Another long video; I talk a lot, it’s a curse haha. Surgery is finally behind me! I mean sort of, it still hurts lol.
Information:
My first round of chemo was on May 17, 2019. My first four rounds (out of eight total) will be AC chemo, so I am receiving Adriamycin “Red Devil” (Doxorubicin) and Cytoxan (Cyclophosphamide).
July 12, 2019 I started the second part of my treatment; four rounds of Paclitaxel (Taxol), done every two weeks and eight rounds of Herceptin, done every week (and then every three weeks for a year from the start date).
Diagnosis: Locally Advanced Invasive Ductal Carcinoma in left breast with node involvement (three)
Type: HER+ | ER/PR-
Stage: 2B
Date of Diagnosis: May 1, 2019
Age at diagnosis: 34
Genetic testing: Negative, variant of uncertain significance BRCA2 retesting in two years
Chemotherapies: Adriamycin, Cytoxan, Taxol, and Herceptin
Schedule of treatment: eight rounds of Chemotherapy done every two weeks, broken into four rounds of two, lumpectomy with a complete axillary dissection of lymph nodes (ALND) on the left side, balancing breast reconstruction, 25-35 sessions of radiation, and Herceptin injections every three weeks for one year

Awwww I’m so sorry you have to face this but I’m glad I could help in a tiny way. Just remember, it eventually comes to an end. It feels like forever in the moment but I promise, you’ll get thru it. Much love ❤️

1. I definitely didn't have to deal with all the soap stuff. That sounds dumb. 2. Ugh I'm so sorry the wire placing and stuff had to hurt so bad. That bruise is so lovely lol 3. I hate the pain scale 4. I was eventually (after my drain was removed) able to sleep on my right side by putting a big pillow over on that side that I could put my left arm on top of. The pillow had to be high enough so that when I rested my arm on it, there would be no pressure on the arm pit. I could only lay like that for a little while because eventually my breast would get sore from hanging a little, but it was nice to be able to have one position other than on my back to sleep in for at least a little while. 5. That is crazy that they didn't have those conversations about reduction in the pre-op! How did they even prepare for that if they didn't ask you those questions or know what they were doing until the day of? 6. I'm so glad you had such great results!!!! 7. You are always so funny when you explain everything. I love it!

Samantha Lynn I’m trying that pillow technique as soon as my right boob is able. He’s almost there. The lymph node side isn’t even close. Do you remember the video when your cat hit your arm and you were like “don’t, it hurts” and I was thinking omg he barely touched her could it really hurt that much?! IT REALLY HURTS THAT MUCH. Sometimes my clothes touching the back of my arm hurts lol. Stupid nodes

I'm so happy for you everything went well overall. You've handled this step like a champ! P.s. I am one of those who are always super nauseous after surgery or any anesthesia. I'm glad you aren't like me! 👍

Oh and I agree about the assembly line for the hospital here. I've hsd surgery in two other hospitals since I'm from down south and I definitely was given way more time and patience there versus here. Maybe its the cutbacks, I don't know. But its not fun. 😒

Rantings of a Child's Beautiful Mind it’s a bummer cause you already feel so miserable and then you have to get dressed and go home! I’m glad mine wasn’t an overnight thing because I feel better at home but I wish recovery could be as long as the surgery itself!

@@MissTiaPet agreed. I always want to get home too but sometimes you just feel too sore or sick to move, and being given the time to feel better would be nice!

Holy Moly woman, what a trip! You have to pity people that post nasty stuff because they are pathetic. You are strong and a winner. Warning, boobs have a tendancy to grow back with weight gain. And just how much radiation does it take to glow in the dark? Maybe you won't have to worry about a Halloween costume this year! Keep up the fight!
