. I think Ash has followed the money maybe 🤔
@@Mors_Inimicis Wow!! Had absolutely no idea!! That’s front wheel drive… I wonder how he’ll adapt having raced rear wheel drive for some years now… I have faith in his unbelievable driving skill and hope the Focus will be fast enough and reliable enough to give my man Sutters a fighting chance to defend his title!!
A bit late to the party, just got COVID and had the time to search out BTCC stuff. Does anyone know the sim that Aaron used or was it a custom job? It looks like iRacing if I'm not mistaken.
This was great but I do have a minor gripe- why make a graphic to tell us the championship standings at the end of each race weekend and then flash it up on screen for less than three seconds??? I can't remember how each weekend finished for these guys, and I certainly can't read five names and numbers and work out the points gaps in 2.5 seconds. 🤯 I don't want to keep pausing the video... I realise that this is more about the human aspects of racing than results, but again, some context would be nice- like when a driver is saying "the first race was good", it'd be nice to have some kinda idea what 'good' meant- Did they start P14 and finish P8... or did they start P2 and finish P3??
I haven’t watch btcc in years, but this was not a particularly exciting doc. A lot of the interviews are drivers spiel, and make the pacing slow. I skipped a fair chunk to see the action. If you do another one more action less talk would be welcomed by me. Good to see plenty of cars in the grid still though.
Arron Taylor smiths optimism in where he thought he would be, still is way off ..even in the 2022 season !How he has a drive, while the proven race winner Jack Goff doesnt, is beyond me. I suppose it all comes down to how much sponsorship you can bring to a team,as Arron is unfortunately out of his depth at this level.
Team hard are a joke of a team and are purely a money-making operation, take drivers money and give them an absolute heap to race. It doesn’t matter who’s driving for them.
@@Sweaty__Sheep Yeah well records don’t always tell the whole truth do they. Rules are supposed to be concrete but as everyone saw they aren’t and just like records can be manipulated. Or to illustrate my point I like Verstappen but that doesn’t automatically make him a more worthy champion in F1 than Ash Sutton in the BTCC. Ash Sutton won his title fairly Verstappen certainly didn’t.
@@Wishful-Thinking Hamilton has had success from rules being bent too. As Masi said "we went car racing" and that was the result. In your opinion, Verstappen didn't win fairly. That's an important adage. Saying he's supposedly a champion makes no difference, he's champion and the record stands. Sutton's driving is better than Verstappen's in my opinion, still aggressive but far better controlled and less risky.
@@Sweaty__Sheep We can split hairs all day long on my choice of words but at the end of the day Verstappen never will be the true 2021 F1 World Champion despite what the records say, we both know that and everyone else knows that even Verstappen fans who won’t actually admit it. Ash Sutton on the other hand like you said fought hard and fair in the BTCC, he won the championship without the help of an inept race director manipulating the final deciding race as such he can feel justifiably proud to take the 2021 BTCC title whether anyone likes him or not. F1 hasn’t come out of that debacle well where as the BTCC can hold it’s head up high as a championship. Sport today especially motorsport is going down a slippery slope where credibility is concerned a similar injustice to what happened in F1 happened in the FIA World Rallycross Championship where penalties were unfairly given to the championship leader ( For another debate ) in order to influence the outcome of the championship. The way it’s going we may as well all just play these motorsport championships on something like a PlayStation when we can all decide the outcome for ourselves depending on who we all want to win until our hearts content. 🙁 Next season I’m swerving F1 and electric Rallycross altogether and just concentrating on the BTCC and the World Rally Championship as I suspect many others will be doing as far as F1 is concerned ( I’ve followed F1 since the 70s and used to compete in Rallycross so this is a big decision for me ) Finally from me it isn’t car racing when someone is given a deliberate total advantage by an inept race director. If Masi genuinely believes that then it’s even more reason he should be sacked if only to try and repair the enormous damage he has done and will do in the future.
