On this tutorial we will go over the task of generating mud using plaster and The ak colors to achieve a very realistic mud effect. You will discover the way to recreate this nature effect, apply splattering etc.
Very creative in using one's supply of static grass. The grass in green is used in abundance in diorama making, and I always seem to have an abundance of it. Adding it to the mud makes sense in every aspect. Excellent tip.
Reviewing this clip to gain more insight, a few more note-worthy aspects is demonstrated. First, that AK Plaster mixed with an enamel liquid (Fresh Mud) is perfectly acceptable (versus the traditional plaster of Paris that must be mixed with water). Also, that Fresh Mud is normally seen in real life as having a glossy, still-wet finish. I am thinking that this aspect can be enhanced by the using a really wet looking compound like a two-part epoxy, on just the lower parts of the plate seen in this clip, while the upper parts can have a flat finish to portray the drying of the mud. This contrast can be heightened by the use of the powdered pigments of a lighter brown along the upper reaches, reinforcing the drying look. Thanks again, AK, for all your clips, they are quite enjoyable and relaxing to watch.
