I do like this headset but man, it really does suck that you can't EQ these for my PS5. It really does hold it back, and feels flat and almost quiet. I'm hearing the new PS5 firmware will have a system EQ setting, so hopefully it's universal so I can give these a little oomph. But, yeah it's hard to recommend these for consoles since it needs it's software to really make it shine
It's basically the same. Most people can't even tell a difference from my experience definitely not once it has been compressed for recording or transmission via discord.
Really like the video, but you should do the mic test with it wirelessly as well and not just using the USB cable as that will make a difference in the mic quality.
I'm using at wireless mode always. Honestly my voice is average but after bought these, at valorant and cod, people start to ask me: "how your voice is so nice, what program or headset is that.." bla bla, felt weird and then i recorded my own voice and listened, dude it's top quality. I used logitech g430 like 5 years, this was nice upgrade :D

I think testing the mic wirelessly would have been better (both in 2.4 and bluetooth). I also want to mention that holding the mute button on the mic unable or disable your own voice playback in the headset... And I feel like nobody would ever use equalizer profile buttons on the device itself like you suggested
Well the mic and the alu cans of the SE contribute as well, so its more like a $50-70 Premium. But it also has Atmos which the original didn't. I'll pass as well, but if this version was out when I made that purchase last year. I'd have got this one. I ended up getting a bunch of headsets for different jobs after I made a purchase or two to accomplish what this one could have with its dedicated adapter and BT support.
Sooo I'd like to hear a real mic test from Discord or Teamspeak as both of those are using different audio codecs than just recording samples into recording and editing software.. Every video makes the mic sound amazing and I've heard friends with the headset in discord and ts and they sound like dirt
i bought these but i couldnt pin point shit on apex legends like i could hear footsteps but like all over the place....before these i had the lower end wireless corsair headset and they were amazing and i could hear and pin point certain souds i guess i have to go in and mess with the settings seeing as they dont sound good right out the box so ill try that out.....what are your settings?
I bought them yesterday and they're going back today. They sound like dixie cups to me even with the bass end of the EQ maxed out. I tried watching a baseball game and I could barely hear the bat hit the ball with them. Watching the same segment with my wired Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro's I could clearly hear the contact between the bat and the ball. Gaming was pitiful with battles sounding hollow and lifeless. If you care about sound quality look elsewhere.
@Frank Rizzo I ended up ordering a pair of Razer Kraken V3 Pro's and they are the shiznit and I love them to death. The battery life is on the weak side but the sound quality is great for gaming and music.
Can you help me with some info ? I just bought these headphones for my next gen xbox. I was wondering if without a computer will I be able to turn off the sidetone so I can’t hear myself talking in the headset ? Also does the Dolby Atmos work with my xbox Dolby Atmos ? Thanks for the good review
Hey so I’ve been gaming for awhile now and have went through some of the best headsets like the Astros A50 and the Artic Wireless Pros but I feel like none of them are giving me the rumble experience like the Sony Pulse Elite. Also you said these Virtuosos don’t have the rumble so what headset would you recommend? Of course I want good quality but I feel like I need that bass rumble when shooting or when things are exploding.

@@kingclassified8503 well im no audiophile but ive got a totally different opinion so that this was not worth to upgrade from a used hyperX cloud flight. not worth the money at all. wired mic is nice but wireless mic is actually embarassingly bad
thx for review. wasnt worth the money imo, for whatever reason the earcubs are too small (and im absolutely average in size). ears hurt after less then an hour and its just always uncomfortable to wear them even before that. also theyre too heavy and the mic is above average but not worth the price... in wireless mode, the mic is very bad actually and i dont buy an expensive wireless headset to have it plugged in for good mic quality. getting the ATH-G1WL tomorrow thanks to you other review and im excited they do it better
Thanks for this comment. What a bizarre choice that doesn't represent anyone's real use. I guess it's a nice option, but no one wants to buy these for wired use.
I'm on the fence between DAC set ups like Sennheiser GSX 1000 and Steeleseries Pro +DAC. Can the Virtuoso XT compete with DAC'd setups? Wireless has never provided me enough volume power for my liking.
Just bought these and love them. Really comfortable and they replaced my in ears for my phone, ATH-M50s for my pc/laptop, and both headsets for xbox/ps5.
Bought a pair cos I love Corsair (have their CPU cooler, case and Dominator DDR5 RAM), but I was soooo disappointed with these. The sound quality is horrible via bluetooth (connecting to my iPhone - the AirPods are louder and clearer), and even wired via the USB charging cable on my PC - the audio is way too quiet, flat, lacks the punchy bass, those crystal clear treble highs and even the mids are murky and sound tinny. Connecting to my 3 month old (pretty high spec'd machine) via 3.5mm, bluetooth and the slipstream dongle still resulted in poor quality, quiet audio. Not worth the price tag at all. Believe it or not, an older, much cheaper pair of Sony MDR-V55's and PlayStation Pulse headsets both killed it in terms of loudness and clarity. No amount of tweaking via Windows Settings, the Dolby Access/Atoms application or any other audio application could get the volume up close to those much, much cheaper headphones without distorting the hell out of the audio. Such a shame because these are really good looking headphones. My other issue was (and I have an average size head - normal size glasses and frames fit just fine), I move my head up or down and the headset would slip. No matter how I attempted to adjust the fit, it wouldn't form a proper seal around my ears and would just slip with any head movement. So, whoopee, they can connect so many ways. Jack of all trades, master of none. That sums it up. Worst pair of headphones i've ever tried and will be returned tomorrow!
@@DylanBradyWilson don't buy the virtuoso XT, the audio is terrible compared to SE, I bought and I had to refund, the Dolby Atmos just turn off corsair ICUE to work properly, so not worth it.

@@AZjesse1 if you like surround in games, don't buy virtuoso XT, the only good thing on it is the Bluetooth, but there is a problem with this headset, when you connect it to Pc , you have to download Dolby Atmos to have "surround" but when you turn on surround on ICUE or Dolby Atmos ,windows just recognize 2 audio exits, so the audio just got messed up, otherwise, if you turn off surround 7.1 windows start to recognize 8 channels, so the audio get messed up again. There is something wrong with this headset, I've tried 2 of those and I just refound it and got Virtuoso SE Express now . Works fine. No Dolby Atmos which is a garbage in this headset, Corsair ICUE is much much better. And I'm playing just fine.

Okay so just to be 100% sure cause my English isn’t super good. I can plug the hub into my PS5 and at the same time connect it to Bluetooth on my phone so i can listen music on RU-vid for example? I really really hope so cause i’m looking for one that can do that but not the Steelserie one cause in 4 days i had to send 2 Arctic Nova Pro’s back bc of bad sound quality.
Given how many connection options there are, is it possible to connect to multiple devices at at a time? You mentioned the Switch, and since there's no game chat on the Switch, a headset that I can hook up to my Switch and then connect to my phone or PC with one of the other methods and get sound from both device simultaneously would be nice. Can the XT do that?
Do these sound better when plugged in via USB like the SE? The SE mic and headphones both got even better when plugged in, but it doesn't look like they list that on the spec sheet for the XT's.
For anyone who finds this comment later - the answer is yes they do. (I traded my recently purchased SE's in for the XT's and they do go up to 24bit/96Khz when plugged in even though it's not stated anywhere.
@@ramiebrahim4711 with the free Dolby Atmos they def. Sound better, I used the same custom tuning that I liked in the Atmos software and it's better. They are about 25% more comfortable, the headphones are a little further apart so less head clamp, and they have a little more padding so my ears don't touch the driver. The mic sounds just as good. If the headset hurts your head, or you really want Bluetooth I'd say it's worth the upgrade. If you only care about audio quality, I'd say dont bother unless you can return the SEs like I did.
@@garrettbrown3126 Awesome! Appreciate the input, my only gripe with the SE's is that the headphone cushions aren't thick enough so my ears kind of brush up against the driver mesh. Don't know if they changed that on the new one, I know they added padding up top but I'm not sure if the cushions are changed. Do you notice any difference in sound quality between the SE's and the XT when dolby is off? I'm wondering if they changed anything at all in the hardware because you can use dolby on the SE's if you buy it through the windows store.
@@ramiebrahim4711 I just used the icue software with the SEs, if I'm only using icue, they sound exactly the same. But since they came with Atmos i use that and it sounds better vs icue.
Would it have more battery if they used Bluetooth 5.2? It is also interesting that there is a sacrifice of sound for functionality and specs for some headphones and vice versa.

Wait. So u can't be connected to your phone via bluetooth and also your PC via RF dongle like Steelseries Arctis 9? Also ur mic test was corded only. What about wireless mic quality which is usually lower quality? You also didn't mention the driver and mic frequency response specs.
How good is the mic compared to the original Virtuoso? Because, imo, the og had a superior mic comapred to the SE, so now, I guess it's a matter of the og v the XTs.
almost $300? You lost me instantly at 15 hour charge time... The $130 Razer Hyperspeed with the wideband mic blows this headset out of the water lol... and its got a 70 hour battery life. If anything this one MIGHt have a very slightly better mic but thats it. So not worth more than $150

tryint to compare to steelseries my steelseries can connect to my pc and xbox at same time or even xbox then pc to hear it and my phone all at once then comes with 2 batteries
XT is only better if aptX HD for BT connection is important aswell as higher frequency ranges. Maybe their frame (metal headband etc. feels and look better than the Steelseries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless). But for comfort, and sound even with SBC the Arctis Nova Pro Wireless they were far more superior.
except that it still has the worse mic of the two Virtuoso series (the original was better) and the earcups are not dramatically improved. I got spoiled with my old Sennheiser PC series headsets.

haha bluetooth is the only reason I didn't get the Virtuoso SE. I thought everything else about it was terrific, but I really want my new headset to be my everything headset (including being out and about, listening to music with bluetooth)
@@perezdoitbest7540 I don't but ither the SE and the XL work. Make it more usable connecting the USB adaptor on your PS5. I love the 2 feature on my XL in this case to listen the game (USB) and chatting with my friends thru the PS app (Bluetooth headphone to phone)

You cannot use this headset on Xbox without seriously bad Microphone Echo. Ive reached out to Corsair many times in regards to a firmware update for use with xbox via USB audio and have heard nothing back from them.
