Would love to see an mpg comparison. I have a 5.7 ls1 in a 68 firebird, all stock with 4l60e and 2:89 gears in the rear. Get fantastic mpg on the highway, never going to 373 low gears. I think i can achieve 25-27mpg. Some c5 vette guys can tune the computer to lean burn and achieve 41mpg in a 2002 vette going 57mph
@@Mrelectric423 I think I'm going to put a 1904 on my tbi 454 suburban and see what happens. Tired of 10mpg, and I dont need all the power. Would love to see 15mpg. Plus experimenting is fun. Did you have issues dialing in air fuel ratio for idle, main jet, and transition? Just curious what I might be up against to get it dialed in
@@michaelscafe2818 The carb worked great out of the box. I also experimented with a motorcycle carb a lawnmower card and a restrictor plate under the 1904. All said the 1904 unrestricted seems to be the best all around solution. I had to bend the throttle linkage that comes off the carb butterfly because it sits too low. I used small pop rivets to attach a slightly longer arm to the linkage on the carb. Stock jets that came in the car yielded good a/f ratio. I also set up the same thing (a 1904) on my 76' vette and it works good!
