This story always baffled and angered me. Kelly was written as the victim and Blair as the one in the wrong, when she was even in the story. Even in this clip, you have all those characters so happy for Kelly, no mixed feelings whatsoever. And Kelly a few months after this to testify to take Blair's daughter away from her. This story cast a real pall over Kelly, made worse by the awful stories she would have over the next few years. I do like the Andrew/Cassie scene.
Never could stand Blair or Todd. My old favorites Cord, Tina, Max and Clint were pushed to the side so that they could make this the Todd and Blair show.
@@bkkorner you sound crazy. The show continued more than a decade after Tpd and Blair came on the show. The show was canceled because ABC wanted to get rid of soaps for cheaper programing... period!
The only things I liked about this story were that the show finally matured kelly and gave her a meaty story to show off her acting chops as she won 2 emmys on gl. Before this she was just a ditzy airhead and than languished on the back burner with joey ( the equally not written for Nathan Fillion who went on to bigger and better things like some movie roles and the very popular castle ) after drew and Ian it was sad with the young beautiful and talented Gina tognoni oltl just never seemed to know what to do with kelly . She just became blair s confidante about her pregnancy with todd her last year on the show. When they brought her back again she was wasted as a ons for john and love interest for a newly recasted joey who hadn't been in town for years and she left again. Not sure why they couldn't write for joey or kelly. I believe they gave some decent story to kelly when cast with Heather Tom only to ruin it with her getting pregnant by her husband's son duke who was rapidly aged as in all soaps making asa a great great grandfather which is very rare to ever get to be a great great grandparent . Hell being a great grandparent happens but not long. My kids had a great grandmother til they were 6 and 3 and she lived to be 96. So she was 90 when she became a great grandma. My brother had a great grandma when he was an infant and my dad had him at only 22. So it eas crazy that kelly had a baby with duke . Then he died and kelly can me back without Zane her son who should have been only 4 or 5 at boarding school. I can't believe the y never even brought kevin back for the finale . Fir some reason they really could not find anything for the two sons of the town lead of 30 years viki lord Riley Burke Buchanan Davidson carpenter banks . Lol . Her daughters esp the rewritten history natalie and jess were the only kids they could write for or all her long lost immediate relatives megan tina todd and victor jr. Maybe it was bc kevin and joey were born onscreen and we're supposed to be vikis good boys as she was their mom ans Clint raised them so they had to be good. Plus jessica also born onscreen was a bore until they gave her the mitch story and d.i.d. it's too bad bc goid guys used to be exciting but now only a villain or an anti hero gets screen time . Before Paul Rauch oltl ep of the 80s decided to make tina a schemer and vikis baby sister wanting her piece of her dad's estate ( I don't blame her viki and todd got everything and tina got zip and always had conditions like If viki ever was institutionalized tina wouod gwt everything thus hwr story with mitch trying to make viki turn into Nikki before mitch was turned into a over the top pervert rapist murderer he was just a con man who burned the screen up with andrea evans in 85 giving oltl their biggest place in ratings . Also when todd came on board tina could only get his money if he was dead or missing by the age of 25 which made tina an idiot by telling todd about the inheritance nc if he didn't come foward to claim it within a couple months after he turned 25 tina wouod have gotten it. Anyway my point started as I don't know why they just couldn't write for Gina tognoni as kelly other than the Buchanan boinker. She slept with kevin joey drew their cousin and kevins son and his wife's child was his grandson . Wacky.
