This came at the PERFECT time! We are going next Saturday! We used points to book a Southwest flight to get a companion pass for the first part of next year. Salem has been on my bucket list for years. We leave Saturday morning and head home Sunday morning. Quick trip but SO excited!!!

That's hilarious that you all didn't go far enough to Allison's house because we did the same and then had to drive back. I did not however know the garden was in the back so that upsets me. Another thing to add to the list when we go back.

It's pretty affordable if you travel to Salem earlier on in the year. Plus it gets even cheaper if you schedule a year in advance, get a flight hotel combo or ,and know what you want to do on your trip.

Summer time is awesome too. Its overlooked and underrated. It feels more laid back with virtually no lines. plus the vibe is more spooky/seaside I love it. Between the ships,icecream,drinks,ferry and parade during july 4th with fireworks and live music it's really a lot of fun and I'm not sure if fall or summer is better.

We went to Lenox, MA (Yankee Candle Village IS A MUST), Boston Ma, Hampton Beach, and Portsmouth NH(Portsmouth is also A MUST SEE), Boston MA, and Salem MA. All in he week of Sept 8. Oh and we also got to meet Jason Momoa😁. So for the 1st time ever visiting Massachusetts and New Hampshire, we loved it and are already planning to go back. Oh another msut see is Edith Wharton House in Lenox is a must. We did the free walk of the grounds and gardens, and it was BEAUTIFUL!!

We did watch your video with Portsmouth as well before going. I promised my husband lobster, the price😳, and we ended up going to The River House. We would definitely go back there to eat and visit Portsmouth. I got a pasta meal, can't remember name, for a lot less, with mussels, scallops and shrimp, and I've been craving it since😄 We ended up getting to Portsmouth later than we wanted and didn't get to see half of what we wanted to. So yes I highly recommend all these destinations. 😊

Hammond castle in Gloucester MA is also worth the trip. Gloucester is coincidently a fishing village and Gorton's is located there too. There are some good seafood restaurants and the castle has awesome gardens right by the seaside. It's a nice little getaway from the busy city; very laid back feel

Oh my gosh when did you go? We went for the 1st time Sept 11 and LOVED IT!! We still missed many things and believe you need more than 1 day to appreciate EVERYTHING including the location in Danvers. That's fricken hilarious with the skeleton and dog because I took a pic of it to share😆. I honestly think going the week after Labor Day was the best for crowds. That's from everything I've seen on RU-vid.
