@@caelanwinans3738 I’m pretty sure he only did that for one episode. It proved to be too difficult to move around the set and in between takes, he couldn’t move much either since he really couldn’t see. He said he had to be led around set and it was a nightmare for everyone involved. After that, he got a blindness consultant to teach him how a blind person really behaves. He also said that there were instances where he HAD to be able to see because of how daredevil operates. He functions like a person who can see. Even better than a sighted person. Either way, his acting is immensely impressive.

Yea, well. I was furious every time Matt refused to kill Fisk. I wanted it so bad because Fisk seemed to never be capable of change. His evil never seemed to be able to suppress. But I guess things ended well. Time will tell.

Marvel characters as a whole are great because they are human. They aren't aliens or gods or anything like that. It seems strange that it took until the mcu to do justice to characters like punisher or daredevil because they just seem perfect for something like this

It hurts that the insane 10-minute one shot prison fight was disqualified from receiving an Emmy because it was too long. It just hurts, man. Charlie Cox’s daredevil in the MCU went through all that adversity so I’m looking forward to seeing how it all plays out from now on.

@@meliistaken somebody wasn't paying attention, this is about the brutal aspects of the characters not whether they're canon. Its VERY clear that Disney will not add any brutal or violent sides of any character so they can appease little children and adults alike to rake in as much money as possible. Very smart but ends up ruining the legacy of those characters. No one was more overjoyed than me to see Kingpin show up in Hawkeye, that is until I realized the brutal sadistic and downright TERRIFYING Kingpin from Daredevil was nowhere to be seen, just a kid-friendly Kingpin dropping in to renew interest from fans that are not children.

Disney is a business and they do realise what they have just made canonical and that if they did just remove that I’m pretty sure all the original fans would riot. They realise the backstory of Kingpin and Matt Murdock and everything else that happened in the Netflix shows. The brutal Aspects haven’t been shown in what? 35 mins of screen time? Kingpin is a villain that will most likely be fleshed out. We will see his brutality in the future. Disney bought fox. When Deadpool is brought into the MCU things have to switch up. When Punisher is brought In things have to switch up. And even if the explicit violence of Kingpin isn’t in this show it doesn’t mean he can’t be ruthless still. Sonys Venom has shown us that violence doesn’t have to be shown for a character to be brutal. Venom is legit implied to eat peoples heads off there bodies. That’s in this Universe now. I highly doubt they are just going to write Kingpin off as a minor villain who doesn’t do anything big. He’s gonna come back and be brutal and violent just as we want him to be. The MCU is growing up with the audience. There will still obviously be the shows for kids but they can’t just not address these sort of dark storylines. It won’t be profitable for them as a business.

Charlie Cox is Matt Murdock in No Way Home and Vincent D'Nofero is Wilson Fisk in the upcoming Hawkeye series. It's seems Kevin Feige isn't completely asleep at the wheel. Who knows, perhaps John Berenthal will reprise his role of Frank Castle in... I don't know, Moon Knight.

Agreed and well put. The only caveat I'd add would be that there's a counterpoint hinted at by Frank's ethical rooftop display. Matt emphasized giving criminals a chance at redemption. But what about the chance for redemption for all the victims they murder? How many more people would have had that chance if Batman had simply offed the Joker, or DD Kingpin? Thousands of lives saved. That's why most Christians believe in some type of justified violence. Even the NT endorses the concept of laws and government, as Matt and Batman do. Government is violence, so any absolute pacifist would have to be an anarchist. I'm not saying Matt's a hypocrite or is wrong not to kill. He's staying true to what he believes is right for his personal action and is helping people. But there's also room and justification for people to play other roles, as Matt finally acknowledged about the Punisher in S2.

@@krl97a personally, as a general rule (exceptions probably exist I'm sure), I think Matt's argument on the rooftop with Frank won out, and the scene does still question Castle's motivations, but it does this great balancing act of legitimizong the hero's POV without sacrificing the nuance between the opposing sides of the philisophical and ethical debate.

I worry about that too if they bring the punisher back, it’ll be all jokes without showing what makes a lot of people like these heroes, the pure grit and pain

Agreed, I started out disliking Nadeem, but then I began to love his character as it went on. If that isn’t good character work, I don’t know what is. (Also I was stupid for not liking Nadeem at first lol)

Nadeem was such a great character. He had no powers. He was a good guy who made some very bad decisions because he wanted more for his family & that’s it. One of the things I liked most about Season 3 was how far back they dialed back the super-hero stuff. No mystical stuff, no magical ninjas. Matt’s the only guy who even really has proper super-powers & he spends most of the show diminished. Dex’s power is basically a lethal stupid human trick. Fisk is just a really, really big dude. I’ve known guys who were built like that who had similar levels of strength. A lot of folks didn’t like the episode where we learn her backstory & what happened with her brother. I thought it was both very good & very relatable. Daredevil wasn’t just a brilliant superhero show. It was amazing television, the best thing that Marvel’s created.

I'm in the same boat of having a hard time to sell this show, but the problem isn't spoiling, but the people I'm trying trying to sell the show on. They're fans of the MCU movies and Disney+ shows but don't want to watch Daredevil because it doesn't connect to the movies. They don't want to give it a chance and are so ready to dismiss it because "it's not MCU" smh..

I skipped intro, mcu netflix shows had stock level intros. Very good but after seeing it once it's not that enjoyable.

I would like to add that I skipped for a while, but after noticing that some details in the intro could be interpreted in different ways as the episodes went on, I stopped skipping and just analyzed everything I could (without pausing, that's boring). The one I liked to analyze the most was the church sequence with the angel in front. Season 1 I believed that was Karen, as Nelson was the human/mortal and Matt the (dare)devil. But it could also be that one nurse girl that took care of Matt those times. And in season 3 I thought it could be Matt's mother. And episode after episode I was analysing and theorizing what it could mean. Also, the music is dope.

My interpretation of the intro is that the daredevil is created out of the same blood that built Hell’s Kitchen. And all the landmarks shown are personally a part of Matt.

Don't get me wrong, I would have loved ten seasons of Daredevil or more, but if we got put in such a shit position by Netflix that we only got those three, at least it felt concluded enough. The show started with Fisk's puppetry and the show ended with Matt learning that he didn't have to give up on his core self to beat Fisk enough to make him stop going after Matt's loved ones.

But taking Charlie Cox as an exemple, I will never associate another actor with Daredevil. Daredevil = Charlie Cox, and Charlie Cox = Daredevil. Maybe that’s a childish and stupid way of thinking, but I don’t care.

@@KoltVEVO No, it was a good thing that Elektra died in The Defenders. All the series the villains were like "Oh the magnificent Black Sky" and yet she hadn't done anything relevant. Plus, she had no motivations in the end when opposing Matt and the others (If she'd said something like "I look for eternal life so I cannot die again and I can be with Matt" it would have been more credible, but the series didn't imply so)

@@rodolfo7710 i loved the MCU's portrayal of Elektra Nachios, but I still think jt's kinda bs that they completely wasted the opportunity to kill her off by impaling like Frank Miller did in the comics. I'd have preferred Bullseye to do it (and then it would redeem the middle-of-the-road movie's version of those events), but it still should have happened. At the very least, Nobu could have easily been the one to stab her through the gut before her resurrection into the Hand. I didn't hate her at all in Defenders, and maybe it's just been too long since I've seen it, but I don't seem to remember her motivations for why she both sort of turned on the Hand leadership and still insisted on fighting the heroes apart from just loving the fight in itself, which is kind of a flimsy and unsatisfying basis for a confrontation, at least for a finale. I like Matt and Elektra's last words to each other. One of the few gripes I have with season 3 is how Matt's moral, psychological and spiritual status quo throughout the bulk of the season is intrinsically linked to end of Defenders with the death of his lover, but the season itself barely ever brings her up by name, and apart from picking up directly where Defenders ends, the events of the finale hardly factor into the season as if they only exist as a plot device to get him from point A to B so they could tell the story they actually cared to address. For someone so important to Matt's toxic and broken state of mind, I would have thought she would have had more of a presence in the narrative. Not a physical presence of course, but within Matt's head space. Seems like learning letting her and her corosive ideas go more personally and directly would be a core part of Matt's ongoi g arc in that season, but he works his way through his funk (still very convincingly) without directly confronting and dealing with her loss. His personal development is much more indirect as it pertains to Elektra in favor of focusing the personification of his internal struggle with Kingpin amd Bullseye. That's the right decision, but by the end, you'd be forgiven for almost completely forgetting that it was Elektra's final demise that provided the basis for Matt reaching absolute rock bottom in the first place.

Daredevil does get more violent, and usually more bloody, but thats only because he doesn't have what is essentially a fully automatic lasso. That being said, whilst i'd love to see him breaking some legs and arms with spiderman, and im sure thats what we'd get if he entered the mcu, pretty sure they would play him much like he was played in the defenders, where he was pretty good. not as violent as this one scene, but still beating the shit out of people

The only teeny tiny thing that bugged me was some shots you cannot feel the punches. They should have landed or touched just little bit. But it still got the spirit.

I agree with you. Thanos was a great villain, but Fisk was one of the greatest MCU villains that I liked. I think it's just because his character felt more fleshed out and the actor, Vincent D'Onofrio, was the perfect fit.

Yeah, One thing I like about this show is that he is not too comedic. He is only comedic when he is with his friends but other mcu heros end up trying to be funny in the most scary situations.

@@po4481 the issue is that the MCU movies rely too much on the Tony Stark humor. Humor isnt a bad thing. It's necessary. It works on Daredevil since the humor feels natural and character driven. Often, the movies just try too hard. Yeah it's funny in the moment, but it diffuses too much tension.

@Shayan but they made the hulk into the biggest joke that has ever been put on the MCU, I will never forgive them for the way they treated Bruce Banner, they should've focused on his movement from Bruce/Hulk to Professor Hulk, instead they decide to make him the first terrible scientist to try time travel and serve tacos

You are both so right about this and it doesn’t just go to Matt, it goes to Peter Parker and Miles Morales. They are both shaped by the same things that Matt goes through and that main one is abandonment. For Peter, his parents leave him as they are government agents and they are later killed, then Uncle Ben dies which then leaves Tony Stark to be the Uncle Ben of the trilogy, he too also dies as well in Endgame and then finally it’s Aunt May. And just like that, Peter is in his darkest moment, he’s on the verge of Killing Green Goblin but like you said there’s always a choice and Peter makes the right choice in sparing Osborn’s life and then he makes another heroic choice, to make the world forget about him. Miles is somewhat in a worse situation than Peter and Matt are. Miles and Matt are both the same, they are both fearless and try to do the right thing as much as possible, but the main reason why they the same is because of their friends. Like Matt, Miles was sent to boarding school by his father and that pushed him out of his comfort zone, he also gets somewhat badly treated by Peter b and the other spiders as they think he’s not capable of being Spider-Man when he is, and even though she’s not canon or part of the story Phin also betrays him as well by attacking his mom’s rally and calling him “that new Spider-Man” even Gwen, who admits that she does want to be with him also abandons him mainly because she and Peter b listens to Miguel O’Hara and they both side with him that Miles is in fact the anomaly and the reason for the Spot’s creation. But Miles proves that there is also a first time for everything as well as facing his fears. He refuses to let his father die and letting others decide his life, he’s saying no and fighting the good fight and does the right thing in letting Peter b and Gwen as he realised that they and nobody else in the society, will ever root or care for him. And that’s just what makes these three characters so good.

I see. Btw In the real world, I’ve heard so many bs criticisms about Daredevil. Sadly, The Arrowverse(Flash and Arrow seem to be more popular in terms of views) The Marvel TV shows were not popular at my school and got a lot of hate. A lot of people Ik in my high school and adults I know dropped Daredevil before the Stick episode and complained the character is lame, he’s stupid cause he is blind, his suit is lame and really dumb, the show is too boring, slow, dark, violent, Daredevil should have let things be, he’s lame because of the Ben Affleck 20th Century Fox Movie in 2003 and the show got too stale (these are all season 1 complaints) and so many people wouldn’t listen to me when watching it and listened to other people with their suggestions. I also saw that play, in the Harold Pinter Theater in London. It was fantastic! They were all amazing. I also originally came for Tom (since it has been on my agenda for the longest time to at least see him perform in stage at least once lol 😅) but I have to say that I was surprised and that Charlie was the highlight of the whole play for me. One scene in particular is how he delivered Jerry's monologue to Emma at the end stuck with me for days after the play was over. Like, it was one of the most emotionally charged performances I've seen on stage. I mean I knew he was already a great actor after watching Daredevil but seeing him in that play just showed me how versatile he was. It was such a great experience and I would happily watch another play with Tom and Charlie in it 😂🤗

You don’t expect a superhero show to delve into some pretty complex theological issues & handle them with nuance and sensitivity. Growing up Catholic is a unique experience & very different from, say, growing up as a mainline Protestant or a Southern Baptist or what have you. I’m not Catholic myself but I have a lot of Catholic friends & even the most devout among them something of a love-hate relationship with their faith.
