Beautiful Card Lindsay, Absolutely Beautiful! Everything is so perfect with the Card : ) It's reminds me so much of my Dear, Sweet, Mother. All of those colors was her favorite ones : ) And the saying on the Card, It fits my Mother so much. She has the most sweet giggle, she would put her hand over her mouth and just start giggling and then Oh My Goodness she would start really laughing and her laughing turned into that, hum, what would you call it... Snorting LOL : 0 : 0 You brought back a good memory that we shared together as Mother and Daughter/BFF : )

Hi Lindsay! Love your mantra to use our stuff...I recently saw a releases for a flop card die and and I thought to myself, oh..how cute, I'd love that and then I thought WWLD...(what would Lindsay do :) ) So, I pulled out my old creative memory cutters and made my own using partial cutting with the cutters....I wish I could post a pic of the card I created. I used old things that I had in my stash and I LOVE how it turned out...best of all, I don't "need" to buy a die!!! Thanks for keeping me inspired!!

Love these, Lindsay!!! And I don't think you're weird at all for hand cutting a traced oval from a cutting template. I do that frequently with dies (usually circles or ovals), if I need one that is just a bit larger or smaller than the die would cut. 😎 Thanks so much for sharing such great tips! 😊

I ALWAYS learn from you! And I don't know what it is about smaller stamps like you are using here, but I think they are super-functional / versatile! Bravo! PS: You have created a monster! Hah! I like using rub-ons and a few years ago I saw a YT video showing using a die-cut machine to transfer rub-ons to cardstock (I've searched, but cannot find it). As you said, it depends on the quality of the rub-ons. I've had success using the embossing sandwich for my machine (Grand Calibur). The sandwich I used is: base plate, cardstock--good side facing up, rub-on, embossing mat, embossing plate. If a little more pressure is needed, place a cardstock shim between the rub-on and the embossing mat. I'm sure this would work with any die-cut machine. This works especially well with large designs or long borders because it eliminates the "rubbing marks" on the cardstock. I haven't tried using individual letters to spell a word, but I'm sure it would work by using Post-it tape to align the letters. Now we just have to find a source for rub-on stickers.

I love how you teach me news ways to use what I already have!...I have seen new rub ons at Joanns recently, but you really have to look.....near all the stickers ...Plus, Tim Holtz has some rub ons now...but, I have not seen that style (of a banner type layout)yet. I am hoping to fake that part with a stamp or individual letters lined up....Thank you again,as I only bought my peg stamps to begin with,because you made then look so fun,and they certainly are fun!!!!!,I am loving them!....again, when I ordered,I mentioned you to them,and how,I think alot of people trust you in your product reviews and choices! I always call and make a point to make one voice connection,I have certain technical difficulties, (no computer and a cantankorous mobile phone app,it never does the order part right,....it might just be my old lady eyes)... but,I make it brief,and so far every place you have recommended,has been very kind and helpful over the phone to me, (and you can still order stuff with snail mail,you know!!!)so.....thanks again!!!

I like these a lot. I have a big box of insect and leaf and flower stamps in grey rubber like Pegstamps but 1/3 of length - I may now use them and copy this too make some "just in case" emergency cards for if I forget something and needs a card. Finding memories of Letraset with a teaspoon in the early 1990s for my school work as we didn't have printers/PCs of course or the web. How did we cope?! How are you getting such solid stamping with Memento btw? I find it can bead up really easily esp on photopolymer - any suggestions other than emery boards and glycerine? Thanks so much
@thefrugalcrafter
@thefrugalcrafter 8 лет назад
+Rich Boden I love that ink but I mainly use rubber not clear. I have had no problem on good quality stamps in clear but the cheap silliocone ones can bead up
@RichBoden
@RichBoden 8 лет назад
thefrugalcrafter Lindsay Weirich It's fine normally, just on really large areas (even on good clear stamps) as it's so water-y. I have 2 Tuxedo Black dewdrops - may sacrifice one to experiments re: how to thicken it up a bit ;o)
@RichBoden
@RichBoden 8 лет назад
thefrugalcrafter Lindsay Weirich I've started using Tsukineko's Brilliance a lot recently - pigment ink but rapid-drying and has a v light pearlescence to it. I prefer it to VersaColour pigment inks but still use VersaFine for lettering/detail. Works well for large areas as the pearly finish look really nice. I don't use VersaMagic (chalk inks) very much as they aren't good for any level of detail, but I accidentally picked up VersaCraft - intended for fabric etc but looks good on paper and has some really nice colours you can't get in their other range. I wish Memento was a bit thicker - some of the dye inks you get in the USA like the Hero Arts ones look fantastic but sadly we can't get them as easily or economically.
