Ken, I had to pause the video for a while after watching you nail down the plywood roof panels, I was completely exhausted and nearly done in. Not only are you an excellent videographer/narrator and gifted engineer/housewright you have the energy/spritelyness to outwork a teenager.
Chad, I think was your helpers name, you need to give that guy a raise. He is an asset to the way you build. He had material right there when you needed it. It was fun watching y'all work together. Both knowing what the other is doing. Great video.
You are definitely correct with your assumptions Victor!!! I know a new guy starting out is “green” , … but what gets extremely frustrating is when you have someone working with you on any project that obviously doesn’t want to be there or just doesn’t want to work for a living!!! Now add someone with no retention with what he’s learned and this can be because he’s a little “slow” or daydreaming about something!!! I wish I could produce a video on what I’ve witnessed in my lifetime, … but you only need to watch an episode of Laurel and Hardy to see that!!! PS: when I mentioned “slow” , … I’m not cutting down a person with special needs!!! I’m talking about the guy you give instructions to and he’s got the “deer in headlights” look!!!
As a old retired construction worker, with a Dad, Grandfather, and other family members who also did/do construction, it's always nice to watch someone doing "nice" work and doing it quickly, efficiently, and organized via taking the time and effort to figure out how to be so accurate, organized, and never waste a step. Most modern/current workers don't possess the work ethic, pride in their work, or care about any of the above. Thanks for upholding the "Craftsman" tradition !!!
I wish I could make a house like that. Helped recently to dig foundation and put concrete floor for my garden house. First experience in such construction. The house garden is bought. I will soon help to install it. One of my dreams is to make a wooden house. Maybe it will never happen due to age and family situation but I love to see these type of YT. It keeps my dreams alive. One never knows what is next.
Merry Christmas guys, As a old timer….I found out that you can use Diesel truck airline antifreeze in your air compressor to keep your air tools from freezing up so bad in the winter. It worked for me with air chisels. And have a happy new year too.
With the way you and crew worked so smoothly together, and the way you explain what you are doing, you have gained another subscriber. It's been many years since I have worked in construction, but I still enjoy it. Even if it's just watching it. Keep up the good work. Great job.
Good morning, Ken. Thank you yet again for another great video. You all make it look so effortless and always a job well done. I'd like to wish you, your family, your crew and their families, as well as your subscribers, a Blessed Christmas and a very Happy, Healthy, Prosperous New Year!
Absolutely LOVE your videos. I built a lot of houses over the years and I can honestly say that it is WAY more fun to watch someone else. You run a very good crew. I look forward to your next build. Well done. 👍👍
NICE to know the prices thank you. gives me a good idea on todays market. also seeing you do this type of work at your age motivates me more as I'm getting older as well.
Minus -4 degrees here last night. Another fantastic BUILD love the color and the roof as well. GREAT JOB you two. Now it's time to get warm and enjoya Christmas. God's blessings to you ALL.
Hi Ken from Mr. KW Wiese: I am71! & and have seen 3 brothers build a small 2 story house and a double car garage in 2 weeks! So I wish to tell you and all, Most of how they did it- you are doing a really good job! Cement flat work with re-bar You might consider zip strips to tie the rebar together, I spent a summer a long time ago helping a fellow do cement work.
I hope to build exact same size with doors on the long end. Fits the space available. Thanks for making it look easier than what it is for a non-builder. 👍🏻
I wish I had the opportunity to take lessons from a master and professional person like you and learn the job. Your works are works of art. Expert. 💪😎👍
Ken, you and Chad are warriors. I worked in the snow for years, in the North East as a carpenter until moving to the south. Folks down here have no clue how much work you have to do before actually working...lol. everything is shut down here in Raleigh when we have a half inch accumulation...still makes me laugh, but I definitely don't miss the snow!
Beautiful color. Cordovan takes its name from the city of Córdoba, Spain, where the production of cordovan leather was first practiced by the Visigoths in the seventh century. That stain has character.
Ken I enjoy these time lapse builds, I know they keep you busy editing when you're unable to build. One suggestion that I would like to propose, in the description or in a graphic at the beginning state when the original build was. Thanks Always Dave
Nice garage and I love the color of the stained finish. A thought for side of the garage with the window is to rip 16" off the 1st sheet of T1-11 so that a vertical seam falls within the window opening (19:30 in the video).
Здравствуйте. Кен давно вас не видел, спасибо что выкладывайте ролики, для нас. Вы конечно по каркасникам для вас равных нет ,с наступающим вас новым годом,!!! И рождеством христовым, gut gut,
To give a different slant, I just had a 24x24 ten foot high ceilings with one 9x9 door and a 3ft personal door , 2 windows in the gables built on a concrete pad here in Nova Scotia, $48,000 cad.
I have a preference for white tarps, makes it much lighter to work under and cooler for summertime. Once again I am impressed by tour teemwork and efficiency--Mikey, Belfair, Wa(formerly Sequim and West Seattle)
I think a steel building is the way to go. 4 years ago I had a 24 x 30 building put up. Concrete slab was poured. Crew came out put up the building in less than 5 hours. Done deal cost me 15 grand.😎
Looks great 👍.. You & your son make an awesome team .. I can work great withy older son but my youngest son thinks he has forgotten more than I know 🤣😂.. Stay safe & God bless
I have a garage that is 24x26 and the cement floor needs to be removed. Garage in great condition. Cracked and heaved floor needs to be removed and repoured. Talked to a couple of contractors they say too much work. I disagree. Garage needs to be lifted tear out concrete. Plus I need a 13' ceiling. Nice job on garage 👍
Great job. Love your vids.Cant believe you have that many calls for detached garages , you must have the market connored up there good luck and keep the videos cummin.
8 inch grooved, tongue and grooved exterior paneling, just make sure you run your tongue and groove in the right direction on opposite side so your of fall can be used from the previous side, FYI
I’ve watched every minute of all of your recent videos and I’m waiting to see how you finish the roof peak where the metal panels meet. Assume it’s a vent of some sort….but would love to see how you finish that gap to be watertight. 😊
It is Christmas Eve here in Australia as I watch this episode so I would like to take the opportunity to wish you and your family and all the crew the very best for the season.
