Part 1 ------ Oil 1/2 Cup Cinnamon 2 Pcs Cardamom 1 TSP Clove 1 TSP Bay Leaf 2 Pcs Cumin 1 TSP Sauté All of above on Low Flame Onion 500 Grams sliced add in Pan Sauté Well Garlic 30 Grams Ginger 30 Grams Salt 1 TSP Sauté Well Tomato 1Kg Pealed & Sliced - Add in the Pan Mix Well Boil for 15 mins Bring Mixture to a complete cool and then grind it in chopper or food processor. Part 2 ------ Cashew 1/4th Cup Melon Seeds 1/4th Cup Hot Water 1/2 Cup Soak 15 Min Blend Smooth Paste Part 3 ------ Oil 1/4th Cup in a Pan Turmeric 1 TSP Chili Powder 3 TBSP Coriander Powder 3 TBSP Cumin Powder 1 TSP Garam Masala 1 TSP Sauté On Low Flame Add Tomato Onion Paste Sauté Well Boil 20 mins till Oil Separates Add Cashew Melon Paste Mix Well Cook on Medium Flame and keep stirring Curry Base Ready.

You can make two more gravies by adding a tablespoon or two of fresh cream and coriander leaves or coconut milk and curry leaves to the base gravy...so five gravies from one base gravy...not adding tomatoes to the onions makes for a sixth - onion gravy!

My wife and I love Indian food. Many years ago, we were in an Indian restaurant and talking with the owner. He said to us that most of their curries started with the same basic brown sauce. Add vinegar and hot chilies for Vindaloo. Add cream for Korma, and so on.

@@radha-22 mam we can store for one week, but it should be heated very well say if the preparation time is twenty minutes then, you should cook on low heat until it becomes thick paste, I do like this on Sunday, and the whole week tension free. Store in steel containers medium size four, use dry spoon,do not keep in freazer

i guess most Indian restaurants especially in places with no Indians wont waste money on very rare spices. I just dont think i want to cook using a blender.

Mr.Mesmerizer its amazing too many ingredients... in some places in Asia there are very few Indians. So i think their restaurant dont use this ingridients. this is is amazing. Even if I have money. some of those spices are not available. But I have 1 kilo of Basmati rice. Its very very expensive rice. I think I will cook it this week.

Awesome ... 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 looks very delicious n super time saver ... here in brooklyn newyork in many indian n pakistsni grocery stores you can buy almost look alike sauce called "curry sauce" ... You can save it for months in refridgerator ... Real quick so many dishes now u can make in a few minutes ... because cooking base-sauce n choosing spices is a serious hassle ... Thank you for sharing such as nice idea ...

Its a good idea to make a base and refrigerate it. Couple of thoughts... the bay leaves are also ground to a paste 🤔? And can we have an alternative version too... khus khus and tamarind instead of cashew, melon seeds and tomatoes? Thanku

@@gh0sT2018 least harm to animals, on a consciousness base or bias, like we avoid milk cause cows are tortured, we avoid eggs cause hens are tortured, then it goes on and on like, ya but I kill mosquitoes, basically satisfaction on our conscience working well

@@quarksunited ye but ull still eat an avacoado and almonds flow in from california tho, and cows arent typically tortured for milk, any that are, are subject to malpractise which isnt the standard

I made this today and the base itself tastes great as a creamy side dish for idli/dosa! (I garnished it with coriander and freshly sauteed curry leaves for anyone who's wondering). P.S: How long would you say this is safe to keep in the fridge for later use? A week?

She hails from udipi region of karnataka,and they are master of culinary...most of the south indian breakfast dishes were introduced by them Dosa is india's no.1 favourite breakfast irrespective regions....My advice is to you If you can't Encourage someone,don't Discourage them,i have learnt many dishes Watching Hebbar's kitchen...Thanks to the Lady.....

This is how all restaurants cook. But in my suggestion you should do 2 types base curries. 1 heavy on tomato and 1 heavy on onion. This allow you to make dishes such as Chilli chicken/mushroom or karahi dishis more easily. Also if you want i use this for over a month for 2 people i would say make double portion and freeze in smaller portions in zip bags.

This is great recipe esp for party cooking or for guests, assuming u can prep gravy in advance of 1-2 days and manage work better.

@@apaapa1954 when u have to cook for 10 people ...m u cnt make the gravy base in the evening...when the gravy is hot...u cnt grind it.... When added to the mixer jar hot it just splutters....

After cooling down, we can keep it in airtight container in fridge for a week or can store in freezer for a month....whenever we want to make the dish, take out and rest it for half an hour and can use it....try it out guys...🤩😍🥰😊💖💛🧡❤💞

any item we using onion, then shelf life getting 2 days, otherwise frozen will give 5 days.but more then 5 days in frozen day by bay test will change and can keep frozen to 20 days but test will not same as before fresh
