I like how people say Victor is the grumpiest man in Britain but when you actually watch the show you realize he has legit reason to be so angry and grumpy.
Yes. And also Margaret is deemed the long suffering wife but Victor never intentionally upsets her whereas Margaret, at times, thoughtlessly hurts Victor.
That’s the point of the show. In most comedies the main character is the dumb one or crazy one. Victor meldrew is described by the writers as the only sane one in an insane world which is what makes it such a good show. Victor speaks for all of us

I used to work in a Ford Dealership in London in the 80s and our Victor Meldrew s were the contents of the House of Lords with their empty tattered expensive leather brief cases , screaming blue murder at us about their Wireless not working or their exhaust Pipes being too loud and our Workshop Manager was nick named Basil Faulty , it was a carry on film every day , where has all the fun gone ???

Loved watching Victor Meldrew on utube it ended up being poor quality I hope someone will restore it and keeping up appearances like they restored steptoe and son xx
Probably not helping that judging from the pictures on the desk he’s taken his Avenger to an American car specialist. Maybe if Victor called it a Plymouth Cricket they’d have more luck sourcing bits for it.
