Super-nuanced review. So many reviewers be like "yeah it's elastic man, just like all the rest except super expensive and nearly impossible to get the hook closed yo". This is the only one for me.
Dude... dude... that was the best review on anything watch oriented I've ever seen. I went in a skeptic. I just bought a different band because of the price difference. Her nearest competitor. Now I wandering if I should have payed more. You made a mundane subject interesting.
I agree with the sentiment. I have tried almost every MN model and they will all have a place but EO has just something extra I can't really describe that brings me back.
I have 4 of Erica's straps and 3 from The Watch Steward and have even tried the Chinese ones. The only time I feel as though I'm wearing an original MN strap is when I use my NDC strap but it's so much material wrapped around your wrist. Right now I love the Minimalist straps from The Watch Steward which seem to be copied by quite a few others now.
I've been wanting buy one but the high price is stopping me. I guess the selling point would be each Erika strap is tailored to size of your wrist, which would be much more comfortable than others. And yes I tried the other "MN style" straps and didn't like it.
What am I missing here? How has this product changed in the last year? The price has increased fairly substantially. But, how has the product changed? If price was no object, then I would buy these. But, my money tree hasn't been yielding well enough for me to behave that way.
Although covered in the video, if you follow the link in the description and scroll down slightly, you'll find a simple breakdown of changes/improvements
@@AverageBros Again, there don't appear to be any changes to the product in 2019, other than an increase in the variety of color options, and an additional hardware finish option. I appreciate that the cost of doing business is rising. This is certainly the best product of it's kind. But, it is as far as I can tell, unchanged from 2018, when she began making the strap material new in-house, as the NOS parachute cord has become more expensive and difficult to source.
Erika’s idea has been copied within 2 years of her releasing MN-straps. At this point I think it is hard to justify the 3 times higher price. Hardware and elastic strap: everything is identic. I understand the different color options and laser engraving should make the difference anno 2020. Curious how this will turn out.
That's the thing, there's nothing else identical to this form of the strap. The elastic band material is actually quite different than what else is on the market today. Hard to get across in video but quite easily to identify in person. Sure, not 'worth-it' for everyone but for some it is.
