@@Me-sf2bn I grew up watching reruns of the original when I was a kid. It aired when my mom was a kid lol. we had this channel that aired reruns of a bunch of 70s/80s sitcom, with some early 90's shows (early 90's being when I was born) I haven't checked out the netflix version yet.
I'm a child of the seventies, I watched all these shows. Alice, Sanford and Son, the Jeffersons, Laverne and Shirley, Welcome Back Kotter etc. lol But looking back it was pretty good tv
Takes me back to the 70's. The best theme song of all time for a ground breaking sitcom. Every episode tackled deep issues that faced society at the time. Oh and Valleri Bertinelli was my first crush. Loved her at 8 years old! One of the greatest sitcoms of all time!
i didn't think of her that way at the time, but bonnie franklin was pretty milf-like herself, and just in her very early 30's when the show first aired.
Wow I instantly got happy hearing this relic.. surprised I still knew the words. And I was one yr old in 75.. parents must of watched a lot of reruns. Valerie was my favorite.
I love One Day At A Time it was the best show ever when I was growing up!!!!! There was no foul language and none of that stuff it was pure clean comedy Mackenzie Phillips and Valerie Bertinelli were the most respected actresses on the planet!!!! I love One Day At A Time, Little House on the Prairie, Schoolhouse Rock, Family and many others too!!!!! Thanks so much for posting this video!!!! I love it!!!! I love the 70s can you dig it!!!!!
I love the beginning credits showing Valerie Bertinelli baking. To think she's not only still acting but is a chef too. Funny thing about her is my dad's friend since high school is a former CHP officer turned Captain but retired in 2007 due to health issues pulled her over but I don't know if he ticketed her or let her off with a warning. Valerie is still cute today
One of the best theme songs ever of the 70's and my childhood. Written by Jeff Barry. Also Polly Cutter who is singing this awesome theme song was a up and coming Pop Star who sung backup vocals in 1976 and had only one song called" Ooh, Im satisfied" which didnt do so great. She then retired from the business in 1979. But she left us with a memorable theme song.
I think he was trying to camouflage that he was nosed as to wanting to know all. The time what was going on.he also I think would look at the mirror a lot to make sure he looked good so I think that’s why he grabbed blow dryer quick to hide the face of him wanting to know all the details going on with the Coopers.
I’ve only seen opening credits and few clips of the reboot and it looks very good but the original is really really good! I’m 3 years younger than Valerie Bertinelli and I think she was about 14 -15 when the show first started and I know she was playing the part of a 14 almost 15 yr. old when the show first started which would’ve made me 11-12. At first I had to sneak watch it (ha ha lol) my mom thought i was too young and the show was ahead of its time and Julie was a negative influence. She thought the mother was too permissive. But eventually I didn’t have to hide watching it and it was extremely popular and I really loved it. The hair, the clothes, the teenage issues were so 1970’s. I was always a fan of Valerie Bertinelli and still am. She’s so talented. Loved her in “ A child’s name “. She was so cute and I believe down to earth. I thought she didn’t match Eddie. An Haley at all. But if you get the chance do watch some of the original. There’s a few episodes on RU-vid. I just bought the series in Walmart very reasonable - I just came upon it accidentally when Christmas shopping; and always wanted it but saw it was way too much money but couldn’t pass it up at the fantastic price. I ad earned a little extra money before Christmas so for the first time I bought myself a really great present and something I really wanted. I loved Barnaby Jones, Medical Center, St. Elsewhere, ER, Rookies and Streets of San Francisco but don’t have any of those since they’re so expensive. I have found some seasons of most of them on RU-vid or internet archive. In 7th season of Medical Center now. The first 2 episodes were about Robert Reeds character going through a sex change operation. It was funny watching this topic now since it’s not out of the ordinary as much today. Back when it was first on I remember the story was controversial. But also funny some of these shows as “normal” as the story lines could be they each had a far out story line too.
Dees anyone remember what was the name of that Lazy Susan exercise thing Schneider was using at 0:27? I used to see them, and the Bullworker, all the time back then.
Lol.... It was called a twist board my mom had one of those. I use to play on it when I was a kid. Lol.... too funny. Now they call them vintage twist boards.
Yes. She was. Suppose to have been very young - a child bride out of high school. And they also had her in dumpy clothes. And I’ve heard so many people comment on that she clearly didn’t wear. A bra and should have. I have. To say if I was Julies mother I’d be in a crappy mood all the time too. It had to be difficult dealing with what happened off screen with MacKenzie too.
Norman Lear.. love him or hate him he made some good stuff. Now I didn't care much for Bonnie Franklin, but Snyder made the show. Later on as Bertinelli got older she was the attraction for young men to watch the show. These old shows are great, things were real back then. Now we have a load of crap on TV that nobody wants to watch.
Celtic Warrior Because a lot of people loved it. Just because you didn't like it doesn't mean your opinion is the end all be all. And if you hated it why are you even watching this? Maybe you need to get a hobby,
