One Hour. One Book. is a segment of GCBI- a one-year Bible program designed to give students the tools and knowledge required to understand the Bible and form a Biblical worldview. GCBI's goal is to follow Jesus' last command to make disciples of all nations. I really wish there were longer versions of these lessons. The one on genesis would have been cool if it was at least two hours :)

If you search the following on RU-vid, you will find all the teaching videos in chronological order. Look for GCBI chronological bible study. Thomas Mcbee is the owner of the RU-vid site. There are over 300 videos in order with in-depth teaching. I just started with Genesis and there are so many videos. These teachings have changed my life. Good luck.

The book of numbers came across differently to me. It sounded like they where taking a census to find out how many fighting age, able bodied men could fight in a war. It really confused me.. 10's of thousands of men were slain in these wars. How does God ordained war NOT conflict with the Commandment, "Thou shall not kill"..? Aren't we also commanded to Love they neighbor..? War is so immoral..!

You misunderstand The Most High from the get go,and now you are struggling to understand, lacking faith. The Father loves Israel and hates pagans who have defiled the good land with several sins... God doesn't love everyone... He really doesn't. He tolerates the good and the bad for the most part, but he doesn't love us all. Continue to read and you will realize that in the grand scheme of things, pagans don't hold much value... (Then and now, sorry). The priority is the purity and Holiness of Israel. That's actually why the Son came on the scene... Why the scripture is maintained. The whole thing revolves on the maintenance of the Purity of Israel. Second... You are trying to interpret without good background. This land was promised to their forefather Abraham when it was almost a wilderness itself, but even before that Shem (Abraham's forefather) won the lot of this region after the flood. Son's on Ham broke that covenant by settling in the their father's brothers territory and the breaking of this covenant with Noah comes with a curse. You will have to read and the apocrypha to understand the entire Bible, it was meant to be one book (you will essentially have to decide if you believe in the God of Israel or the God of the Papacy - the pagan knock off which most of you got indoctrinated with). Thou shalt not kill (murder) is a day to day rule for living together, among other Hebrews and the occasional stranger. However if He says go to war, strip and purge the land of an abominable people, defilement and pollution and possess it, You should do so... Down to the last life. Continue to read the word of God through the Prophets. Also See the parable of the Good Olive (Israel) and the grafted in Wild Olive (Repented Pagans).

The hebrew word used in the ten commandments for kill, means murder..... In other verses, when God says he kills, the hebrew word means , to destroy...... War and murder are two different things..

Good on you Rob for being honest! The same thing happened with me and I shut the book and went me own way. Years later, alone in a cell, I met Jesus. Don't know how, or why, and I was not looking. A few years after I got baptised at a stupid NAR church that God used at the time. Then it was another few years before I got to a point where I said to the Lord - if this book is full of errors and contradictions, I am out - despite many miracles and deep spiritual experiences that no science can explain. Thought it would take about half an hour....and here I am, what, half a decade later, learning the original languages, loving the God who gave us His Word - and when I do find things that are tough, I drill down. Always = Always there is something I missed, or presumed, or judged wrongly = He is all Good. Jesus is the real deal, the Bible is fairly accurate in English (but its like looking through a smudgy mirror - I thought I didn't have time to learn Hebrew or Greek now I realise it has given me a far better grasp of English and so much more) - don't take "potted answers", find out what the divides are in the church - they suck, but they exist, and don't get sucked into one group that is convinced that they are the "elect" and all other Believers are "in error" but also don't be sucked into licentiousness liberal gobbledeegook...but I don't need to tell you this once you ask the King. Serious - challenge the One who Created you. He will lead you to Living Water. Wishing you the peace that only comes in Jesus Christ, resting, daily, where His Word is more important than food or water.
