One Dead, Two Others Injured As Portion Of Nine Storey Building Collapses In Asaba

One person lost his life and two others sustained various level of injuries in Asaba when a portion of a nine storey building under construction collapsed on Friday afternoon.
The building located on the Macdonald road near Marian Babangida road in Asaba, the Delta State Capital appears to be a hotel under construction and sharing fence with residential buildings.
The Delta State Commissioner for Urban Renewal Michael Anoka and the State Emergency Management Agency were quick to visit the site of the incident.
Mr Michael Anoka in an interview with journalists immediately after inspecting the site of the accident said that the Delta State Government would carry out an integrity test on the collapsed building.
A brother to the dead victim of the building collapsed, Mohammed Abdulraman described how his brother die while mixing mortar on the ground floor besides the building that collapsed on him.
The State Director Of SEMA, Ovemoso Karo and Nwabueze Kelvin, a councilor in Oshimili South Local Government Area expressed their fears about the structure and the danger it poses to people living in the area.
