I stumbled into this submission yesterday in class in almost the same way. I started with a more normal Kimora from closed guard, then ended up with a one-armed Kimora from the top, it felt surprisingly secure on my end. Tbf, we are both white belts so maybe a higher belt could get out.
Its really good, from trapped arm side control, then go north south with the single arm kimura, you can tap almost anyone, also, you get to take the back right after or during if the guy lifts his torso off the ground/
