Capturing Majestic Black Bears 

Yup, that is a tense encounter given the 3 cubs. I have had 11 solo bear encounters in the Whites, all but 1 who has run from me. I usually turn around right away at that point, except the time I was too deep into a loop to turn around and the bar ran ahead parallel to that trail, so I know that feeling!

What an encounter! I've had a couple of those and had to bushwhack through nasty stuff to get around them. But, I didn't get nice photos like you did - only had my Gopro. It's good to get the heart pumping full tilt once in awhile! haha
