U gotta give it up to gabrielle. I know what she did to brenda was rotten but she could have been off in europe living a fabulously wealthy life with Michael Grande.who adored her and had the money to get al back for her and they could have raised their sons in the lap of luxury. Instead she came clean and got to be the town pariah got beaten in prison and max wasnt even a sure thing esp since she faced 10 to 20. So everyone calling her a selfish monster at this point was wrong she gave up everything to come clean if she were the selfish monster she would have married Michael and went to europe. I think it showed how doing something right can change ur life. She wound up free getting a pardon helping bring down the baby sellers and she got max in the end which was who she wanted from the second she started on the show. So things went from so grim to almost happy ending til max " died" in the car wreck. I hated his recast he was not sexy more sleazy and he wss very grabby and pushy with gabrielle I get that max and her had major passion he seemed more like he pushed her into sleazy sex. That scene in the stables was like porn. Jake Harrison would have made a good max but they wanted to give megan a hunk and she deserved it after max broke her heart.
Natalie ps: Gabrielle was very popular by so many OLTL fans. I never understood that and never will. She was disturbed, she was evil. The actress constantly played over the top (not good acting method, in my opinion). I thought hers and Max's sex scenes were repulsive. Then, Max 'realizes' that what he has felt for Gabrielle was love all along. Come on! I liked Max with Megan best. They were fun and sexy, not gross and full of dark stuff. I feel sorry for Megan. She met Max at a time when he had tons of baggage. Her character never did tie into all the Argentina/Steve/Gabby/Tina/Cord stuff. The writers constantly went back and rehashed elements of those old stories. Megan had to instead have scenes with Marco. Basically, they didn't give Megan and Max much storylines for themselves. Megan always had to contend with Max's past. Oh well, I always fall for the less popular couples on soaps. LOL!
"Gabrielle has ruined her life by making some bad choices ..." LOVED Julia Medina! She was the perfect "mummy" to Gabby. She seemed like a relative. But Debra Medina, not so much. I mean, I suppose someone in that family had to be good, but I found Debra whiny at times. Perhaps if Gabby had had a sexy, dashing ne'er-do-well, Brit brother, kind of a James Bond type, THAT would have worked much better IMO!
I liked Gabrielle having a sister...I liked the mum also. Yeh, Debra was whiny at times, but that made it all the more intriguing. Handsome, dashing, James-Bondish brothers are often overused in soaps. Maybe have the sister as a sort of quiet, mysterious being would work well. Or have a sister akin to Addie, maybe with autism and people think her "simple," but in reality, is smart and offers support in unorthodox, unexpected ways. It would have been sooo neat to see the Medina and the Cramer women team up and offer each other support.
Great work from Fiona. Superb. And the way they tie so many characters into this, even Megan and Marco, good writing. I really like Brenda too. How long was Ron Eldard on the show? It's funny how Gabrielle never mentioned her mother or sister later on. Was Melinda already gone by this time? I know they mention her, but shouldn't "Linda's" dialogue have gone to Melinda if she were there?
