I’m on day 12 and on the topic of sleep.. When I was drinking I would fall asleep quickly, but would wake up at 3:00 in the morning stressing about everything under the sun and had trouble falling back to sleep. Now, I sleep through the entire night and it’s amazing. It’s so empowering being in control of my emotions and my reactions in every situations.. I am giving myself some grace as far as sugar and cravings go right now.. so needless to say, haven’t loss much weight yet.. I’m ok with that.
8:06 i’m on day six and yes, last night I had insomnia : / and that’s usually the case when I quit drinking. But I’m also much older than you (60) and I think when you’re young the body in general, just adjusts to changes quicker. But I’m in it for the long-haul and frankly, I’m not going to let insomnia be an issue that breaks me. I also know the longer we go the more things balance out
Thanks for making these videos!!! Keep going. And congrats on one month. Today is day 5 for me. I am definitely sleeping better. When it feels like I'm "treating myself" to a sober weekend, it really makes me realise how pointless drinking every weekend is
I totally agree with you! And thank you so much for watching :) I found time was going by really slowly the first couple weeks, so keep going as well! We got this!
Hey Laura! Just wanted to thank you again for the support. I reached a month yesterday and am feeling much better. Still on shakey ground but moving forward. Cheers!!
I'm trying to stop drinking alcohol now starting today. I've drank too much for too long and sick of feeling crap with no energy or enthusiasm for anything.
Have you tried some fancy Mocktails for fun? Like a virgin cucumber tom collins, or a Blue Butterfly Pea Flower Iced Tea? It can be fun to prep the drinks and nice to have something different!
I am not sure why RU-vid showed this video to me on the browse page because I don't watch any content like this but I clicked anyways and I just wanted to say, I am a RU-vidr as well. I took a glance at your overall channel Laura and I want to legitimately say you are doing a GREAT job on here. This video itself will help many but additionally you got great audio and a natural on the camera. From one creator to another, keep up the good work and you actually got another sub, I look forward to seeing your growth. Keep it up, nearly at that 1k mark!
congrats!! love hearing that you feel great! i'm 4 months into my sobriety. my sobriety is by choice. i just want to work on my overall mental and healthy state. i've noticed lately i've been substituting beer with sparking water, tea and non alcoholic beers (occasionally).
That's amazing - congratulations. :) I also love hearing other people who have decided to become sober by choice - I wish more people would make this decision! Happy for you!
OK, these are some good reminders, there’s no question that increasing your mental clarity and boosting your drive, comes with quitting. Yes, there are many ways to kick the habit, Steffon Barkload's Quit Drinking Forever is what worked for me, best shortcut I go’ogled that took days without withdrawal.
i did - very much so. i tossed the idea around for years. i quit for several months, then went straight back to drinking. finally, i made the decision to quit for good. its all a journey!! be patient with yourself :)
