Ondo Rante is a Dutch heritage building in the form of cement stairs which was previously built for inspection of the Semarangsche Waterleiding pipeline (now PDAM water).
Although only steps and a bridge connect Pudak Payung with Pakintelan Gunungpati, this object was popular in the 1970-90s era. And what's more interesting, there used to be a lot of monkeys until now sometimes wild monkeys are still found there
There was a decrease in visitor interest. And the location becomes very scary. After a disaster happened to 15 students of SMP Barunawati in 1982, now the Ondo Rante route is only used by residents of Pakintelan who want to trade natural products to the Pudak Payung Banyumanik area, Semarang.
In addition, after so many years the Makodam was built, access to Ondo Rante was not as free as before. However, getting to the location may now be easier and more comfortable from the Pakintelan Gunungpati village side with a slightly sloping trail route compared to the Pudak Payung route with a slope of almost 40 degrees.
From Ondo Rante and also Gemah Cave which are nearby, the scenery is very good with verdant natural scenery and the rocky flow of the Kali Garang river looks meandering downstream.
