Kevin, I want to thank you so much for coming out to the house to help my Aunt Carol. It's been a long and rocky road since my grandmother had fallen and broken her leg in July, we are slowing getting everything taken care of so my Grandmother can safely return home (she's tough at 91 years old) . I appreciate everything you had done, I enjoyed the back and forth banter, negotiating on prices. I felt like we were on American Pickers. I am absolutely blown away by your generosity and constant communication and transparency. We hope to have you back for a round 2 and may even have another private pick for you lined up in the near future.

Many people, even some experienced sellers, don't really get how important it is to buy inventory at the right price - you cannot sell in volume if you have to price too high because you pay more than you should. People who don't sell for a living have no clue that in addition to overhead, there is also a certain amount of hidden damage in every buy, along with a few scammy buyers, platforms issuing refunds that aren't justified, etc. eating into the bottom line. Your idea of giving Carol a larger cut of the items that were way more valuable than you expected was spot on IMO. The vast majority of dealers would not have done that. She is lucky that her nephew was helping her rather than someone who either would have taken everything to the dump (and asked her to pay the dump fee) or sold it for a song to the first dealer he or she talked to for whatever price was offered.

Kevin, like always you're going to have folks saying you should have taken the $500 or haggled them down. But you offered $800 and told them more might be coming if it factors higher. You're doing the right thing man.

Aw see this is amazing. I’m so glad I found your channel. There are so many pickers, resellers, etc- who haggle people down when they know they clearly have a great deal already - some have big yt channels - and I hate it so much. It’s such a scummy thing to do. So seeing you refuse to only give them $500 was amazing, seriously got a little choked up; had a “faith in humanity= restored” moment. Thank you for being a good, kind, person!

I completely respect how you handled this. You're offering very fair prices plus going above and beyond by giving more once you know more about what your profits are. No one does that. Much respect. Some people get offended if you pay too little. Others get upset if you pay too much. There is no pleasing everyone. Many people don't realize the amount of work that goes into picking, researching, cleaning, testing, photographing, writing descriptions and details, listing, packing, shipping, etc etc. You definitely earn every penny you make. Keep being you and doing what you think is right. It's obvious your heart is in the right place.

This sale was INSANE! It makes you wonder just how many people are sitting around with GOLDMINES in their house of items they never seem to touch - just stuff they have picked up over YEARS of gathering. Your previous student is a true blessing to you (to reach out to you about this), but also to his family for helping to care for them as they age. As a newer reseller I'd love to have a tape gun as I haven't taken on that expense yet (just 4 months into reselling), so I'm still using the little plastic red dispenser for my tape - makes full boxes a bit challenging to tape up when I'm trying to squeeze them together and use the small tape dispenser. Haha!

So cool. It's a well deserved private pick for someone who has taught all of us so much in such a lighthearted way. All of us Millennials are scrambling to collect our childhood memories. This was a killer haul! I've also never seen one of the sega menacers in the wild. This is why I always look at the vhs tapes at yardsales and thrift stores. The movie memorabilia was awesome! The tape gun was a pretty cool find as well.

I’m a new reseller in the game, I mostly deal with video games and handhelds. However I came across your channel a month or two back. My fiancé and I love your videos. @@alyssakurfuss7537 yes! now try doing it after breaking your shoulder and humerus (bone between the shoulder and elbow) I shattered my shoulder, no fixing it. between that and static electricity sucking the tape back onto the roll and the 5 mins.it takes to unstick it after finding the 'start' again, I don't know what I hate more, tape or hangers that love to tangle!

This is my first time getting to watch this video ( Better late then never) I own a company (estate removals & clear outs) and the way we work with our clients is identical to how you took care of this family. We personally haven’t run into items of this value but I’m sure one day we will. I love how transparent and considerate you were with this family. It was a win for everyone. I’ve seen a lot of companies and business take advantage of people. Its a breathe of fresh air to see another like minded human that is just trying to be genuine and caring. This is why your my favorite picker. I had a booth for some time and looked for the same items. But, for the most part could sell them there and not on ebay there. I was sitting here going EEEKKKKEEEEEKKKKK.. What a blessing and a find! This folks is why you are kind to people and they remember that kindness, always! I think your strategy was spot on. I did something similar with a friend who offered me free rein in her mom’s estate and I wasn’t sure how much everything was worth. I gave her cash up front and called her when I found out how much some of what I’d already paid for was worth and told her I’d be sending more. She was happy. I was happy. Win win.
