@@Shellvedge How do you think these ACME Boots compare to T. Shirakashi Bootmaker, Hiro Yanagimachi, Kentaro Soyama or Yohei Fukuda Shoemaker? They seem to all offer RTW, MTO and Fully Bespoke Boots, while specializing in Dress Shoes The ACME seem like a bargain compared to Yohei Fakuda but wondering how the quality stacks up?

Looks beautiful. Is color 6 a medium brown or does it lean more towards reddish brown?

Thanks AJ! Color 2 4 6 8 16 are all the same color spectrum but with different amounts of pigment in the tannins. Color 4 is a more vibrant reddish brown, I’d say a mid reddish brown. Color 8 is the dark burgundy/brown. Color 6 is basically in the middle, kind of a deeper color 4, less red and darker in shade but not as purple as color 8.

@@heraclesreborn ah, yes. That was my first GYW shoe, and used to have quite a number of them. That said, to bring it full circle to the original comment, Acme is a workshop, 5-10 artisans making bespoke handmade shoes using the same techniques, tools and materials as bespoke makers in Italy, UK and USA. I think it’s completely reasonable for 2 things to be true at once, a country can make mass produced goods with poor quality and materials while also having highly trained and skills artisans making some of the best bespoke shoes available today. AE is a perfectly respectable choice, just a different category of shoe compared to a bespoke handmade pair of shoes or boots.
