Gotta throw it out when ur close tho, cause if it misses the first hit, the DI will get you on the recovery. But I'm bad at reacting to DI with my own DI so there's probably time to do it lol
@@King-yj2jx Yeah that sucks when it happens. Of course I can't always rely on that. But that + his target combo, that also breaks DI, I feel Jamie is good playing against people that throw DI a lot
Also cool to point out that if the opponent decides to block after the 3 jabs, your HP will only hit on the third hit, so you can buffer it into bakkai or dp and get that sweet safe jump on hit and it won't come out on block, another reason it's better than st. Lk. However, with the Luke example, that Luke wasn't jabbing twice. Pretty sure Luke and Deejay (Maybe Guile?) Also have really long jabs that will interrupt if you try to mash HP after blocking 2 of them.
One thing that’s super important to note about jamie’s 5hp and any character with a mashable move is that you shouldn’t base your gameplan (or lack thereof) around it. This is a very common, very harmful trap that newer players will fall for. As well-put as Bo’s videos are, there is most likely going to be a gold who starts implementing this without thinking, starts ranking up, then hits an impassable wall. When i was stuck in 1450-1550 MR i would constantly run in to jamies that have only gotten to master by abusing 5hp, so i would just perfect parry it and then they fall apart. This happened at least 15 times, and I’m sure it happens in lower ranks much more. DO NOT get stuck relying on one move or gimmick, with any character. If you feel like you’re only winning because your opponents don’t know what to do, then you need to reassess your gameplay immediately and do some replay reviewing to spot the problem. There’s a difference between “this guy doesn’t know how to deal with this so i’ll just keep doing it” and “most people don’t know how to deal with this so i won’t bother learning how to play.” Great video as always, Bo. I fw the music too
Well said! Thanks for the is caveat. I started out SF as a Guile main and basically never learned neutral until way late into the series and had already formed bad habits - this is great advice.
I shit you not, I've been struggling to figure out a way to improve my gameplay lately, and this advice just helped me win some matches I would have lost otherwise lol
Hey man, have you ever thought about muting the SF6 Music and instead use your own music as background? That way, you'd get your music out and if it's really good, they will automatically want more! Thanks for the Jamie Tutorials! 🙏
Yes! Regarding using my music - I did that for my first video. For some reason iMovies won’t let me do it anymore. I need to figure out how to do it again. Thank you!
You really need to stop posting those videos because each time it makes me want to play Jamie again, so I play him for a bit, then I remember I have to work 10x more than other bs characters and it gets frustrating :/
Thank you so much for your videos! I absolutely love the way you break down complex combo strings into much simpler concepts. And I didn't know you were making music. It's totally my jam now 💖
If the hermits elbow still has a chance of not working, why would I consider using it instead of always following up with st HP? Just another jamie trying to put the pieces together haha 😅
all of your videos have been so helpful since i started sf6 and i always like doing good with a " low tier" character and i genuinely love Jamie and enjoy him so thanks for all the advice and tips
This explains so much. I had a diamond 4 jamie spamming this shit 24/7 like three days ago. It waa literally almost the only move they used. I was so confused
It's insane that people say Jamie has bad normals, like complaining about drinks I get, but he has some terrific normals other characters (even the top tiers) would kill for.
I'm much more of a 90s hip-hop guy, but my g your music is fantastic. Gave your songs a listen just to support you, but ended up staying and listening through, saving songs along the way. Any other ways we can support you boss?
Omg thank you! That means a lot to me AND actually helps me out a ton - thank you! Any other way? Hmmm come out to my show whenever I’m on tour please!
Excellent tips! Makes me wanna play more Jamie! (just finished the combo trials). Also, checked out your music. Many dope tracks! Super professional productions.
Ranked was getting me so pissed off, but all this tech you're showing off really makes me want to try and hop back into it (though maybe a few more matches in casual lol)
Best Jamie tips I've seen from anybody on youtube. I'm curious if you know anything special about how to use Jamie's command grab too, cuz I can't ever find a practical use for it. Keep up the good work!
Generally you can command grab safely if you are at +4 or better. But I do have some “poor man’s dumb setups” for it that seems to catch people by surprise precisely because it’s … so dumb and completely not safe lol. Maybe I’ll share the suboptimal tech too lol!
Thank you for all your amazing content. I really want to be a Jamie main, the way you teach makes me see how I can easily get better as him. May I ask which controls you use?
Hi, thank you, and glad this helps! Im using Classic controls. Used to be on pad, but due to my age and lifelong gaming my hand began having issues and I switched to stick just a few weeks ago. About to switch to leverless in a few days!
1:22 doesn’t leave you as close 2:17 i see 2:35 jeez. Ahem 3:20 that’s the exceptions ok 3:48 ah yeah lily’s tough 4:06 mkay 4:38 hm. Pretty good Incredible I’ll see later
