I’m no expert for sure and I don’t want to pretend to be . However this is how I understand what He means by shake it off . If we hold limiting negative thoughts of ourselves then we need to let go of those as they weigh us down . Like the example he gave of the man hunched over carrying the wood. Then begin to accept our true nature . To turn within and feel the Is while we are here because one day we won’t be .
It's like there are a thousand ways for me to get confused about what is really important. Your reminders are so direct they stick with me and really help. They even seem to help others who are struggling when they share their emotional and mental difficulties with me, I harken back to your words and perspective. My practice gets better daily. One of the greatest gifts in my life has been discovering the message of Prem Rawat, nearly 47 years ago. Thought about it for myself : focus on that within which is totally different by nature . then question comes: do i have the patience and determination to focus and keep it that way or do i want to start over and over again ? Is it possible to see the transformation each moment as it comes and nothing accumulates so that nothing more to shake it of ??? auto-cleaning ? i do remember Prem spoke about "the presence in the present " so time s up, urgency to learn that?
