Thank you for this thoughtful, sincere reflection on the spiritual value and profundity of the ancients. I am deeply touched. Truth is truth, whenever it is uttered and by whom. However, it is uttered in so many different ways in so many languages, old languages and new, using different symbols and metaphors and images, some of which we can understand and some which we simply cannot, some of which we might simply reject because it does not come in the language of our times. Yet truth is still truth and if we seek it sincerely, we will eventually recognise it wherever it is spoken, in old words or new, modern times or ancient times.
St. Seraphim 's conversation with Motovilov is unique and incredible teaching in Orthodox Christianity, it is proof that Theosis taught by Orthodoxy is true and attainable. All Christians would do well to read this conversation, thank you Theodore.

Ted....whatever happened to your video. "Agape The Call of The Master"...that video was one of the most sincere definition of love I've ever seen and helped me awaken the Christ within.
There is a difference between the cognitive and the spiritual. Nothing wrong with being familiar with Wilber or other modern teachers. But all the useful mental maps and models must eventually collapse and be let go of as one drops to their knees and from head to Heart. Once one “knows about” Reality, then one cannot help but seek to “know” Reality through surrender and devotional to and increasingly as That Love.
