Went to see this film at my local cinema in 1970. I was 18 and the combination of the beautiful Claudia and this haunting musical masterpiece had tears rolling down my cheeks, much to my embarrassment and the amusement of my pals. Worshipped Ennio ever since.
This is one of the top "Western" movies . Great music, scenes, perfectly selected actors, and a theme true to the growth of the west. This is a classic !
I have this soundtrack. I have watched it over and over. All the actors were great. And Claudia was outstanding. Beautiful she was. My husband and I watched it quite a few years. I think of him when I watch it now. I only wished that he were here with me.
I watched this masterpiece amongst masterpieces 45 years ago and since then i am love with Claudia Cardinale... she was a Goddess and she will be forever in my dreams!
Never thought id say that the best western of all time was a Spaghetti Western that Clint Eastwood didnt star in, but Once upon a time in the West is not only the best Western of all time, it is also one of the best movies of all time..
Caudia Cardinale was and still is even in her 70s a very beautiful woman, I will always remember her and the music from this film, probably the best Western ever.
Beautifull music and a epic movie. The best there is. And i named after Claudia Cardinale, when my Mother found out she gonna have a girl and she and my dad saw this movie, all they tought our daughter has to be named Claudia.
bitmaxim I agree, she always was, and is beautiful. I wish i looked like her, when (if) im 75. Plus, no matter what we look like. We all know she was shaking the earth back in the days. Behind the older face is still the same woman, just more experienced/rich. If you talked to her eyes to eyes (birdymaniac), i doubt you would dare to say something bad.
if she was not so pretty before then nobody was talking about her whats so important about the outside anyhow? the inside is important but nobody care about that kind of people
Marone! 😘 There are few films that can pair a woman and music with such astonishing beauty, but Leone did that with the gorgeous Cardinale & the sumptuous Morricone score. Even in 1000 years this will not be bettered or forgotten. Bellissimo! 😍
One of the most beautiful actress at the time - Claudia Cardinale playing in one of the best western movie "Once Upon the Time in the West", I watched this movie few times and I classified this movie as the best western along with "Lonsome Doves". Great movie, great acting, and great entertainment. Hollywood will not produce such classy western movies anymore - sad.
This film will last forever. Anyone who sees it cannot but admire its solid story, intrigue, characters and cast. The more you watch it the more beautiful you realize it is.Each particular character has their own 'music' that transends the plot and adds depth to their involvement with eachother. Even though they all end up without what each originally hoped for and thought would obtain, everything is resolved in a way each knows must be left as the status quo. And what buautiful music too.Enjoy
I think this Film is the Most Fantastic film i have ever seen, and Claudia Cardinale' is a Beautiful and Wonderful Lady, and i instantly fell in love with her the first time i saw this film, when i was 12 years old.
52 people don`t like slow westerns i suppose. This is a masterpiece, the music, the whole movie. It`s one great opera on film. Almost Leone`s best................Once upon a time in America is his greatest in my humble opinion.
Of yourse this is the best Western I've ever seen and it will always be. I'm so grateful to Sergio, Ennio, Charles, Jason and Henry...but most to Claudia Cardinale for acting so precise and being so beautiful in a strong womans role. I truly admire her for this.
This is the original and best version of this song because it includes the incredibly beautiful voice of soprano Edda Dell'orso. I am totally mesmerized by her voice, and the composer Ennio Morricone is an absolute genius as far as I'm concerned. Thanks for posting this video.
This movie had it all the most Beautiful of all Leading Ladies in Claudia, the greatest tough guy ever Charles Bronson. One of cinema's greatest actors in Henry Fonda and an All Star cast, the cinematography, writing and score. WOW!!
Claudia Cardinale! Es la mujer que mas me gusto y admire de todas las artistas mujeres de esa época, y esta película la vi en 1969, tenia yo 19 años, ahora voy que vuelo para los 65, los cumplo en octubre, ya es mayo 2014... Saludos.
This is one of western movies that I liked, Amazing quality of the movie and the characters, Mainly CLAUDIA CARDINALE, as I was in love with her Beautiful, fantastic.
The combination of casting, photography, music, and story-telling make this one of the best. "This is how it is done." And C. Cardinale was every bit as stunning and magnificent as one could hope. You can see why. Henry Fonda called his work in this film, his favorite role. There's a lot for the actors to do, and not much of it's with words - the script is very short.
I was on the set of 'Once upon a time in the west' . I learned how to become a good DP from Tonino Delli Colli. One of the best DP I ever knew! Yes, Claudia was and still really beautiful. To me, it's the best western movie ever made. We shot in Techniscope...It was a long time ago.
Edda Dell' Orso. Oh my what a singer. The leitmotifs that Morricone produced are easily some of the most recognised in film and music history. Morricone is right up there with Bach and Beethoven and Debussy if you ask me...G...
I just feel, the struggle and the pain and effort woman in these times had to deal with. There was so much beauty in that time yet so many horrors. I dont want to say it was better in the old days, but yeah i feel i would have liked it there sometimes this world goes way to fast
Such beauty is almost unearthly, thanks for the extreme closeup like Mr Leone would have done. The music says her beauty, like the old west, preserved on film like in amber, a time that was which will never be again. She is old now....
"The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" is also one of the best movies of all time, in my opinion. So is "Once Upon a time in America". All directed by Sergio Leone. Makes you think. What a great man, right?
A bilion of books in the whole world and the words puts in them can not describe the moment and what you feel and see when you look her in those amazing eyes. I just can not stop looking them.....
