Taking out Mangoworms outside of the clinic has it's advantages! You have a nice breeze against the smell and the other dogs come to help you. www.vetclinicgambia.com/
First puppy: "...........ow..." Second puppy: "Hey! .... That hurt.... Ouch!" Third puppy: "I'M DYIIIIIIIIIIING! YOU ARE KILLIIIIIING MEEEE IT HUUUURTS!"
It broke my heart to hear those sweet babies crying, but I know it's all for the good of the dog. I'm so glad this man stands out from the crowd and is prepared to do this, day in day out.
"It would be easier to just kill you. You will go to your owner and he will do nothing for you and you will die anyway (Holds puppy to his face. Mischa and puppy look into each other's eyes) Should I kill you? Take the shortcut? Maybe send you to America?" Intense.
I've been following you and your clinic for a while now on youtube and your website, and I know you've been getting extremely frustrated lately, but I just wanted to thank you again for being so dedicated to you work - even with these frustrations. You really are an incredible man and I wish you all the luck in the world in your endeavor. Keep fighting the good fight!
We can all help relieve some of Micha's frustration by donating to the Clinic. Even the smallest donation times many people can be a powerful force for good. And let's be real, money talks. Donate via Paypal. I have done so many times and have had no problems. And thank you Micha for the personal thank you emails you send.
Thing is he's been having a lot of dogs lately that have just been some of the worst. Like that one the other day that he had to put down because of how bad it was.
I think it`s not only the dogs with the really bad conditions that frustrated him. But I can imagine it must be frustrating to have to constantly deal with the behaviour of the people there. Out of a different culture, background, maybe financial situation etc. they don`t really consider it important to care for animals. Even if you explain to them to get the worms out or to retourn to the clinic again etc. ... they never do so. Plus, what Micha mentioned in the Video, that people say "yes", saying they do something, but then never do it... even his asstistants... who wouldn`t get frustrated?
This whole video had me laughing. You are too funny and those little puppie cries were actually adorable. Whining for no reason, when you weren't even doing anything at times. LOL
It's painful or they wouldn't be crying and he has said many times that it is. He just can't give the puppies anything to knock them out. So he is doing what he has to
Hi, greetings from India! I accidentally came to your channel and I just wanted to thank you for all the joy you are bringing to these voiceless creatures. Some of your videos are 4-5 yrs old. You have dedicated your life for these dogs. I thank you from all of humanity for the work you are doing! P.S love your commentery in the background. 😆
Oh doc I really feel for you......it must feel like the never ending cycle and especially if the workers don't turn up for work but just know you are adored all around the world and highly admired by many much love from Australia x
if someones boss tells them they want them to come in oh a state holiday, they should tell their boss they want them to pay them more. see who doesn't do what they are asked then.
@@ge2719 I bet he doesn't pay them , Micha loves the dogs but has a bad attitude towards the Gambia and it's people. He relies heavily on other things for approval.
charmaine He shows his frustration with the way the animals are so poorly kept. It’s not right, and it shows that he cares about the animals, unlike a lot of people he comes across.
There are bad people everywhere. It's not any different here in the States. I volunteer at our local shelter and see first hand what evil humans are capable of doing. I applaud Dr. Mischa for what he does. It's a thankless job for the most part and one does it for love of the animals.
I agree!!! It breaks my heart to see and hear about the amount of animal cruelty and neglect that goes on around the world...Thank you Doc for not giving on them... They need you!!.
Daisha Cole I can not Imagine how it must feel to have mangoworms squirming inside of me.....I am grateful to Michael and his team for helping them. 🐾🐶🐾
So so sad 😞 😥 😢 how is anyone able to allow something so precious as a fur baby who doesn't do anything but try their best to please and my goodness the love they give you is unconditional ❤ ♥ how dare you monsters treat your pets this way. That place should kiss 💋 the ground you walk upon for saving all the beautiful pets you've saved. You're truly a angel Dr.
It is killing me hearing the baby cry 😭 but seeing the mama come over to you and let you continue even though it was hurting her baby just showed animals do know when they are being helped. 😍😩👏🏻
pause it and look at her little face at 6.24 after the bite, she looks like she really didnt want to have done that to micha (the vet ..not sure on spelling) but cant bare to here her pups cry anymore, its just instinct, what i love is that micha did not get angry, hit her or even tell her off he just wanted to reassure her.. believe me if she had just done that to her gambian owner he would have beat the shit out of her.. knowing there are people like him in countries like this makes me sleep a little better.
I don't agree with you. When he pet her ears and pulled his arm away, you could tell by the way she was looking at him that she wasn't happy with him. I felt like I knew she was about to bite him, you could see it in her face and eyes.
Golden Ma if you have a problem with someone saying everyone in a country should suffer, which I agree is not right, then maybe you shouldn’t turn around and say an ignorant thing about an entire race. How can you complain about something than turn around and do the same thing?
Lewis72 Yes! Germans tend to not beat around the bush and tell people how it is. Other people can perceive it as rudeness. And the dry sarcasm doesn't really help either! Haha
Nati Whatever Which is why I'm very surprised and disappointed than they not orders of magnitude stricter towards these migrants that seem hell-bent on wrecking the country that has given them a home. They (you?) should say "Our way or you're out. Here are the rules. Obey them, or you'll be on the next boat"
This man must be a legit saint. Somebody give this guy a freaking peace prize or award for suffering with these other living beings. Those cries broke my heart
Ah Micha you seem so down and sad recently :( seeing everything you see must be hard on the heart. I hope you get some time with your family to recharge those batteries!
I can hear your frustration and you seem so deflated, beat even but you need to know that the work you and your clinic do to ensure these animals live a full and healthy life hasn't gone unnoticed. Not by a long shot. I know that what we see doesn't tell even half of what you go through and I really dread to think. I just hope more than anything, you don't give up. You really do mean so much to so many and they need you. On a separate note, I don't know how you manage not to become attached to each and everyone of those sweethearts.
My dog is, laying on his pillow, next to me freaking out over the puppy crying noises. Yea, just send those little angels my way! What you do is amazing. I wish there were more like you. Thank you for giving these animals a chance.
Yessss ... send them to America. poor babies. Micha you should be commended on your perseverance and commitment to these animals. I'm sure you must get frustrated but you are doing good for these animals.
I'm sorry your job is so hard, Micha... I can't imagine what it's like to help animals in a place where people simply don't care about them. You have a huge sense of compassion, it's obvious, but please try not to get too defeated. You make a difference...we all believe in you.
She's a good mama, it was dinner time when you went for the next puppy. If mama only knew you were helping and not hurting. The last puppy was adorable, yipping and crying, then taking a break to yawn. You are a good man Dr Micha. If only it was easier to get animals into the US, you wouldn't have so many street puppies.
My cat heard the third puppy and came running into the room and started looking around and meowing in concern and came up and started rubbing his face on my phone. He loves dogs for some reason and he's never even been near one! He loves to watcht my neighbor walk her dogs and he make little happy "bbbpppptt!" sounds at the dog when it comes up to the window and he rubs on the glass. He's never seen a dog until we moved here but he just....loves them. Guess I should go adopt one!!
That last little pup seemed like the runt of the bunch. Once momma knows you're not going to harm them...she might calm down but you already know that. ☺ I know the hard part is going to find a home for all those babies and mom. As far as the people asking why don't you teach the owners to remove the worms....you have but for some reason they just don't. They are from the Gambia so I'm sure they are very familiar with the mango worm. I hope the recent additions to your "zoo" eventually find great homes. Thanks for all you do!
Alexis DeVille They are just unbelievably lazy. If you look at trash piles next to their dwellings you could easily spot newspaper trash dated hundred years back
Alexis DeVille you know what they say when you assume. That's such a nonchalant way you asked such a rude question. Yes its f*cked up not taking care of your animals. Plenty of dicks right here in Boston who dont care for their animals. Their not "uneducated." They just don't give a sh*t.
Omg, those puppies are so beautiful! And their mommy loves them dearly. Thank you for all of the great work that you do! We all know how terribly bad the animals, especially dogs, would be without you there! ❤️🐶
My gosh I wish I could be able to spend a good amount of time volunteering with the whole mango worm epidemic over there!!! Give me a place to lay my head and get a shower and I would be a mango removing beast!! I feel awful that those puppies cant get any pain meds and have to endure the pinching and all that goes along with removing those awful things!!!
The maggots can be taken care of without expressing them out of their blowholes manually. A dose of ivermectin repeated after 14 days should be sufficient.
SJVS Zaria No, he’s explained many times that he gives the ivermectin to kill them but if he doesn’t remove them, the poor dogs can get nasty abscesses that can be fatal to many of them in the horrible state they are in.
My family and i completely agree you are absolutely Amazing! My son Garrett who is 14 is saving his allowance so he can help your cause... Thank you for just being you in this crazy world..
I'm saddened to hear you're disheartened, the work you and your clinic do is amazing. I wish I could do more than donate to the cause. Keep your chin up, the animals do appreciate what you do to help them. Hugs from Australia
I was a worker at a dog hospital, I didn’t go to school for it, but after a couple of years had made friends with the head vet and often assisted in a lot of the procedures (mostly holding aggressive or scared dogs) and saw a lot of horrible cases that made it very difficult to send some dogs back to their owners. Thank you for doing this important work Doc.
A more truer statement not made today - "Deborah could have taken more with her to America; like maybe 8!"". Americans have huge hearts for cute, cuddly, pudgy puppies. U fortunately, we Americans also have shelters full of these puppies which have grown up out of the cute, cuddly, pudgy stage and now take a lot more work to handle them. BUT, before all these good folks out in RU-vid land come unglued, not all Americans throw away their dogs/pets with the trash. Thank God for people like Deborah and so many others who take pet ownership seriously.
I don't think the problem is they outgrow the cute cuddly stage because dogs are always cute. I think the problem is apartments and rental houses with "no pets" rules. I have always allowed dogs of all kinds in my rental house and in the apartments. Unfortunately, the apartment house is co-owned and the co-owner has allowed his girlfriend to take over and she wants to remodel, jack up the rents, and no pets (except maybe a cat). I'm ready to take her on when the next vacancy comes up but don't know if I can win.
I believe the true problem is simply overpopulation in the US. I'll quote Dr. Jeff (a vet on AnimalPlanet). "There's no reason animals should be being killed simply for being born". This doctor runs an amazing TNR program to begin making a dent in the problems he faces where he is. Bravo for all he does!!
One of the big issues with pets, at least in Germany, and when I take a look at shows like "dog whisperer" or "my cat from hell" in the US as well, is that far too many people do not educate themself what it means to have a cat or dog and what have to be done to fullfill their needs, despite living in a human dominated enviroment. Thus those poor pets go nuts, are hard to handle and finally the owner get's rid of them. Or one gets one not thinking about the livespan of such an animal. And 3 or 4 years later the human want to change his/her life and thus gets rid of his former companion. If only those pets of owners who got in such an unlucky situation as you discribed it would get rid of their pets the shelters would be far less overcrowded. And then their are those stupid people who let their unfixed dogs and cats stray in the neighbourhood, producing offspring in the hundreds with stray cats and dogs that is doomed to be homeless and end up in a shelter sooner or later. You don't want to fix your dog/cat? Fine! But then you have to make sure they only reproduce when YOU want them to, and the puppies and kittens have a home, when they grow up. But too many humans don't give a shit...
Yes, it hurts to see Dr. Meyer so dispirited. The clinic's work is so important, but when one's profession brings one no joy or sense of satisfaction, it can be very hard to keep on.
10:15 Puppy crying 10:16 Mommy is there to comfort puppy. 10:40 Mommy: "All good, puppy, the doc knows what he does" 10:52 Mischa throws mangoworm 10:53 Mommy: "Ok, lunch time"
thank god for people like you.....seriously you have wings cause anyone who gives of them self like you do to animals is an angel.....and I wanted to hear what you had to say but had to turn volume down cause I couldn't bare to hear them cry and yelp and whimper like that ....it seriously made me cry and broke my heart.....and also made me wanna squeeze my dogs
Are you guys still doing your work there. You are all so compassionate and caring. The vet is so funny and the lady who assists him most of the time, is wonderful. Would love to know if your still there.
It is hard to see & listen to these beautiful puppies crying when the vet. Is trying to help them . Thank goodness there is someone like out there who is dedicated to helping & saving theses dogs !! Especially the puppies I am looking at now !! If I had a backyard & owned property to take care of them . I would take all of the 8 puppies !! Thank u for being such a caring pet dr. So that all these abandoned & stray animals can be taking care of & saved !!God Bless All !!
You are doing such a great job. You are a hero without a cape. I can imagine that your job can be extremely frustrating but people like you can not be replaced. I have been following you for so long now and seen you save so many dogs. You are truly an inspiration
Awwwww, Mumma's only trying to protect her babies. This is why I wish we could just TALK to dogs. It would make things so much easier. Also, the bigger dogs trying to comfort them, like "Dude it's ok, they're only helping you". My heart.... Also, thank you. Seriously. Thank you for being strong enough to do this for them. You're an angel.
12:07 "Shall we kill you? Take the shortcut?" An age old question indeed. To give them the mercy instead of an inevitable prolonged torture by neglect before death...
She's a really good Mom, very very protective of those Cutie's, the whole bunch looks so much better since they've been in your care, wonderful job Doc!!! 😺😺😺😺😺
