Today I headed out to hike up a small hill located along the edge of the Western Connecticut Highlands. My plan was to head up to summit to end up capturing some drone footage for a client, and while I was headed up to the summit I was going to be on the look out for any wildlife. It was mid summer so the forest was still alive with the sounds of birds calling. As I was hiking up the hill, I found a white-tailed deer resting behind a fallen tree, so I crept over to get some footage. While I was doing that I ended up having aa very surprising encounter with a bobcat! The bobcat had been walking down the trail towards me and ended up about 20 feet away before we saw each other. I was able to get a few photos of this amazing cat before he disappeared back into the forest. It is surprise wildlife encounters like this that really make wildlife photography exciting. Through the hike I also managed to find a photograph a variety of birds that were foraging along the hillside. Thanks for watching!
