Lata mangeshkar was a tyrant. Never allowed anyone to come up. Good singer ONLY in the 50s after that voice had cracked and wasn’t that good but because she was so powerful in Bollywood she called out the shots . Asha Bhonsle had nepotism to her advantage .

I had heard about this from my grandfather. I wasn't sure how true it was because I couldn't find much on the net, so I'm glad that this was addressed in this video. And I'm not at all surprised. It is not possible for singers to bag that many songs in their career without resorting to tactics to maintain a monopoly. Unfortunately, as per what a couple of singers like Sonu Nigam, Jonita Gandhi and others have mentioned, there is a similar monopoly in present times by T-Series. As much as I love Arijit, I hope to see other singers get their dues as well. Anuradha maám is a wonderful singer who will be appreciated in her own right.

There r variety kind of essence, jonours of songs in India.. Anuradha Ji is off course a talented respected very famous singer of India; But there r other kind & essence of songs of other singers which Anuradha Ji never explored; similarly the songs which Anuradha Ji sung other singers have never explored; So, everybody have shown their skills in their respective jonour of songs.. In this regard it is meaningless to declare someone as the 'best, only one ultimate singer, raani of music'..; 😢 So, far art craft music is concerned there is nothing called the best..; Nomoskar 🙏 (From West Bengal- India)

It’s really unfair how Lata Mangeshkar dominated film music for so long - not only for other singers, but also for the listeners. As lovely as her voice and singing is, we were robbed of variety of music and also type of female singing voice. We just grew up thinking that the only kind of good singing voice is the thin soprano voice like Lata’s and never got to appreciate different tones and voice types along with the music that suited those, except on exception

It's terrible how she blackmailed Bollywood music directors that she won't sing for Bollywood anymore if they let Janaki Amma from South to sing in Bollywood, they made Janaki Amma to travel to mumbai all the way from South and made her go back to South India. Because Lata ji knew Janaki Amma has more finest voice and control over her voice and can dominate Bollywood pretty easily. South Indians liked Lata ji a lot, till this indent happened. If Janaki Amma had debuted at that time, The title nightingale of India wouldn't have been given to her. Lata ji surely had a great voice, but it doesn't have to mean she was a good human being. She did everything to keep her spot and the process wasn't included with only music.

Lata, Asha are legends...As far as singing is considered. Can't comment/predict about their Moral values. Anuradha n Alka both are very good singers. Original voices, not copy of Lata and Asha. Rafi Saab has sang a lot of songs with other female singers throughout his career right until 1980s, but Lata is Lata. What she said about Rafi Saab. Shahid Rafi gave a great response to Lata ji in a press conference. Rafi Saab was no doubt the greatest singer and had a big golden heart for all other people in need. We won't find any big personalities like him in this world. He was a God fearing person.

You are totally wrong Alka ji has X factor which was missing in all her contemporaries. Anuradha ji is great singer no doubt but Alka ji has unique specialties that's why she is ruling in 90s.And for your kind information Alka ji is 100% better than Anuradha ji. Alka ji is next to Lata ji because of the X factor.
