It is NEVER bad timing to see a good movie. It is NEVER bad timing to learn some history, it is NEVER bad timing to watch thought provoking cinema, it is NEVER bad to have an opinion against all war and suppression. There will never be any good to be gained by war, but it is NEVER impossible that good people will do good things , even in the most horrific times. !!! Does anyone agree ?? I hope so........
@@kaylinworthy well, I of course don't know how old you are, however I am in my mid 70's and something of a history buff as well. The world has never and will most likely not ever stop genocide. Sadly, very sadly it's not even a realistic hope. I still say that good people will continue to do as much good as they can right in the center of the nightmare. For that we must be grateful 😢
I'm too old, but not so old to think me, an aficionado; but it's obvious isn’t it. War is the worst crime the world will ever know. Unfortunately, it provides the biggest bang for the least invested both in time and money. And if you follow it, None Dare Call It Conspiracy, but an elite few have and still do dominate the purse strings of influence. If the movie showed who the profiteers of WWII were, we might even see a few Jews.
@@jonmeadow8706 I totally agree with you. You are correct, many facts about who profits from war are hidden but common sense can give you some clues. Old men send young men to die, for them it is like a Chess game...no more like checkers, the only concern to them is that " winning", not a lot of true thought involved. Power and Money... it's all about that.
This is already in theaters in my country, and what a beautiful, bittersweetly emotional film. One of those films where the theater keeps the lights off once the credits start rolling to give you a moment with your thoughts.
Seen the original actual vid of him in that show. When everybody got up 😭😭 Truly an amazing angel of mercy. Just imagine the thousands and/or tens of thousands of people that now exist because of the hundreds he saved. May he RIP
Next, I want to see the biopic of Chiune Sugihara, the Japanese consulate general in Lithuania who doled out false documents and saved over 5,000 Jews.
Japanese counsel? Wow, I never heard about him. All I know is the Japanese were brutal during WWII, really brutal. I guess there is always good people despite all odds. May Father Yehovah bless His soul and ALL those heroes who did the right thing despite the circumstances 🙏
I've seen the clip from that talk show, when it happened in real life. It'll make you cry. They had him sit in that specific seat because the entire audience was made up of people he'd rescued when they were children.
What a story, the part about the 9th train made sad... The That's Life! segment is just amazing, kudos to their crew for that effort. Sir Winton lived for 106 years!
Classic film fanatic here who has only been to a movie theater a handful of times in my life. But I am honestly so excited to go see this in theaters. Hoping to catch it next week. Anthony Hopkins is the greatest actor still living. Edit: Went to see it the week before last. Great film, very worthwhile and highly recommended. So glad I saw it.
@@gregthompson8062 Why do you think I hardly ever go to theaters in the first place? Because there simply aren't enough good movies anymore, and precious few good actors. That's why I watch the classics instead. I believe Anthony Hopkins to be the second greatest actor of all time. Since my choice for #1 is dead, that leaves Hopkins at the top.
Wow the rating is PG? In 2024? And for a war movie? I'm impressed! This seems like a good watch, very family oriented, no violence, no swearing, no sexual content. which Hollywood seems to love to do with movies the past 15 years. Good Job! Can't wait to see it.
This was an AMAZING movie....should definitely be in line for the Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Cinematography next year! Such a relevant theme as well...Helping refugees during a time of war....
Excellent adaptation of real life events. Sir Hopkins, I can watch him along DeNiro, Pacino etc giants of last decades acting era just sitting at a park watching the birds around them, without even talk to each other.
Great timing! Gods timing! This is a out to happen to the jewish people again. Who among us will be the next Winton? Who among us are willing to help? ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I have been trying to identify this piano song for 6 months and still, no such luck. Any information would be greatly appreciated if you have successfully found it.
I respectfully disagree with your bad-timing opinion. There is never a right time to stop evil. The United States is still filled with racism. But there's also hope and courage. We must will the good into existence whenever and wherever we can. This movie will remind human beings that it is possible to make an impact. This world was turned upside down with COVID. I saw individuals leave their states and come to New York to help us. I saw people working together to help people who lost family members in their immediate areas. I saw people giving out masks to the homeless and mentally ill. We are only responsible for the effort. Go see the movie, it just might change your thought process.
Schindlers list. There was a person who told me a story of a masseuse who massaged Hitlers soldiers and in exchange for payment he would write the names of children and give them to the soldiers to look for them to avoid genocide. He ended up saving thousands of lives. ❤
Very bad timing ! The lesson of history was never learned when you see that in 2024 there is still genocide (in gaza) done by those who were victims yesterday and who were supposed today to fight against any apartheids and any genocides in the world ... the victims have choose to apply and support the rules of the criminals ...
@@webagent90 i will shut up if you tell to the authors of the movie "Shindler's list" that we are all waiting for their words and reactions after we all saw on TV this little girl with a red dress running in the streets of gaza ...
All the tragedy and devastation occurred in history to people of all walks of life all over this planet and we continue to tell the same broke people stories. It's either American slavery or the Holocaust like I'm bored of the same tale just from a different perspective. Tell someone else's story enlighten us with tales of other people and their hardships.
I went in knowing a lot more about this story than you might assume from the trailer (since this is a true story), and it's still more than worth seeing, because there's so much more.
@@BerlinBourne That specific scene is already in the collective public conscious as that video goes viral every year or so, so I imagine they want to signal, "This is the story behind THAT moment." And in that it was effective in making that moment hit even harder for me.
