Complete spin doctoring by media about the budget deficit. That wasnt Jesses fault. He vetoed that budget & warned it would create a deficit but the state senate forced it thru anyway. The bills that Jesse signed off to himself actually put Minnesota in an economic boom.
Technically Ventura was elected as a Reform, but joined the Independence Party in 2000. Also that election marked the only time the Reform Party gained a major government office.
