There were a lot of visual similarities in Sergio Leone’s films. Like the scene in this film where noodles sees his friends dead in the rain and in duck you sucker where John h Mallory sees the revolutionaries shot by the firing squad in the rain.
It's young noodles, the scene didn't change into old noodles, it's probably just because his smile is focused on from the see through fabric at the opium den.

It is the only time Noodles smiles throughout the movie...since it ends in an opium den at 33 yrs...probably means his older yrs was an opium induced dream.
Wonderful movie , but ,in one of the cutted scene Max and the leader of cendica were talking ,Max sign the contract ,give to hım it ,his fortune gave the sharky and menaldi .because Max said to noodles the game over for me
Unbelievable to walk into an opium den and get high to walk into the Corner Drug store and get cocaine or morphine I'm 80 years old and you could go into any drug store in the country laudanum and many cocaine mixers still available but if you were caught with one joint of marijuana you would spend the rest of your life in prison Free People in free states should be able to use recreational marijuana
Nah, it wasn't a dream I can see where some may think that but they're analyzing way to deep into it. Plus, not really Sergio Leones style to say oh, it was all a dream

Near the end, Noodles robbed Max of everything You don't even try to kill it, you're just stunned. It was strange. Originally, it should have been extremely expensive. No, I could have killed him.
