Old Jyd I like to watch the videos that you do at that shop and I can tell that they are good people if I ever get to come up that way I got to stop by thainks you all ps I like thes old saws
XL12 were orginally Blue then later they started painting them Red until the end of their product. The blue handle and mount must of came from an early saw as a replace that metal mount would commonly break. Shoe in SW Oregon.
@@ButlerOutdoorsCanada Hear that...well parts are parts...fire crew I worked on in the 80s still running XL12 and super XLs alway swapping parts we had quite a few multi color blue and red saws.. Take care.. Shoe
That's a true statement!! They bothe are under tge Electrolux brand and definitely share designs it's amazing how they had only subtle difference !kinda reminds me of what they do with gmc and Chevy trucks ya know? Thanks for dropping in man!!
@@ButlerOutdoorsCanada is that you playin the guitar ? The Tone reminds me of a 50watt Ampeg reverborocket 1/2 stack i had in late 90s w a Mesa v twin pedal between guitar an amp . Love the raunchy intro tone
@@ButlerOutdoorsCanada great sounding rig man ! I have a blood red american std strat i bought new in 96 when i 1st started playin an played it 3 yrs but found the real me on a '99 LP std and a '98 Guild S100 , sg style i bought new in 99 for pretty good deal cause it set in store a while i had my eye on it the whole time , dont have the LP anymore but could never let go of the Guild it just comes alive in my hands the set neck moves around tricky to tune if you dont know the guitar but once you find the way it responds it justs melds an enhances what is being expressed . Ive learned to exploit moving the neck as im playing to a very musical convincing effect . Guitars w stiff unyeilding necks arent near as musical to me . Love yur playin an style . Is the melody your composition ?
@@ButlerOutdoorsCanada didnt mean to get off topic . I like what your doin enjoyed seeing an hearing about this amazing collection of awesome vintage saws
Jeff would likely know and possibly have a 1-71 all I can tell you is they're a solid saw, made from 60-61, 87cc , direct drive, a real firewood destroyer! It's a keeper!
@@russellnorton9940 direct drive just refers to the clutch placement, you get more rpm with a direct vs gear reduction saws. I have a video up of my mcculloch super 44 that'll be a very similar saw
@@russellnorton9940 also if the chain is moving when you yank it over there's a good possibility your clutch is stuck, mey break free with some WD-40 and a hammer lol
@@ButlerOutdoorsCanada I sent Jeff dad’s old pioneer chainsaw for Jeff to get running again. I happened to find it in my shop but I love my 620 Echo chainsaw and slowly learning to take good care of it.
