they just look like some random garage band and to think that they would create the most insanely cool albums with full on stories and worlds and lore, it’s so sick, love gizz so much
I love that King Gizz fans know that the Stu's signature woo's came from the John Dwyer's signature woo's and that it has been consistent from the early Thee Oh Sees and from the beginning of King Gizz
Neat! We didnt ALL know.... I've been following Gizz for about 4 years, but I've only been learning about the oh sees in the last year, so this is a revelation to me. Currently listening to Toe Cutter and having epiphany moment.
i love the woos simply for the fact it blows out the cosmic sound tubes IMMEDIETLY. if im confused at a gizz show stu woos past the audible sound barrier and im back in action
It's impressive to SEE the first gig of popular bands, SEE how the room it's half empty it's amazing compared to today, filling all sits on auditory's and playing on important festivals
@@blackapple2938 nah, stu and Ambrose clearly have a horrid dungeon where the other members have to beg to get let out to record and tour for a few weeks. After that, back to the dungeon
I used to see these guys at house parties in Barwon Heads when I was a teenager, don't think I ever talked to them properly, but never knew they were this cool! Happy to see their enormous success!
Best band ever. I’m so happy I discovered them, and started to listen to them. They have given me so much joy and happiness, and they keep on blowing me away. It’s so nice and fun to see their young and early days. I highly appreciate this band. They are my heroes
The last 3 songs are previously unheard songs that have been known for years through ASCAP trademarks. They were filed alongside the early singles and Anglesea EP. The songs are Love For Me, Oh God and Other Side which all contain one of the trademarked song names in each song. Oh God was previously thought to be this song ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SpP8uAmsJVE.html but with Lucas telling Cavs "Oh God" before they play the fourth song it has to be another song which we haven't been able to figure out the name of.
Just blows me away that these young guys weren’t just playing shows, but creating their own videos doing all the artwork paper Mâché creatures everything and just having the time of their lives and fellas well-deserved!
No worries glad you enjoyed it. I feel very lucky they were in my class. In one of the other Music Industry lectures we discussed strategies for success in the Australian Music Industry and I told them to forget touring in Australia when you start out and just go straight overseas. I can't take credit for their success but they did just that and they have absolutely smashed it.
great, great amp. i found my signature sound on one of those. i got the 500 watt for $420. one of the only times a purchase from Reverb worked out for me.
@@masonhutchinson4815 yeahhh my shit's kinda overkill. i almost never have it past 25%. it was a good deal though. my favorite thing about it is the shape knob. i like to put it at about 10 or 11 o clock and turn up the mids
@@3three3three3three You must play a jazz bass. I've got a P bass so I boost the lows and keep shape around 8:30-9:00. If I'm not mistaken the shape knob is just a specialized compressor, and pretty sure some other companies produce similar versions of as a pedal. Nonetheless, awesome feature to have onboard from the factory

This is fantastic! Thanks for sharing. I would have never imagined that a recording of the last 3 song would have survived. Do you know when about in 2010 this performance happened? Was it at the end of semester 1 or 2? I’m trying to figure out if this was their first show or not. I’m leaning towards the end of semester 2.
What a shame they didnt play polygondwanaland. They would have gotten famous a loooot faster if they would have just played their more famous songs there....
Brian Im a huge fan and Stu did very well from memory!! I remember thinking these guys are really good... my current students worship the gizz and i get much cred from saying they were in my class!!

What is amazing to me seeing them from 2010 is how little the band personnel has changed -- subtract Eric and add Cookie and Ambrose and you have today's lineup. For a band that has had so many different sounds and released 20+ studio albums that's pretty astonishing.

Whoa! This is so cool to run into. Is that Lukey on bass or someone else? Also, what was the band name at this time? I thought they mentioned at Red Rocks they either used to be called Sea of Trees or maybe it was Sleepwalker in the very early days.

@@cyberbyronbaybassman the names you previously had listed are correct. They are from trademarks Stu made back in 2011 with the other songs played in this show. These are the first time we have any actual audio of them but the lyrics all contain the names of the trademarked songs.
