My recent test is to do the same painting side by side where one is painted with 100% Haiyas and the other is 100% Sennelier. The full start to finish video is on patreon. / rapaintings
Thank you so much for showing an amazing side by side comparison. My guess is Left Haifa, Right Sennelier. I went by the one with the most vibrant colors and also creamy flakes left behind.
Absolutely love your videos. Soon to be Patreon follower where I see you did Columbia Gorge. I live in Lake Oswego and perhaps you show in gallery? It was so difficult to find quality looking art in general searches of oil pastel art. Almost gave up wondering if quality could be achieved and then found your You Tube. Just an FYI; when you search for your full name on Patreon your site or name does not come up. Needed to find the link from your tube with your initials instead to find you. Hoping others don’t think you aren’t on there. You would think it would also come up using full name.
Oh cool, you’re local ! Love lake Oswego. We lived there 11 years ago..lake grove area. Now in Tigard. Thanks for finding me. I’ll need to add my full name on my Patreon. ,my channel is called oil pastels with Rich . I just kinda started building up the Patreon….been focusing on RU-vid. I’m not in a gallery yet. Been focusing on skill and productivity the last several years. And confidence to get myself out there. But I’ve developed real good habits in terms of productivity and development of skill and “mastery” over these years. New Year’s resolution for 2024 is “soar”. My word for the year. That is to soar in all facets of my life. Most especially my art. So I have some local art festivals lined up this year. First one will be in Tigard in May. Also entered a bunch of paintings in some national art competitions. And will continue to do that throughout the years. Just getting myself out there much more. Anyway, thanks again. Glad you’re here and perhaps see you on the Patreon
Based on this the Haiya on the left appeals to me much more as I like the contrasts and tones better than the Sennelier on the right. I use silicone lipstick "brushes" (more like tapered paddles) to deal with crumbs. Works great most of the time. Thanks for doing this comparison. You answered my questions on which I want to focus on for my tool kit. 😊
Yay, I was hoping the one on the left is Haiya because I love the vibrancy of the colors, and I just purchased the exact Haiya set you've got, and I can see from the comments that it is indeed Haiya - how cool!! (long sentence, haha) I will definitely check out your patreon!
