It's a simple reaction to have if tons of people claim they have some mental illness that can't be proven (records, doctor visits, etc) of course the judge would include this. It's nice to think they only look at a person's particular case each time, but the fact is if you see tons of people (clearly wanting free money) reapplying constantly with vague/broad illnesses like depression, of course, you're going to be suspicious of every person which is a good thing.

@@mrcoreynitro Most people don't know about it... Also, it makes people ashamed when they think about getting disability unless you grew up around people that were constantly on it. That's why you'll see families where half of them are on disability, like my friend from High school (2 more accounts of this in my personal life). It's all about what's normal in your upbringing/family, you haven't realized how many people are severely injured? There are tons of people who have excruciating pain from some physical ailment. You can't tell me a large portion of disability recipients have zero illnesses and there's a large portion that has a mild form of pain but they could clearly work fine if they wanted. It sucks for people like me who have to spend months just to get approved, I have multiple proved illness like epilepsy, hearing loss, two broken discs on my back, and even more. I still work it's just harder, sure I could quit any time and get much more money from the Gov. but I'm too young to be lazy.

Shame to see those situations where people that have earned the right to benefits get screwed while screw ups get paid.... Alcoholism is a treatable issue that can be resolved and should be subject to an annual review if SSDI is awarded.

Your 100% correct. First of all drug & alcohol addictions are real and our media and marketing establishments have greatly contributed to this national shame. I am 59 and going to my first Judge Hearing. I have hired a Law Firm but don't feel confident in the outcome. For the record I am retired military ( 22) years and worked in Mental Health and ( 15) post college and military retirement. It just seems the entire system is a con game, played in people that " do the right things" and reward others that do scam the system. I wish all you all the best but have a plan "B".

Alcoholism and drug addiction do not count as disabilities under SS. Look it up.

We’re you approved? I’m in the process of applying because of my bipolar and depression and have to call them tomorrow and I’m freaking out (I have an extremely hard time talking on the phone and I start stuttering and freaking out) all I can think of is the worst. My mom says that everyone gets denied the first time but I still have that irrational fear of being denied and being accused of lying.

So right, I feel the same, I can't help but think alot about being homeless cause I have no hope of finding gainful employment, I tried going to therapy ,had multiple. One broke confidentiality on the third session. The next only showed me material out of self help books I owned decades ago and the last canceled on me two times in a row same day as the appointment, I couldn't mentally handle going through any of this again or I might have completely lost my mind

@@RazorRevenge Before you file you must be under a doctor's care and taking medication for your issue. It is ok to stutter or appear fragile. That behavior goes along with your issue. Is your diagnosis keeping you from working? Like he said in this video..be truthful and be yourself. Not everyone gets denied the first time if you are properly prepared. Watch these videos. my sister got disability for the same issue you have. At first they're going to deny her (not enough documentation), but she started crying and talking to them about how difficult her life has been. Her lawyer took her out ofthe court. When she came back the judge said they had approved it. Be yourself on the phoneand in court. You are not as well as other people..that is what they are expecting.

I don't ever drink alcohol at all so that's the truth completely because I've never been a drinker.

Some people can't drink it makes them really sick I'm a retired healthcare worker and I've seen it many times. Some people just can't drink alcohol at all. I mean I'm sure people have tried it and if it makes you sick over and over again then that's you're sign and one habit that is good not to have. I believe some people when they say that they can't drink alcohol because some are telling the truth and I'm not a drinker at all.

I actually didn't know until i heard Mr. Johnathan Ginsberg videos that you could have other creditable witnesses until i started listening to his videos and that is so good to know. I knew that you could ask you're Dr and all but that's also a very good idea to take notes off all of the videos because thank goodness he has provided us with so many and that is a blessing in itself. I only wish i would have came across his vidoes much sooner, but better late than never because I've actually thanks to Mr. Ginsberg I've hired a real law firm that actually cares about they're clients and they actually answer the phone and answer any questions that you have and that's a professional attorney because the old one i had before i don't even know how he stays in practice that's the truth. His videos are a major blessing and have helped in so many ways and i watch them every chance that i get. I couldn't thank him enough.

Monebyrd i think its pretty crappy for the judges to purposely try to trip people up on such trivial stuff. I ended up havn to go in front of an ALJ ( administrative law judge) and a panel of 5 people total at my hearing. My atty told me that i got the most difficult ALJ in the entire state. I have 7 drs and a huge list of medical issues and they still made me go to their dr that was also a physical therapist. He tried to get me to do stuff as a test that my body just cant do. I had to ride 4 hrs round trip to see their dr too. Of course,i didnt drive and we had to stop several times so i could get out and walk a few mins. I was still in so much pain by the time we arrived that i was almost intears. The string bean question was totally crazy of him to evn ask. Im glad you were finally able to get ur case settled. I have heard such things myself. Manicured fingernails mean you can sit long enough to get a manicure. I have learned you have to watch your front and your back as well.

Those judges need to be put into forced labor camps in another country.

If you testify at your hearing that you're homebound and can't leave the house and then are spotted walking out of Walmart you deserve to have your benefits stopped. The simple truth is that you need to be honest with your limitations and not overplay your disability. Besides the question of credibility at the hearing it makes you easy pickings for a review when you go out and do all the things you claimed you couldn't after you are awarded SSDI.

I think currently they're so overwhelmed somebody said they had files up to the ceiling so I don't think they have enough people to run around and film people anymore... but if they want to come and feel me trying to walk a couple steps before I have to sit down they're welcome to do it... I'm sick of filling out forms when all they have to do is come and look at me it's just stupid a picture's worth a thousand words as they say

Early bed-time without radiation from cell phones, PC, alarm-clocks, no electric blankets or low-energy light bulbs, but buy incandescent or halogen ones. Do whatever suitable movement you can, sun /daylight walks in nature is very good, even slowly and short. get off all sugar and refined flour, esp wheat. get gluten-free and eat only organic, whole-grain cooked. Oats is good for most ppl, and has energy. Brown rice, Millet, Buckwheat. Check what blood typeyou are, 0 is especially needing gluten-and dairy, - sugar free. Need meat, animal protein. good quality, and not too much.(acid-forming, and the modern factory-meats are not so good for health, eat many vegs too. Stop the night-shade plants, potatoes, tomato, aubergine, peppers. Stop dairy, make your own milk from soaked Sesame and Almonds.8not the fake "milks") Eat many cooked vegetables of high nutrients , daily carrots with some good quality fat, and broccoli and other cabbage sorts. make bandaid with pressed cabbage leaves on pain areas. Don't mind the smell, pain relief is focus. Eat good, healthy meals 3 x daily at regular times, that will help yopu body plan and prepare digestive juices, save energy and be calm, which will leave it to have healing energy left to work to heal. Stop any addictions, alcohol, cigarettes, snuff, drus and all or most coffee (acvid-forming, Yin, which we modern people get too much from in everyday life, from radioactivity etc. Do prayer and meditation daily. practise gratitude and appreciation for what you have , even tiny things that you used to take for granted. That will give healing activity , because that is what we were made for, feeling good and loving, appreciative. Work at forgiveness of all who have wronged and harmed you. I was 9 and took care of younger siblings because my single mom had to work. Not ideal.

My brother and I raised ourselves. I cooked ,washed my clothes and got myself up for school.

Yes i did that back in the day and walked to the bus stop and i wouldn't let my children when they were smaller do that because times have changed so much and it's not safe at all. I remember always being scared sometimes because it would still be dark outside walking to the bus stop and there was a patch of woods and that area i would run past because you couldn't see what or if someone was in there. The cool part was the bus stop was in front of my grandparent's house and i remember one time them picking up a man for hanging around that area not cool.

When I was in kindergarten to the middle of second grade, my family lived within walking distance of my elementary school, so my older brother and I were sometimes allowed to walk to school ourselves.

Too bad, and me too. If you use a lot of cell phone, memory loss is one of its major detrimental side effects, harm effects. Also TV and computers impair life energy and brain function, over-working our brains and nerves at the same time as putting us to semi-sleep. i use a wire/cord telephone only, get too sleepless and stressed by cell phóny. We should all speak up against the 5.G disaster they are wanting to impose on unknowing civilians, which is 100 x worse. .

Amen, I can't keep anything straight, can't remember where anything is. Have looked through all my possessions countless times just to find one thing. Then stuff comes up missing and I don't know weather to blame myself or suspect the person I'm staying with. I am malnourished with stress disease and sleep deprivation since 22 years, and burnt out as a consequence of not getting the help I need but badly abused if not tortured instead. Have you checked so that you are not burnt-out and malnourished? There is much less nutrients in today's soil and in food than before.Stress stops us from taking up. i wish I had this good man to help me legally. They took my home, money and rights to control me without me even knowing they had a problem with me. The problem wouldn't be if they had provided me the assistence to manage everydaý life and going to the Dr etc. Not ever getting my basic needs met makes it impossible to be normal.Add the terrible fear everyday from not knowing why they harm me so and hate me. I am known to be a kind, helpful, compassionate woman. Not even criminal offenders are treated this badly . I Am being stressed to death and much worse diseased than when I sought help. Back pain and anxiety are two of the most common conditions that SSA sees so they make it very difficult to win unless your condition is extremely severe.

It is diificult for me to admit some of the problems that I have. I prefer to talk about the success of my survival. The truth is full of embarrassing topics. And it's especially hard to tell someone who is not medically trained. Besides my doctors, the only person who knows everything about my health conditions is my son. He lives with me and helps me so he knows about a lot of things first hand. The truth is ugly and it is not natural for me to talk so openly about the gritty details.

Ditto. I suffer from TBI from a car accident on my way to work. I can remember how I used to be and things from my past, but everything since the accident is dreamlike, memory is hit and miss, mood is wacked out and I am on meds for that now, can't do what I used to. I feel like a usless blob. Maybe receiving SSD will help to alleviate some of uselessness.

I would think about how your conditions negatively impact your reliability and dependability at work. That is the main issue in an SSD case. Try to be very specific. For example if your autism makes it difficult to pick up on social cues then you would likely not be effective in a customer service job. If your bi-polar results episodes of severe depression that prevent you from getting out of bed 3 or 4 days per month, your reliability at even a simple job would be a problem.

@@DawnSuCallahan my lawyer said that he thinks it went amazingly, i only was present two hypothetical scenarios with jobs and immediately it went down to zero jobs. he also told me that the judge believes me and in what i was saying which was the best outcome in my opinion but i still have to wait on a decision. i will update you when i receive that lolol

I feared they would forget about me instead of helping to rehabilitate me, which they promised not to, but did.You look young, did you want it? My Dr wanted me to have peace for health, but without treatment and personal assistence, or even diagnoses for 24 years, there could not be much peace. what are you doing now? Getting better?

You absolutely need an advocate with you at all times. Theybcan read the questions and write the answers. You can get them to do all the leg work and drive you. Document everything thry do for you because you are unable. It is conducive to your medical situation. Be good to yourself and ask for support.

But they deceived, schemed and organized secretly machiavellianly without a legitimate reason and even my knowing an unlawful "guardianship", who imposed himself on me without my accepting or agreeing, has stolen my money, according to my bank. And has not done anything for me or even met me. And the bank giving it him. Letting me exist homeless and begging, in very very bad health state and multi-traumatized by them and others, unable to defend myself and being misunderstood. I can't believe this to have happened in a ´civilized democrazy. It's always good to make a daily journal for some people that away they can remember what they did, what they needed help with and so forth.

Vicky, it depends on what your medical records say - do you have support from a long time treating doctor that because of your symptoms/med side effects that you would not only be precluded from CNA work but from any type of entry-level work? I would also look at the grid rules (see www.gridrules.net) as an argument in your case.

I suffer with anxiety loss of memory and I got confused when the judge ask me can sit down with pain but in my mind yes i sit down with pain correct? but the trick question was how much can you lift and I said well we was lifing on my last job 25 pounds of box tissue and we had to move heavy tables and chairs weigh-in about 200 pounds but when he as the parson about the jobs could I do, it dawned on me I said Omg he was talking about since my health conditions how many pounds can i can lift, he didn't make question clear, so do you think my chances for getting approved is dead!😰

@@ssdattorney but am on medicine for my is anxiety, but the man health problems the judge was focusing on is my back problems, I have spinal stenosis and arthritis in my back, well arthritis all over my body down to my feet's, and plus not to mention two herniated disc nerve damage, stabbing pains in the back of my head from a herniated cervical disk on the right side of my neck

Citizens Disability? Yeah they suck they didn't even collect medical records for a period of 2years time. Judge gave me 30 days extra and I collected them and turn them into the judge myself. Still waiting on a decision.

My experience has been that it is very difficult to win SSD as an adult based on ADHD. You would need extensive records from a treating psychologist and psychiatrist that your condition prevents you from working. SSD judges see a lot of mental health cases - depression, anxiety, schizoaffective disorders - that often create severe symptoms that impact not only work but activities of daily living. In my experience they don't put ADHD into that category. If you were approved you could work but only at below substantial gainful activity limits.

I really think it depends on what judge you get... I think that there's so many stories but the main point is can you originally do the job you had not can you qualify for a job that you might be able to do a couple hours a week and not have a living wage

jillibeens57 I 3 years you will have a review and they can take your benefits away and tell you you owe money back that happen to my son. Document everything and keep going to the drs to keep your records and illness current. My son stopped going to the drs cuz these wasn’t helping his problems and it backfired for my son

You can represent yourself but you will be much better off with a lawyer. I do understand your frustration. Lawyers in this area don't get paid unless they win and it is hard to have a lot of enthusiasm for a case when you know going in that the odds are not in your favor.
